The Nintendo Baseball League

Oh, sure!

Here are the five other Sony teams, and four Microsoft teams!

Sony:

Raccoon City (Resident Evil)

Wumpa Islands (Crash Bandicoot)

Avalar (Spyro)

Hell (Devil May Cry)

Inaba, Japan (Persona)

A return to form for two Capcom games, two old platformer series which will sadly leave the Sony League, and the rise of Persona 5 through Joker and P5 Royale makes Sony really deadly this time around. Of course, Gotham's joining too. So close for KH, MK, SC, TR, and FF.

Microsoft

Borderlands (Borderlands and Battleborn)

Kyrat (Far Cry)

Kingdom of Fighters (King of Fighters)

Antartica (Overwatch and Team Fortress 2)

With Borderlands 3... coming out soon, the Far Cry series being recognized a little too late, KOF XV finally being announced, and more Overwatch goodness still around, it's no surprise that Microsoft is still decent at best. Doom II and Elder Scrolls VI better pull through next time!

As for the characters... I can't do anything until Monday, since I'm working nonstop this weekend. And that means any games.

Now, for dream matches and whatever:

Raccoon City vs. Borderlands (Both are survival shooters of different means.)

Wumpa Islands vs. Yoster Isle (Legendary platforming icons, and both on islands.)

Avalar vs. Mayahem (Collectahons, essentially.)

Hell vs. Twilight Realm (Odd dark worlds.)

Inaba vs. Mayahem (Ultimate newcomers.)

Inaba vs. Kingdom of Fighters (Persona had a fighting game subseries or two.)

Gotham vs. Kingdom of Fighters (Injustice, anyone?)

Kyrat vs. Great Plateau (Open world exploration.)

Antarctica vs. Sarasaland (Two extremely different environments.)

Got nothing for Ylisse. Only Randgriz from Sony could match them, but... you know.

New concerns arise when talking about the Disney teams, as the Capcom players finally remembered that they have a history with the Marvel team. You know why. FighterZ defends Marvel, since it basically borrowed their tag-team system. Heck, even Capcom produced some Disney games, like the critically acclaimed Ducktales (Woo-hoo!). Still, the Disney partnership is part of their past, and the MvCI game was... average at best. Things get more tricky, as the Zelda teams recall that Link's original design was based on Peter Pan, one of the players in the league.

When asked about the state of affairs, XLW had this to say:

"I'm also running the registry and the contestants for the Olympics. I can't do anything while these teams are called into question. By the 21st of this month, or by next March or mid-Feb, the committee, fans, and TM3 must come to a decision. We either let the Disney teams stay here as is, including Star Wars and Marvel, or let them leave and possibly find a new home(s). If the latter is chosen, I will have to find two teams to put in the Premier League using the runner-ups, and find replacements for those teams and Arendelle and the Avengers... Not to mention, find replacements for those who wandered into different teams. I'll have to find pools of resources to make sure everyone is equal. I also have to either get rid of another team, or find another suitable replacement, since we'll be five teams short. Maybe. Although Marvel is owned by Disney, we'll try to make a compromise, like what we did with Ultratech. I can't save Star Wars, since the franchise came later, and is not on equal footing compared to the other two. I am aware of the petition, but it's ultimately the voices of the NBL that will determine the future of the league. That also goes for NAFA as well."

"If you're wondering why I'm making this notice, it's because I'm done with the 1.5 draft of the registry. (1.0 was the first roster of Fodland Houses before I completed the game.) I'm done with the rosters of the new teams at least, and replacements for those who had to leave for these new teams. I can't show it until the fate of the teams above have been decided and heard."

The deliberation will now be heard on the 18th. Five days from now. As for the NAFA deliberation, that can happen by the time the next season comes by for them.

Penultimate Group Standings Before Tomorrow:

Group A:

Antarctica (5-1) o

Wumpa Island (4-2)

Twilight Realm (3-3)

Borderlands (3-3)

Ylisse (3-3)

Hell (2-4) x

Yoster Isle (2-4) x

Gotham (2-4) x

Analysis: Antarctica has had the backing of fans since 2016, and well deserves being in the next round. Wumpa Island finally has a groove. Three teams are in the mix, while last year's winner Gotham does not have a chance of being in the next round, and the other two teams haven't been doing well.

