Spring
least fave ghibli movie but it still decent good music indeed Quote Link to comment
JanusDS
I haven't seen it in a really long time, like since I was in college I think; but I remember that I really enjoyed it and also seem to remember really like the soundtrack. I keep telling myself I need to watch it again and just have never gotten around to it in all these years. Quote Link to comment
EH_STEVE
I've only seen "My Neighbour Totoro" as far as Ghibli movies go... Quote Link to comment
Doc Brown
That was my first Ghibli movie (Princess Mononoke). Quote Link to comment
Chrom
It was the dub by the way. Really solid English voicework too. Doc Brown and Marxforever 2 Quote Link to comment

Mao
Needed less "save the planet" preaching and more amazing setpieces. Some smarter characters would have been nice too, every character but the main two (and even then, Mononoke is pretty stubbornly stupid too though her goals are the better ones) seemed obnoxiously short sighted. I'm a bigger fan of Ghibli slice of life films though (Kiki, Whisper of the Heart, When Marnie Was There). They can get a bit preachy in their fantasy epics. Quote Link to comment

Marxforever
37 minutes ago, ace said: How can you say this when The Cat Returns exists. To be fair The Cat Returns was originally suppose to be like a 10-15 minute short for a theme park attraction, and somehow got overly inflated for a theatrical release. I think it's simple premise would've been fine for it's original purpose. Also: The Cat Returns > Pom Poko > Tales from Earthsea Edited September 28, 2016 by Marxforever Quote Link to comment
Erdrick
The Cat Returns is silly, but it's amusing to an extent. Quote Link to comment

luigitornado
I remember watching it back in the day on one of Toonami's special movie nights. Me and my bro's jaws hit the floor when that dude took off some guy's head with a bow and arrow. Wasn't expecting that. Loved the movie. Loved the style, and the whole vibe of it. Zeldaru
My favorite Ghibli film is Princess Mononoke. I'm sensing some disdain for Totoro, but that probably makes sense considering how old-fashioned it seems. Tales of Earthsea is a real travesty, but it had no real hope because it mashes three or four books together. The original Earthsea trilogy is fantastic but the movie does not bring it to life in a remotely convincing manner. However, there are apparently worse adaptations of the series, somehow. I don't have any strong feelings for it one way or the other. It's alright. The title of most underrated belongs to either Porco Rosso or Only Yesterday. Quote Link to comment
