I got rid of my Facebook like, a year or two ago, and never looked back. Twitter I've tried to get to work but never can. I'll probably leave my current Twitter account behind, and that's after jettisoning my old one to start over. I think places like here, a few discords, and somehow still Tumblr (I can never figure out what about that place keeps bringing me back there) are about the only places I visit online. I've tried other places as well like ResetEra and Reddit, but Idk, I feel without a small enough venue for people to get to know each other, online social media just tends to be stressful. I can't quite my finger on why, so I've just sort of internalized it as a truism. It's probably why I came back here even after taking, what, a six or seven month break? I don't even really remember lol. Quote Link to comment
Tyranogre
One thing that I'll give Twitter is the ability to mute certain words. It's not 100% reliable (you can still see images with the words in them), but it really does make things a lot more bearable. Doc Brown 1 Quote Link to comment
a/0
Being choosy can definitely be important in how you spend your time online. I don't check here very often but occasionally I look around at it. I think that will remain my extent of activity for here though. Really I spend more time as a moderator for my friends' youtube channels and discord anyways. There was a number of users who were getting kicks out of putting me down. It's one thing when people critique your work and let you know how you can improve and encourage you to keep moving forward, it's another when they basically tell you you're a hopeless case and should just give up. Even though those users have up and gone, I always have an apprehension of ever adding anything new to my gallery thread. I've enjoyed seeing your art personally. I didn't always comment, but I didn't think I had much to add other than liking your paintings. Quote Link to comment
