Tyranogre
A group of people were able to create an archive of Miiverse through the use of Internet Archive and the Wayback Machine. All in all, it totals to approximately 17 terrabytes of data. https://archiverse.guide/ You can't actually post anything new, but with a bit of searching, you should be able to find all your old drawings even if you didn't opt to have Nintendo send them to you. Eliwoodman12
Kind of reminds me what they did with the original Nsider forums. Able to see posts and what the setting was like depending on the year. It amazes me how much Nintendo has regressed in the years of community aspects. With getting rid of forums, Nintendo Power and Miiverse and replacing it with a mobile app to talk to people is pretty nuts. Quote Link to comment

And it's really been over 10 years since we lost NSider? Man, time flies by fast. Marxforever 1 Quote Link to comment

Eliwoodman12
11 years in September was the closing of Nsider 1. Can't really grasp how long it's been. I think Nintendo really dropped the ball with the community. I remember when Nsider closed, many commuted over to Nsider 2, but a lot didn't or didn't stay active. I remember there being a Facebook group where people joined and posted who they were on Nsider if you wanted to stay in contact with them. What I miss the most is interacting with those familiar people who I haven't heard from in over a decade now. I guess it's my fault for not staying in touch when I had the chance to. But I shouldn't have had to do that in the first place. I felt like Nintendo should have integrated and online forum with Miiverse better and reestablish an online community but they really didn't. Idk, Nintendo was always strict about allowing people to interact and chat with. I remember on Nsider 1 how strict NOA was about users sharing friend codes. Friend codes...not like we could do anything with those anyways, even with the Switch ironically enough. I do miss the concept of Miiverse, but never used it too much outside of its first year. But looking at the Switch's interface, I really miss it. Ridley Prime and Doc Brown 2 Quote Link to comment
DLurkster
Still when you look at where we at now in retrospect, it's amazing journey that few from back then are here now to share their story. I think that is remarkable, actually. Yes, it is sad with Nintendo's community efforts seem to take 1 step forward and 2 steps back. But here we are despite of that. Doc Brown 1 Quote Link to comment

We as Nintendo fans and community members didn't give up. In spite of Nintendo's moving backwards. We wanted to stay in touch. No matter what. And isn't that what a community is there for? Eliwoodman12
I feel like I am one of the oldest on here, not in terms of age but in terms of Nsider longevity. I believe I registered on Nsider 1 on 2/2004. I remember missing Hyrule Town Square by a few months. April 1 Quote Link to comment
DLurkster
Yeah, I didn't know Nsider existed until 2007. I remember because that because of the hype leading up to Brawl. Quote Link to comment
Marxforever
Nice. You have to scroll down a bit, but they even have my "level 3" playthrough of Super Mario RPG. https://archiverse.guide/posts?name=MarxForever That was a really fun challenge, it was great to play this I love game with some serious bite for a I change. I think I understand Nozlockes a bit better now. But damn, I can't imagine having done that on original hardware. The restore points were so useful, since the only way to block Exp from bosses is to use items to force a Shell Game, hope it's Exp is on the line and not coins, an then intentiaonally lose it. I wonder how many people truly attempted this back in the day. Hell, there doesn't even seem to be that many runs now. Edited November 26, 2018 by Marxforever April 1 Quote Link to comment

Anyway, I really liked the idea behind Miiverse and wished they had expanded on it for Switch. There was just something really cool about being able to play a game and then just talk about something cool you did or found and share it with others. Also cool idea showing verified users who actually owned the game so you had an idea of who actually got their hands dirty with it. AGES and Eliwoodman12 2 Quote Link to comment

Went by Box9Missingo back then. (Just found a screen cap from 2005, and I was on it... so I definitely think I joined around 2004.) Came across an old thread.
