Fuzzer1
A 20th MKRA team is announcing its intentions to compete to round out the grid at an even 40 drivers tonight, through “legal channels this time,” the new team said. BMW has announced that it will provide engines to Stihl Venom with drivers Wolf O’Donnel and Dash Bowman as the drivers for the team. As to why the German outdoor power equipment manufacturer wanted in for the team, BMW said “we wanted this team to have a company that is not only popular worldwide but also based in Germany as we are to acknowledge the fact that several teams have US sponsors and also have Chevy and/or Ford engines, making those teams all-American. This also ensures that global companies should be able to sponsor teams as well even if they’re not US based.” Link, the Hero of Dreams 1 Quote Link to comment
Triforcemaster3
Well, 40 drivers is going to make for a crowded track, that’s for sure. Wolf and Dash also bring in a group for the villain/antihero crowd, which has been in shorter supply since Conker’s departure. certainly now there is a “no vacancy” sign on the MKRA grid until after the season concludes Edit: CVS Fox cant be happy about this development Edited June 1, 2018 by Triforcemaster3 Link, the Hero of Dreams 1 Quote Link to comment
Fuzzer1
Contrary to those reports, CVS Fox actually welcomed their Venomian rivals as “good competition against a fellow Lylat based team” as extra motivation to race hard. And racing pundits have dismissed such claims that MKRA tracks will be crowded with 40 drivers as some point to NASCAR having run approximately that many drivers in recent years, even running 43 cars for years. So it’s doable. Edited June 1, 2018 by Fuzzer1 Quote Link to comment

Fuzzer1
Koopa Beach Grand Prix qualifying results: Row 1 - Rosalina, Yoshi, Koopa Troopa, Diddy Kong Row 2 - Daisy, Toadette, Bowser, Donkey Kong Row 3 - Mario, Luigi, Krystal, Timber Row 4 - Metaknight, Phoenix Wright, Waluigi, Captain Falcon Row 5 - Toad, Peach, Fox, Wario Row 6 - Fuzzer, Gary Oak, Ash Ketchum, King Dedede Row 7 - Kirby, Birdo, Palutena, Triforcemaster Row 8 - Sonic, Miles Edgeworth, Jody Summer, Wolf O’Donnell Row 9 - Amy Rose, Banjo, Zelda, Waddle Dee Row 10 - Olimar, Louie, Pit, Dash Bowman DNF- Dash Bowman, Olimar, Louie, Waddle Dee, Luigi, Waluigi, Yoshi, Koopa Troopa, Mario, Peach, Gary Oak, Ash Ketchum, Sonic, Amy, Rosalina, 10 pm: The drivers are on their formation lap driving entirely on sand today and also making sure not to get too deep in the water. 10:05 pm: It’s time to bring the action! And Koopa Troopa gets a fantastic start on his home beach to lead early on. 2: Not the start Dash Bowman wanted to debut his first race as he loses control and hits the stone wall. He’s done for early. 6: Koopa, Diddy Kong and Yoshi dominate the podium early with Daisy closing in. Despite leading the standings, she has yet to score a win. Still early though. 10: Olimar, Louie and Waddle Dee all tangle with each other and end their night after suffering substantial damage. 13: So Yoshi and Koopa Troopa were racing each other and that allowed Daisy to go by both of them to take the lead. Seems that someone wants a win tonight. 15: Silently moving his way into the top 10, Fuzzer has drove carefully on the beach and has avoided trouble so far. The same can’t be said for Luigi though because Waluigi forced him hard into the wall and not only ended Luigi’s day, but karma got him good and he was eliminated thanks to Mario sending him deep into the water. 20: Pit stops are finished and Daisy gets out first ahead of everyone else but the biggest drop was Yoshi as his crew had problems with a tire. 25: And that stubborn tire would cause Yoshi to crash as it blows up, sending him into the wall. What a shame. 30: Koopa Troopa has problems with his engine. It has dropped a cylinder and would eventually blow up. He will not win on home soil. 33: Mario has had a bit of a tough race and to make his night end rather embarrassingly, he and Peach collide with each other. Looks like the older Mario brother is sleeping on the couch tonight, if my reports are correct. 