Also, if you plan to come as the replace player of 4 next Saturday for team smashdown, being in the know with each character a round is a part of the rules of the night. It is required to be present to partake in the night. From what I read above and how streams or Krazy works there's a delay by 10-15 seconds so if you don't voice chat and do txt only will have to wait for your response. I know you said before a while back when you stopped VC, you couldn't but it would make things smoother if you could play with us on VC.  Just a suggestion if you want to be one of the four replacement players of the night. Either way, I thought to give you the heads up and that if you want to come next week and can't VC, we just have to wait till wee see your character pick in the chat.

 

As I said, I will explain the rules for team smashdown day of so you will get the flow of that night events.

I think it was the last or 2nd last match, you weren't responding. I was surprised you came at the hour you did but I knew if you came in at that time, you had a long day and there was a chance you might of doze off. Up to you man but not the first it happened. So don't push yourself to come for a long day, rest.

 

Like you said for next week, it's a movie night and it is team Smashdown so you know it won't work to drop in when you can. So don't push to come in. In fact and incase you forget.

 

Not only am I gonna make the room friends, I'll make it so only 4 ppl can be inside. I think I always did but I'll make sure it is on no.

I can VC with how I've got my laptop and Switch set up currently. I'll just likely mute during matches.

I usually try to main Samus, but ever since Brawl, she hasn't been the same, so with Ultimate I gravitated toward Wii Fit Trainer and then went to Min Min when she released. I tend to pick Jigglypuff, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Bowser and Captain Falcon when I want to just mess around. Now that I've had some success with Bowser Jr., I'll stick with him as a main. I also like the consistency racing as Bowser Jr. on Thursdays and smashing as him on Saturdays.

Smashdown is selecting a character,  every round we fight. Meaning, you can't use the same character more than once. Thus, you must select a new one every round. To make sure we know who is used, VC makes it easier to share with all what characters are available, who might we pick.

 

Some minor details to Smashdown:

 

First round, we all select random after that we all choose who we going to fight as each round till there's no more characters left. Whoever wins the most rounds wins Smashdown

For teams, everything above still applies but we are playing 2 teams 2 players. At random, I'll setup what players who will fight with each other. Just so we know who is who in this team setup as when it was free-for-all, you represent yourself. The first name and second names I call will be the team names who you fight for wins each round till there is no more characters left.

 

Also, team attack is off and you choose to pick characters that will help your teammate or play like any other fight.

 

P.S. if you happen to lose all your stocks before your teammate, press the start button to take stock. Make sure your teammate have 3-2 stocks, it won't work obviously if they only have 1 stock left.

I'll likely bring this up during Mario Kart tonight but a small heads up here about something stream related.

 

A recent change on Twitch is allowing custom Tags for streams now. So I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for certain Tags I can use that's related to our Smash nights that people could search for pulling up the stream?

 

It only allows 10 Tags total.

I'm gonna use Smashdown and Ninfora mainly for this Saturday, but for the most part it'll likely only have 3 or 4 spots for Tags if you guys could think of anything interesting that might bring the clicks.

Joe saw the explanation above in Discord but didn't reply here to reserve his spot. But I only asked here but not Discord where he saw the explanation of Smashdown.

 

And interesting, you talked about your internet upgraded, I downgrade earlier this week but after 2 days I change mind and will be back to the internet speed package I was before by tomorrow.

 

I was gonna say on Saturday my internet downgrade so more lag may be a thing so, whatever lag we see, it won't be probably me but whatever the usual amount when we play Smash.

@DLurkster...It's better that Hyena is the 4th since I still have a regular cough and would have to be muted often. I didn't reply here earlier because I had work and then dinner with some of my family, and the first notification I saw was on my phone from your Discord message which I responded to at dinner. I was willing to participate, so if there is a need for a sub again or if it's possible to expand...I'm open to joining in the future.

Do what you feel is best for your health. I still like you offer to join in but are still managing the pro and cons of prolonged gaming sessions.

 

Regardless, you on mute most of the time works when for Smashdown all we need is your voice confirmation of character after each round.

 

Oh also forgot to mention when these Smashdown occurs. Normally it the first Saturdays of each month but sometime if ppl who play with us regularly have prior engagements it postponed to the enxt week for availability.  This is a kind of even that can't have less than 4 players but also can't have more than 4 players. One; it takes longer to get thru the roster of characters if under or over and two; 4 players ensures we we go the roster evenly so at the end there isn't odd amount characters to select with even amount of players.

 

Yeah, a lot of trial and error have been observed with this event when all the DLC characters were being added but not that it done it stopped where the last match, there should 2 characters left to choose so it left to vote by who has the most win rounds and downward to choose the characters. So the last match will be 2 same characters vs 2 same characters.

 

Tho, recently with the rise of new regulars now as a option of not postponing on the first Saturday of the month, I ask anyone who is available to play vs the other who can't that might to replace a player or 2 fight in Smashdown. I tried last week and this is more ideal as 2 ppl were missing and this week it just the one player. So we play the Smashdown by the ear of when we can play because the event as I said is dependent on 4 players only every time.

Next Team Smashdown is on on December 3rd. (there's 5 weeks in December and the year ends on Saturday as well, I don't think this Smashdown will postpone at all or near the end of the year but the sooner we can have it the better warrantying any pending for that first Saturday. Let us know here, when the time gets close if we must postpone)

 

Regular Smashdown will resume next month for September 3rd, pending any prior engagements. Again let us know here if we have to postpone for that Saturday. Thank you.

Based on selections Krazy I started slow then had a strong run.... the final run to the end was brutal...close or blowout losses in epic fashion for every one.  

 

I had some strong performances.

Good games guys, and nice work teammate @DLurkster. There were some rough blowouts on both sides but there were some good nail-biters too. I liked when both PB and I accidentally killed ourselves and just watched DL and Krazy duke it out 1v1 for a while.

Yeah, despite what PB remember.

 

Yeah, it was strong for him and Krazy but we started out a 3 nothing lead in point from there they caught up and then we went back forth with points neck and neck till they reached 7 points and we fell behind. The last few rounds is where we broke the lead.

 

What I learned last night that, that sometimes there may not be compatible right or way, doesn't work at all or needs time but none the less I learned something working with Eli. I hope Krazy and PB did as well.

 

I concur despite the up and down and team Eli won, GGs.

On another note, I wanted to specifically say this today to @Ithrak Utopia, @TheBarkinHyena, @Eliwood8, @TKrazyO, and @purple_beard

 

2 weekends from now, is the premier Splatfest for Splatoon 3. This runs past the Smash night at 10pm on Saturday August 27th. So I won't be on for the last Saturday. Wanted to give a heads up from here.

 

Also, any future Splatfests going forward in Splatoon 3. It's not likely it is a will play in all that come up on the weekends. It's not that I have to or that I never missed on since the inception of Splatoon. There a lot of and want to partake in them So any time in the future for the next 2 years at least. There will be some weekends I won't be on Smash for Saturdays. So another heads up from me and the distant Saturdays to come.

Yeah, but I was thinking they had some of their decent characters and based on our picks...  Kind of surprised we won big.  You and I had some good combos though....fighter wise and managed to pull off some epic tag team kills so to speak.  I'd have to go back through a complete video to analyze the pairings to really rate out my thoughts....