Group B:

Inaba (5-1) o

Mayahem (4-2)

Sarasaland (4-2)

Raccoon City (4-2)

Kyrat (3-3)

Great Plateau (3-3)

Kingdom of Fighters (1-5) x

Avalar (1-5) x

Analysis: Thanks to Joker being in Smash Ultimate, their time has finally come... and they landed in the next round! Same goes for Mayahem, and the plucky duo. Sarasaland is great as always, but with the RE2make, Raccoon City is bustling with excitement. Kyrat and Great Plateau might have a problem, as they share the open world quota. Still, it's not as worse as Kingdom of Fighters and Avatar, who had a reverse effect from their cousin Wumpa Island.

Only one Sony and Microsoft team has advanced, but we'll be likely seeing more of Nintendo soon. Still, with the close match scores, it's not as simple as it seems.

The last matches predictions:

Twilight Realm vs. Wumpa Island: 40/60. Could go either way, but more fan support goes to the latter.

Antartica vs. Gotham: 90/10. Seriously, it's overkill for the former.

Hell vs. Yoster Isle: 50/50. But, who cares? They're done.

Borderlands vs. Ylisse: 40/60. BIII comes out next month, but a lot of Smash in their books. But, if there was an eight-bracket tournament, then the losers of the 50/50s would have one more chance.

Group B:

Sarasaland vs. Inaba: 40/60. Sarasaland might have Daisy, but Inaba is a top tier team, and Joker is cool.

Kyrat vs. Kingdom of Fighters: 90/10. What's with the ratios?! Kyrat will win due to KOF's incompetence.

Raccoon City vs. Great Plateau: 60/40. With the resurgence and win streak, RC could win, but Great Plateau has BOTW Link. Still, it will be hard to watch.

Avalar vs. Mayahem: 5/95. Sure, Spyro has his fans, but the win-loss record and their Banjo-Kazooie chemistry doesn't make this easy. And, Mayahem was the icon of open-world design. If there was a five-way split, there would be matches between four teams, granted it's not weird.

With the last round over, the results are in!

From Group A: Antarctica, Wumpa Island, Twilight Realm, and Ylisse! From Group B: Inaba, Mayahem, Sarasaland, and Raccoon City!

A lot of new faces have entered the tournament bracket, and we are just as excited to see:

Antarctica! A team comprised of Overwatch and TF2 guys (who have yet to score), this team has slowly risen in popularity. Other teams denied them their chance before, but now is their time to shine! With heavy hitters, awesome assassins, tubular tanks, and mage-like medics, their diversity makes beating them tricky.

Wumpa Island! They missed out last year sadly, but with Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled fueling their chances, they have a better run this time around! Not only that, but the switch to the NBL will make their victory once of the most peculiar. With mad scientists, henchmen, and lovable creatures, who knows what game plan they'll have next!

Ylisse! Finally, a Fire Emblem team has made it to the fold! With their three stars Chrom, Lucina, and Robin, as well as very great supporting characters, they could Conquer any battlefield!

Inaba! Comprised of Persona characters, this team has slowly gathered from the dark. Joker in Smash made their reality a potential, and with news of 5R, they aren't gonna slow down! We never really saw it coming! Team dynamics are what they are good at, so don't expect too much miracles.

Mayahem! A team sadly once forgotten, news of Banjo and Kazooie being in Smash made it impossible for them to be ignored. And they'll stick it to Ultratech, whom will leave to the MBA shortly after the VGWBC. With a witch, fairy, and other creatures, you'll never expect what's coming!

Raccoon City! An oddball team, to say the least. The RE2make thankfully made the city more popular, if you can believe that from the zombie attacks. From zombies, to evil corporate soldiers, to the members of S.T.A.R.S., their team is just... strange. When it comes to teamwork, theirs is the most unorthodox in this bracket.
