Penance Fracture
Not necessarily relevant to this season, but I just found out that Netflix licensed Violet Evergarden for streaming. Whatever. It's Kyoto Animation, and I already know it's going to have the same general effect on the eyes as watching porn*. By the time they actually get around to streaming it, I'll probably just import the damn thing 'cause, y'know...fuck your binge-watching industry. * And there will be porn of it anyway, so it's a win-win. K
Decided I'm going to watch at least one episode of each new anime this season. So far I've watched Blend S, dropped, Anime-Gataris, and I'm watching the beginning of Black Clover but I don't think I'll be finishing the first episode because the main character's VA is just so annoying. Edie Napier
I finished Helck, which ended recently. It was a very good deconstruction of JRPG tropes and managed to make a compelling narrative involving an overpowered protagonist, something generally difficult to do. It had a lot of likeable characters and juggled being silly and funny with some serious or dark character moments. It had a bit of convoluted asspulling at the end but otherwise it's pretty fucking good. It managed to do a lot of things difficult to do in storytelling without being too bad about it. Eliwoodman12
Catching up on Dragon Ball Super before the final episode. I got about 25 episodes to go. Skipped ahead to see a glimpse of last week's episode and the spoilers and wow what a turn of events! Quote Link to comment

Kezay
It's...about...to go... DOWN! New trailer for Attack on Titan season 3! Thanks to the years long hiatus after the first anime run I decided to pick up the manga and am up to date with it so I know what all is about to go down, but seeing it animated I might as well be checking this out for the first time again. If they can tone down the heavy handed political/religious stuff that sorta slows up this arc in the manga down a bit it's going to touch on a lot of really cool moments and revelations. July 22nd!! Gold
Trying to remember the manga about the skeleton protagonist. Not Overlord, but the one where he gets like a fox companion and pretends he is cursed or something? Quote Link to comment
Sir Grim Locksmith VIII
Kaiji Ultimate Survivor is pretty dope. Quote Link to comment
Kezay
Attack on Titan is back and holy geez, that was a great first episode to open up the new season. I'm also glad they only touched on a few of the more slower paced chapters from the manga that this arc covers because it would be a slog to get through otherwise. But they did just enough to keep everything story relevant at the forefront while pushing forward with some of the key progression from the manga. Quote Link to comment
Kezay
Not sure if anyone else here is reading The Promised Neverland but man this has been such a consistently great one with very few chapters that could be considered mundane or filler. The most recent one though, the way they ended it was just great and also really sets the tone for the next arc since a reset button of sorts was triggered on the kids' current situation going forward.