35: Fuzzer has climbed all the way to 2nd behind Daisy heading into the last round of pit stops. Delta Sarasaland officials are denying there are any team orders being given to the drivers. 40: A flawless set of pit stops for both DS drivers keeps Daisy up 1-2 over Fuzzer. 20 laps left. 45: Miscommunications with the team for both Gary Oak and Ash Ketchum cause their fuel tanks to run dry which is why they spent some time 1-2. Someone’s getting fired tonight. 46: Water meet Sonic. Sonic meet water. Not a good way for him to go out as he loses control and goes into the water. And sadly that brings Amy Rose into it trying to rescue him and she ends up getting her kart wet too. Note to Amy: Let the rescue Lakitu handle the rescue work in the future. 47: Rosalina spins out and hits the Koopa rock formation hard ending her night. 50: 10 laps to go for Daisy. Fuzzer is in 2nd with Diddy Kong in 3rd. Can she hold on for her first MKRA win of 2018? 55: Timber gets by Diddy Kong and now is 3rd. However there might not be enough time to get the Delta Sarasaland duo with 5 laps left. Even so, this could be his first podium finish. 59: Fuzzer has closed on Daisy as the white flag flies. Could he be the one that denies her tonight or will she hold on? 60: Try as he might, Fuzzer isn’t able to beat his girlfriend as Daisy wins her first MKRA race of the 2018 season. Timber rounds out the podium in third. Results: 1. Daisy- 25 pts 2. Fuzzer- 20 pts 3. Timber- 18 pts 4. Diddy Kong- 15 pts 5. Toadette- 12 pts 6. Donkey Kong- 10 pts 7. Bowser- 9 pts 8. Triforcemaster3
Immediate reaction from Koopa Beach. 1.Night Racing on the beach? Awesome. We get to do it again at Darkwater Beach in a few weeks. 2.Delta Sarasaland are the team to beat...no buts. Can’t make a bigger statement than Daisy and Fuzzer made on Saturday night. 3.The other teams you’d expect to be placing top 15 pretty much did with the exception of Amazon Plumber. A very poor night for Mario and Luigi and they lose ground on CVS Fox and Fridays Fun Guys in the race for the podium 4.Heartbreak for Koopa Troopa. Was near the lead all night only to succumb to a mechanical problem. Ruins what was likely to be another great night for Coors Koopa. 5.Have to wonder if there might be some offseason changes at Corona Islander. Yoshi is getting a sore back from carrying that team. When he has a night with a mechanical or tire issue like tonight, Birdo just doesn’t seem to have the skill to pick up the slack. 6.Dole Banana seems to be picking it up finally after a nightmarish start to the season. Maybe a double top 6 finish will get the Kongs’ Season kickstarted. 7.Nobody’s been saying much about team Sherwin Williams Hyrule, but flying under the radar Tm3 and Zelda have put together a solid season so far. And now double top 10s is a good way to lead into a home race at Hyrule Circuit this week Quote Link to comment
Triforcemaster3
Hyrule Castle Grand Prix, qualifying results: Row 1 - Timber, Triforcemaster, Peach, Zelda Row 2 - Daisy, Fuzzer, Toad, Banjo Row 3 - Rosalina, Yoshi, Toadette, Fox Row 4 - Mario, Luigi, Wario, King Dedede Row 5 - Koopa Troopa, Sonic, Captain Falcon, Wolf Odonnell Row 6 - Krystal, Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong, Bowser Row 7 - Kirby, Birdo, Pit, Jody Summer Row 8 - Waluigi, Metaknight, Phoenix Wright, Gary Oak Row 9 - Olimar, Louie, Dash Bowman, Amy Rose Row 10 - Palutena, Miles Edgeworth, Waddle Dee, Ash Ketchum 10pm - Racers are out for the formation lap. Hyrule Circuit is one of the longest tracks in the MKRA, most of which is a street circuit through Castle Town, but also loops into the castle itself, through its courtyards, and then into Hyrule Field where Racers will encounter wildebeests carrying bulblins as well as Deku Babas before returning into the city. Unlike most MKRA circuits which as consistent paved, dirt, or sand consistently through, this track will utilize dirt, marble, and