Fuzzer1
BREAKING NEWS: NBC News, and other Western outlets as well, has reported that the UN has announced that it will impose tougher sanctions on North Korea following recent middle launches, one of which includes a global travel ban to the country. What this means is that if the reports of certain events during the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics being held in the Hermit Kingdom were to be true that the KCNA reported on a few weeks ago, they would face such unlikely odds in wake of the global travel bans set to be implemented. Link, the Hero of Dreams
And here we are, the hitting challenge! We end the first round of festivities with the hitting challenge. This is a team vs team challenge as 1 hitter from each team participates, 8 per team. The players earn points based on where they hit the ball into the field of play, with hits to short/right left being worth 10, short center 20, medium left/right worth 40, medium center 50, deep right/left 70, deep center 80, and a home run 100...with no points given for ground balls or foul balls. We will have interludes between each team! Team 1: Culex 310 Bass 390 Metaknight 660 Simon Belmont 400 Michael Ford 290 Marth 360 Brock 570 Wario 510 3490 Team 2: OoT Link- 360 Louie- 590 Tails- 380 Ness- 440 Ken- 510 Gaston- 560 Fox McCloud- 580 Kazooie- 620 4040 Team 3: Booker 440 Eddie Wachowski 500 Lloyd Irving 490 Elesa 490 Pit 610 Hugh O'Conner 360 Diddy Kong 470 Ghirahim 540 3900 Team 4: Boomerang Bro. 520 Shovel Knight 290 Chrom 560 Shulk 390 Medicham 630 Terra Brandford 580 Deku Scrub 400 Bandana Dee 420 3790 Team 1 decided to start off slow... Until Metaknight dropped the ball. It was then urgency for everyone to follow him, and the closet was Brock. The only problem was Michael Ford, but they still ended strong with a score of 3490! Let's see who might top that! Team 2 were trying to beat Metaknight's score so bad individually, that they beat Team 1 collectively with a score of 4040! Alas, only Kazooie came close, 40 pts behind! Strange that OoT Link didn't do well. Must've gotten a cold. As much as I hate to admit it, Team 3 didn't up the ante. Pit was the closest from them to beat Metaknight at 610, but collectively, the team had 3900. Hugh O'Conner must've felt sore today. One last round to determine the winner. From these results, although Metaknight had the high score of today, his team felt flat... 4th. And although they tried, Team 4 was 3rd with 3790. Still, Medicham came really close to defeating Metaknight. ... And although it was his hometown, Shovel Knight did as fair as Michael Ford, the worst hitters for today. SO, THE WINNERS OF THE HITTING CHALLENGE ARE... TEAM 2! Edited June 3, 2017 by XLW Quote Link to comment

I am surprised about this especially since Bowser has constantly gone after Peach and the Myshroom Kingdom since '85, Tatanga only invaded Sarasaland and kidnapped Daisy in Super Mario Land in 1989, nearly 30 years ago when Europe was still divided between capitalism and Communism. Fuzzer1
So with the MLB All Star Game no longer determining World Series home field advantage for the first time since 2002 (that now follows the NHL/NBA model of going to the team with the better record) how will home field advantage be determined for the NWS tomorrow night? Triforcemaster3
NWS home field advantage, much like MLB, is now determined by record Quote Link to comment

Partly because the Indians had to play a Game 7 of a World Series against a wild card team (Marlins) in 1997. I still feel to this day that had that game been played in Cleveland, the Indians probably go on to win...instead the rally caps were on in Miami and the Marlins equalized in the 9th before winning in extras. The rotation rule was dead to me after that Quote Link to comment
Triforcemaster3
Xander is still to finish the HRD and other events but with it getting late now on the East Coast we'll commence with our main event of all-star Saturday. NSN National TV Gamecast: Championship all-stars vs Premier all-stars Splatoon Stadium, Inkopolis - clear - 74 degrees 1st inning - Lily Flyer started the game for Premier, and Ludwig Von Koopa started for Championship, and it was 0s on the board in the 1st 2nd inning - Both teams got on the board in the 2nd as Whitney's RBI double to left put Championship ahead 1-0, but then Freedan followed that up with a solo HR to even the score. 3rd inning - Phoenix Wright comes in and records a 1-2-3 inning. Midna comes in and does likewise for her side. Still 1-1 through 3 4th inning - Championship strikes for 3 in the 4th inning off of Samus Aran, as Annalisa, Brash Bear, and Chrono all have RBI singles. 4-1 to Championship thru 4 5th inning - Premier strikes back with a 5 spot in the 5th. Toad started the run with a 2 run single to left, then an RBI double by Simon Belmont and an RBI triple by Falco Lombardi put Premier ahead 6-4 thru 5 6th inning - A catch your breath inning as Captain Olimar and Professor E Gadd both throw 1-2-3 innings. Still 6-4 to Premier 7th inning - Big inning for Championship as they go back ahead. Maya Fey starts it out with an RBI single, then Krystal singles in an RBI to tie it before Veran crushes a 3 run home run to left to make it a 9-6 lead 8th inning - Premier comes roaring back with a pair in the 8th as Banjo drives an RBI double into the gap, scoring Tom Nook and Samurai Goroh. It's 9-8 Championship as we go to the 9th 9th - The Championship and Reserve All Stars have their day, as Petey Piranha hits a solo home run to get some needed insurance, and then Tricky Earthwalker goes 1-2-3 in the 9th to close it out.
