there's no way you can watch 4000 anime or whatever it was and expect the majority of them to be dubbed in a foreign language

True, just thought that Crunchyroll would have more viewing options regarding to language

Honestly, im not sure what it stems from, but i find it difficult to read subtitles and watch what’s going on at the same time... not really sure though

So i guess that’s more or less why i prefer English dubs to subtitles

Currently down to 3,252 entries with Blue Exorcist out of the way

True, I probably won’t  - there might be more that I won’t have as much interest in that I originally thought... kind of hard to tell which ones right now. though

fellow weebs, lend me your ears

How do i watch Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! without resorting to pornhub? While subs > dubs is indeed a true statement, I would very much like to hear their english speaking voices this time around because the voice actors are actually pretty good.

Now don't take this as a sign that I am a weeb myself. I don't need any of my friends going "haha wheres your waifu pillow nerd?" on the chatbox just because rumors came out of ninfora saying i am one. My curiousity just needs to learn more about this series is all.

Thanks.

Sorry, I had originally meant to post in another thread 😅 ...But to keep this post on topic...

I recently watched Chobits again, which I haven't seen since about '05 or '06 and I forgot how meloconly it gets. Also, I forgot how it gets into some weird/awkward territory where older people are dating/marrying younger people and it makes you start to question their age difference. Overall it's a great anime with some good overall messages and a fantastic ENG. dub. The main character Hideki Motosuwa is hilariously awkward, Chii is cute as af (in a precious kind of way), and Sumomo is absolutely adorable!

Last one I watched was a little number called Lost Universe, which is basically Slayers in Space, and it liberally borrows plot elements from Star Wars. I enjoyed it, there were quite a number of jokes and references I liked. A whole lot of music references, including a mention of one of the aliens being from Planet Claire. Good stuff. Plus, that Oscar Mayer joke was excellent. That brilliant sort of stupid.

Of course, with that said, that dub? Oh boy. It's an ADV dub from 20 years ago, from Monster Island Studios. I won't pretend to have liked it, but there was one voice in particular I really disliked- Jessica Schwartz as Canal Vorfeed. Very rough, and she's a major role, in every episode. Still, dub issues aside, I enjoyed the show.

Is there a way to look up what fansubs do what anime? I'm not asking for a link to the anime itself, just "here are the names you should google for."

After LOGH (which I'll probably finish sometime this month at the pace I'm going) I want to watch The Rose of Versailles because, well, it looks neat and afaik fansubs are the only to watch it and I'm like, where would I even start looking?

here's a list of the groups that animebytes is getting uploads from for this season

  • Asakura
  • Asenshi
  • Chyuu
  • Commie
  • DameDesuYo
  • Doki
  • GJM
  • Glue
  • HorribleSubs
  • Impatience
  • Mezashite
  • MTBB
  • PA-Subs
  • Some-Stuffs

probably easiest way to find others is to just to look at new releases on public trackers like nyaa or tokyotosho

Going on an animanga binge and I'm realizing that my favorite genres are mecha, war dramas, and BL. One or those is not like the other.

Anyway, I'm about 60% through Legend of Galactic Heroes and it's been a fun ride. Despite feeling long, it doesn't feel slow paced at all; something is always happening.

On the Manga end, I'm reading through "I Hear the Sunspot" and will go through volume 3 (aka Limit V1) later today. I really like how the story continues past high school and it's exploring how the two boys will handle their relationship as they focus on establishing themselves.

Anyway, if have any recs for war dramas, mecha, or BL feel free to recommend. I've already most of UC Gundam and generally pretty good at keeping up with BL anime.