cobblestones, which will create some interesting tire choices for teams, especially because of how hot it is. Temperatures hit nearly 100 degrees today and are still in the mid 80s at start time. DNF - Toad, Toadette, Koopa Troopa, King Dedede, Captain Falcon, Waddle Dee, Palutena, Amy Rose, Donkey Kong, Bowser, Diddy Kong, Dash Bowman, Miles Edgeworth Lap 1 - It’s time to bring the action! The teams start hot into turn 1 and immediately there’s mayhem, as Toad, Toadette, and Koopa Troopa all wipe out into the barricade. Their race is over. TGI Friday’s won’t want to watch that replay Lap 3 - Wario drives up alongside Mario and swerves, putting him into the wall for seemingly no reason. Mario is furious as he is forced to pit. Race control might dock Wario for that move Lap 6 - With the Toads out and Mario at the back of the field, it’s 3 teams at the front, Delta Sarasaland, Ford Performance, and the home team of the night, Sherwin Williams Hyrule. Fuzzer and Daisy made a huge statement last week, but the crowd is not on their side tonight. Lap 7 - race control black flags Wario...he is forced to pit and falls to the back of the field Lap 10 - Louie has a run in with a deku baba, which bites off a nice chunk of his rear spoiler. He’s forced to pit to repair the damage and is way back now Lap 13 - Captain Falcon takes a ridiculous tight angle at the roundabout that surrounds the master sword, and ends up jack knifing into King Dedede. Both racers’ nights are done. Dedede berates Falcon on the race radio Lap 18 - Triforcemaster passes Fuzzer to take the lead, emitting a monstrous roar from the fans. Zelda and Daisy battle for 3rd and 4th as the two power couples are dueling big time. The Ford racers have backed off just a bit, leading the chase pack. Lap 20 - first time into the pits and it’s Delta Sarasaland with the better change, getting them up to 1 and 2. Further back, Luigi has dropped back to link up with Mario to try to bring him back into the race while Waluigi has done the same with Wario. BMW Big Shot meanwhile has a great change, and both of their guys are now top 10 Lap 24 - The wildebeest get in Waddle Dee’s path, he tries to evade, but in doing so runs right into the big wildebeest carrying King Bulblin. The King wrecks his whole front end. His race is done. Bad night Copa di Vino Dreamland Lap 28 - the master sword roundabout claims two more racers, this time it’s Palutena and Amy Rose, who both take incorrect angles and end up flattening one another following the circle. Lap 32 - at the front it continues to be a fight between Delta Sarasaland and Sherwin Williams Hyrule. The two teams are dominating the race right now. Daisy leads at the moment looking for back to back wins Lap 34 - a quick look at the weather radar shows some really heavy weather rolling in from Hyrule Field. It could be here soon. This is going to make the 2nd pit stop very interesting indeed Lap 37 - the sky starts to illuminate with lightning bolts. This is all getting quite serious now. For now there’s stability on the track. The 2 human led teams still lead, with Ford Performance and BMW Big Shot rekindling their rivalry battling for 5th. Lap 40 - 2nd time into the pits...the rain hasn’t quite arrived yet so some teams are going with rain tires while others aren’t. Sherwin Williams Hyrule stays with dry tires while Delta Sarasaland changes to rain tires. Meanwhile there’s a big surprise as Amazon Plumber and Tesco Princess don’t pit at all, staying on the track...either banking on a crash or perhaps a weather delay, who knows, but they are now 1-4 Lap 41 - Donkey Kong gets rammed by King Bulblin, and the ape literally goes ape, getting out of his kart and fighting him right on the spot in the middle of the track! Oh man, this is awesome!! (Except maybe for the folks at Dole) Lap 42 - DK’s action creates a yellow flag in the Hyrule Field section but not a general safety car. Amazon Plumber elect to pit but Tesco Princess stay out. Their fuel will run out