EH_STEVE
Sorry everyone. Nintendo has basically said this can't happen: Quote Link to comment
Surge135
Lmao Nintendo and their damage control, gotta keep their IPs safe from the corrupt minds of fans on the bad bad internet. Quote Link to comment
Kezay
I mean, we all know this isn't gonna stop anything. If anything it might just fuel it, but considering the whole Bowsette thing misappropriates the naming convention to begin with it was always kind of weird. The internet mob just ran with the fetish despite all of that. Now how long after launch does someone hack in Bowsette? Doc Brown and Ridley Prime 2 Quote Link to comment

Fact remains a Bowsette concept came first in Mario Odyssey’s early concept stage. Whether they go somewhere with it in a sequel or something is up to them. As it is the fans popularized an idea that Nintendo likely regrets abandoning with how quickly it became as big as it did. And funny how that image was directed to Luigi but not Bowser. lol TKrazyO and Doc Brown 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Tyranogre
Oh, please. People like Shadman had been drawing porn of Peach getting mind-broken and corrupted into the "Koopa Queen" for years before Odyssey was in the planning phase. Quote Link to comment
The Albraskan
So, would Dry Bowsette be a human female skeleton in the Bowsette dress? Quote Link to comment
Ithrak Utopia
Artists can just make character-specific crowns and revise any future interpretations of Bowsette, Boosette, Chompette, etc. Nintendo isn't going to stop anything with a simple comment going over how the Super Crown is an exclusive power-up for Toadette in the port. Kezay
Artists could have been doing that this whole time (and I think some have) but most of the popular interpretations still use the Super Crown. In addition, it's not even like Nintendo had to make this comment since it being an exclusive power up for Toadette was made known the moment the power up was revealed the first time around so it was a known factor for months. I don't think Nintendo's intention here is stop anything regarding the Super Crown Extended Universe fandom from doing their thing. Quote Link to comment

It's more the thought that a description like this could be used to devalue a fandom. I don't really think Nintendo intends to stop the fandom, but I've seen enough against the fandom that some fans would ride with this information being put out like this again. Nintendolife already turned this into an article. Quote Link to comment
