I bought this game and I can say its worth it for free. Just a few notes I thought about to add: 1) Its harder than MK because of the AI AND the driving technique demands 2) The story mode for progression is the cooler way to work through the game. 3) TONS of shortcuts 4) LOTS to unlock as far as racers, cars, paint jobs(colors and schemes), and racer skins/costumes 5) Not sure how some will feel about "paid" unlocks from above because in-game you can earn the coins to buy a lot of gear but they also offer a quick pay through the eshop for coin bundles to get stuff too. 6) Very challenging courses if you want to do what is necessary to be the best. Most courses would be at worst a medium on on a MK8 scale but to beat AI racers and bosses you need to master techniques of racing, how to use shortcuts, and how to set up turns/racing lines to be real good at it. I think in a week's time someone would have enough time to get through story mode if this is the only game they are playing. Also, check the gaming thread here for the game discussion. I ran out of time to play the demo for the latest MH for Switch but from what I heard the game appears to lag but almost freeze when playing online. I heard the more friends you have on your list the more unstable it is. I repeat it is not how many play with you at any giving time it is simply how many ppl you have on your FL. If true is stupid, if this new server handles like that. We can only hope its better, the online is not free, you know. Quote Link to comment

The first Nintendo system to have online was the DS, which didn't come out until 2004. And even then, the first game to support online play (Yakuman DS) didn't come out until 2005. Therefore, the servers couldn't be any older then 15 years old as of March 11th (release date of Yakuman DS in Japan). Quote Link to comment

Like any gaming manufacturing, the DS was gonna have online capabilities so maybe when plans to purchase and test are factored into the year, I dunno. Doesn't make sense to include that unless there was a translation error with the year, I get misphrasing but how you mishear 18yrs to 16yrs.
