Aw man, does the statement "This fighter's arms can exteeeend!" mean it's not Twintelle? That seems to imply it's not Mechanica, either.

Like, who would you pick from that series as the rep in the game?  I mean arguably Springman and Ribbongirl seemed to be the frontrunners in that department.  But then again, they could do alts to make them all appear.

Alright finished watching the Direct, and undoubtedly the highlight for me is Bravely Default II getting a demo (I'll have to try that soon) and confirming that it'll be releasing sometime this year (fingers crossed that doesn't change). Otherwise, hm, not a lot I'm personally interested in. The 2K ports are great additions to the Switch but I already have all of those games on my PS4 so probably won't be double dipping on them. I do want to try Panzer Dragoon at some point though, I've never played that one.

Min Min seems like a popular pick on Twitter. Spring Man or Ribbon Girl definitely seem like the most likely choices though. Then again, maybe they'll do something more unique to make the fighter stand out further—Master Mummy would be an interesting choice as, presumably, a heavy character but with a lot of range.

ARMS DLC Smash fighter seems about right to me considering the situation with Corona in Japan.  Do a in-house IP fighter as #6 then as soon as the pandemic passes start on the 3rd party ones.

Club House Games returns!  YES!  I hope all the games have a good online component.  I hope the pool sims are as good as Cue Sports from WiiWare.  Battle Tanks looks like it was inspired by WiiPlay.

Xenobalde did look good.  I doubt I get it.

RingFit update sounds real nice.

I wonder if they somehow make a whole new ARMS character that comes into the original as free DLC considering they are doing that ARMS tournament in early April.

https://armswiki.org/wiki/Fighters

Master Mummy would be cool.

Helix would be a trip.

Twintelle would be nice, but I wonder if Dixie Kong gets the spinning hair nod.

Ninjara would be cool but with his chain arms and Simon and Richter having those chain whips IDK.

Kid Cobra would be pretty sweet, I liked him.

Max Brass, Springtron, and Dr. Coyle could be interesting for a bad guy line of thought.

Somehow I think Mechanica and Byte and Barq probably wont get a nod.

Misango as I recall was pretty cool.

Lola Pop and Min Min seem possible, I just think there are stronger possibilities.

I think getting these is a HUGE DEAL.  A lot of these titles have been requests I have seen from several Nintendo websites I have seen over the years.

****************

I've heard a lot about Bioshock and Borderlands....   what is their deal?

I've heard that XCOM makes a lot of sense considering how well Mario + Rabbids did... what is its deal?

Spring Man and Ribbon Girl are the obvious picks. However, Spring Man being an Assist Trophy would seemingly rule him out. Then again,  when Spring Man joins the battle, Alfonzo could take over. Leave it to him!

The usage of the word unusual has me thinking Helix, though I'd prefer several of the other ARMS characters.

Moving outside from the characters, though, ARMS has some awesome stages, and I'm interested in seeing which one gets the cut in Smash. There's some creative stuff in there. Spring Stadium seems obvious, but it'd also be the least inspired pick. I hope we get something crazy.

Yeah, their stages could easily fit into Smash.  I'd have to re-familiarize myself with the stages in working with that demo again.  I wonder if the walls would play out like KoF Stadium.  I doubt it would be a travelling stage.

I'm not sure what classified this as a ND Mini (may because it wasn't able to be live streamed?), but it sure didn't feel like a Mini (almost 29 mins and packed full of announcements). Nice to see A LOT of GOOD games coming to Switch. I'm really surprised to see a new Club House games. That thing was good fun on the DS, especially since you could play locally with others with only one copy of the game.

So Xenoblade might be coming out in May - nice to see that coming closer

And Borderlands is coming to Switch, eh? Been somewhat curious about the series but haven’t gotten around to buying it on PC... not that there’s many games my laptop can run smoothly...

Really need to upgrade my laptop- have something in mind, but will be awhile before then....

So the next smash character is coming from Arms, huh? Okay then

Bravely Default II is looking nice so far - never played the first one, though...

Looking forward to playing the Demo, though

So Ninjala is coming closer - looks interesting- seeing its another Free to Play title is quite nice

Star Wars Episode 1 Racer is coming to Switch? Well that’s unexpected- I remember playing that on my PC when i was younger... might be picking that one up at some point

Surprised that there wasn't anything regarding Mario in some capacity that was announced.

Then again, what could they release given what we have from that series already?

I still have my copy of Ep 1 Podracing, used to use a cheat to make races more fun. Big games coming out on my birthday, May 29. Planning to pick up Jedi Academy eventually cause that was one of the best and now having online multi is pretty amazing.

Glad some release dates were shared but what was missing and why this direct was a mini despite what was shared is Bayonetta 3 and No More Heroes 3. I think that about it Nintendo exclusive wise.

As for any new Mario or BotW 2 news that has to be E3, if either will come out this year. Whether this Mario game is another 3D sandbox or another Paper Mario, (we are due as for some reason we get new PM games every 4 years?) even with that said I don't know how likely new Mario game is but outside of AC:NH, there isn't a lot of new games from Nintendo this year outside of a remake with Xenoblade Chronicles; which looks awesome and I'm getting that collection edition.

So random thoughts:

That Ninjala game looks like it was run 30 FPS, the running character looked so slow but it looks fun at least.

Bravely Default II, looks really really good still sticking to the original art direction but now in HD, DLing that demo. I predict fall 2020 release, I was gonna expect a release date but with this demo, we are most likely not seeing this game to much later in the year.

Love the good Job! game.

A lot of confirmed ports from 2K and Altus, those weren't that surprising but are great additions to the Switch.

I'm hyped for a ARMS character coming to switch but until we know more about the development, I'm less hyped than usual and I can't put my finger on it. If it does release this June, they can maybe easily get 3 of the 6 characters last 6 months of this year if the release them 2 months at time but with the state of the world and we don't know if those remaining this year are 3rd party we are luck if we get more than one character this year.

I think that's about it for what I liked in the direct.

For an out-of-nowhere "mini" it wasn't bad

Me too, I give it 7 out of 10
