Yeah, the music levels were my favorite. I made one of the X-Files theme, but I couldn’t get it in the key I wanted, or figure out how to add more layers to the song without reaching the item limit. I remember that a random person left a comment on my level saying that mine was really good and that they had also made a music level of the X-Files theme. So, I checked their’s out, and it was exactly what I was trying to make with my level (way better than mine).

Oh man! I totally forgot about the SMM bookmark site. Even though most of that functionality is now built-in to SMM2, it'd be cool if they add something like this to the NOS app like they did with SSBU.

 

BTW, I added the bookmark link to the one I made so, you can check it out in-game. Also, I'm surprised my levels are still up. I remember hearing that levels would get removed if they were't played in a long time or whatever.

I'm hoping there's an actual theme. I mean. there looks to be room for one more theme....

 

 

I'd much rather have a SMB2 (SM USA) theme, but I'd definitely take a SML theme.

I do think the GB/GBC games have merit for a SMM style set.  And since the Switch is portable, it would make total sense.

 

That said, I would love SMB2 more so.  But hey, who says they have to stop and one additional style.

*keep in mind just about everyone felt the WiiU version handled this better and a lot say their opinion could come down to getting used to it.

Stylus needed for gamepad/portable work

No Mystery Mushroom costumes

3DW vs Old Sets in terms of toggling through creation styles.

*YOU CAN'T MAKE in 3DW and have it work with the others and vice versa

*Also the objects that are in 3DW but not elsewhere and likewise vice versa

Online multiplayer/design oddities with friends

I think the big thing to me will be:

 

No mystery mushrooms thus no costumes to play in/as.

I can only equate that to two things, them going mutliplayer with this one and the usage of the 3DW style.  That said, in the original I couldn't fathom why the mystery mushrooms were limited to SMB only and not to at least SMW too ( SMB3 ..ehh...  and NSMBU would have been some serious sprite work) because I felt nearly every character had a 2 sprite in the SNES era to draw from.  That said, on the multiplayer side of my thought, why not do pallet swaps where who is Mario gets original colors for the sprite but Luigi, Toad, and Toadette get alt colors.

 

Also the building/testing workarounds

I say this because I think I will have to have my game in my hands before I can truly tell how I feel about it.  I understand where Andre from GX is coming from when he discusses this in his review.

Even though the game isn't out yet, I agree on the stylus. I'm still annoyed that NA is the ONLY region not getting the SMM2 stylus as a pre-order bonus. Hell, even China and Taiwan are getting it! Like WTF, NOA?!  Now before someone says you can get one for cheap on Amazon or wherever... 1. Principle...Why is NA the only region not getting it? 2. Added cost.  As I've mentioned before, this stylus really should have been a pack-in like with Kid Icarus: Uprising and the 3DS stand. The stylus is just as essential to SMM2 as the 3DS stand is to KI:U.

 

Luckily I found this, which I forgot I had. I got it as a freebie somewhere (you know how places give out pens with their logo/phone # on them?) and it's just a basic ballpoint pen with a capacitive touchscreen stylus nub on the end.

@alienboyva  Be careful with it. I have a similar one that somehow scratched my Switch's screen. Thinking it was due to the edge of the stylus being a bit rough some how.

 

 

On a side note, didn't find a single physical copy of Super Mario Maker 2 via Walmart. They only have them available digitally at full price.

 

How are things via any stores where you guys are at?

Umm, it releases tomorrow bro....  is your Wal Mart prone to break street date?  I would assume the usual suspects of Gamestop, Best Buy, Wal Mart, and Target would have store stock tomorrow.  I can't see this game selling out day 1.

I have to look at the 10s this game is getting differently after seeing the lag a streamer had to deal with in the versus mode. I'm still very excited for Super Mario Maker 2, and will get the game if I have the funds for it, but Nintendo's inability to execute well under a paid service makes the game lesser than what it could otherwise have been. I think the game will overall still be a great time, probably track better than the original in the long run; however, I can see it having to go through a fair amount of negative feedback early on.

Yea just make sure to have a non-plastic screen protector on as well to try to prevent scratches.