shortly. Meanwhile DKs action has taken King Bulblin out of the equation, his night is over Lap 44 - The race is red flagged as the sky opens up, dropping torrential rain and hail onto the track. Tesco Princess must have an expert weather forecaster on their team because they timed that perfectly Weather delay - here is the field going into the restart 1.Rosalina 2.Peach 3.Triforcemaster 4.Zelda 5.Gary Oak 6.Banjo 7.Fuzzer 8.Daisy 9.Timber 10.Ash Ketchum 11.Mario 12.Luigi 13.Kirby 14.Fox 15.Jody Summer Lap 47 - Bowser spins out on the restart, smacking the barricade hard. He’s out. Bad night for Coors Koopa Lap 50 - Look who’s emerged for the last part of the race! With King Bulblin gone, none other than Ganondorf has appeared , and he’s firing bolts of electricity at racers! One of his first shots zaps Diddy Kong, and his power unit short circuits. No points for Dole Banana tonight Lap 52 - A deku baba takes a big bite out of Dash Bowman’s right front tire. He’s done. Lap 53 - Fuzzer and Triforcemaster are being swamped by furious femininity. The two humans are 5th and 6th, with Peach, Rosalina, Zelda, and Daisy running 1st through 4th Lap 56 - Sherwin Williams Hyrule and Delta Sarasaland are fighting each other again, this time for 3rd place. With the battle intense, it looks like Tesco Princess could be away for gold here. Amazon, Ford, CVS, and BMW are all battling for top 10 places at this point Lap 58 - Ganondorf’s Bolts find another prey, this time it’s Miles Edgeworth whose power unit gets fried. No change at the front, Tesco Princess are away for the win, with Sherwin Williams Hyrule looking likely for bronze as Amazon Plumber are trying to put the hurt on Delta Sarasaland late on Lap 60 - After working their plan with the weather to perfection, Peach and Rosalina finally battle each other on the final lap. Rosalina takes the lead at the roundabout and avoids the danger in the field to take her first checkered flag of the season. Peach takes silver in what is an absolutely massive night for Tesco Princess...who have made gambling with fuel stops into an art form this season. Earlier races they might have rolled snake eyes but this time the dice came up boxcars. Meanwhile Tm3 and Zelda win the duel with Fuzzer and Daisy. They come together to the finish and Tm3 hits the brakes inches from the line, allowing Zelda to take the bronze and stand on the podium for the first time. Final Results: 1.Rosalina - 25 pts 2.Peach - 20 pts 3.Zelda - 18 pts 4.Triforcemaster - 15 pts 5.Luigi - 12 pts 6.Daisy - 10 pts 7.Mario - 9 pts 8.Fuzzer - 8 pts 9.Banjo - 7 pts 10.Fox - 6 pts 11.Timber - 5 pts 12.Jody Summer - 4 pts 13.Gary Oak - 3 pts 14.Wolf - 2 pts 15.Krystal - 1 pt Edited June 19, 2018 by Triforcemaster3 Quote Link to comment
Fuzzer1
Row 2 for Daisy and me tonight. Not a good way to end your race. Ouch. Amazon Plumber probably heard a TON of Italian swear words from Mario after what Wario did. And Wario got black flagged for his actions. Wonder if that piece of the rear spoiler was delicious? Probably not. OK TM3, if it’s a dogfight you want, it’s a dogfight you’ll get. Great job by the crew on that pit stop. Score 1 for nature. Looks like we need to apply the rain tires if it gets damp by lap 40. That gamble could backfire for those 4. We’ll see. Thise two need to fight in a wrestling ring. Ding ding. Does Tesco Princess have the win tonight? All we can do is wait until this system is past. And we are back racing. Some of the course is still damp so those wet tires are a total godsend for us. Watchh our for Ganon. Those bolts are an EMP that will fry our power units. Great night for us humans. I mean, the four girls ARE humans right? Better hope their tanks run dry soon. Lets not do anything stupid to maintain a good finish... unless a crazy wreck happens on the last lap. And no, I don’t have an illegal blue shell to use. *notices one flying by towards the leaders* I think that came from Waluigi and the Target Theives camp. Top 10 finishes for both of us. Good.
