alienboyva
UPDATE: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- In info on Nintendo's site about the recently announced wireless SNES controller for NSO members, it mentions that you will need to update your Switch to 9.0 to use it. JPN has announced that they will be getting the controller on the Sept. 25th (nothing for NA yet). As much as I want themes and a web browser... WE DESPERATELY NEED FOLDERS, Nintendo! Along with the NSO SNES controller support, this will most likely just be stability/performance improvements and new profile icons. Edited September 10, 2019 by alienboyva Quote Link to comment

Online play invites? Nintendo actually doing something right with their online service? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHAT?! Nintendo is finally using the light on the Home Button for the new Alarm Notifications. Edited September 10, 2019 by alienboyva Quote Link to comment
Ridley Prime
Power Rangers Battle For the Grid on the Switch already had an invite option later added, so good to see Nintendo itself is following suit with those features with their own games/service. Quote Link to comment
Ridley Prime
Oh, and yeah, still need things like folders, more themes (black and white is still the only choice for Switch when the 3DS had like how many themes?), icons, and such... But I suspect it’ll be baby steps as per usual. At least 9.0 gave us some good things. alienboyva 1 Quote Link to comment

I hope Nintendo adds this feature to some of their big online games (MK8DX, Splatoon 2, SSBU, etc.) I assume they eventually will. I'm curious to what they have planned for the Alarm Notifications, as you need supported software to use them. I can see this being useful for various things in Animal Crossing, though I was thinking, it would be great for custom online tourneys like in Mario Kart. Ex: You're playing a game while waiting for the tourney to start and then get a notification when it's time. I can see this being useful for our weekly Mario Kart night. Also, I was thinking it could be useful for eShop notifications, like when a game you pre-purchased or a game on your wish list is available.
