I’ve tried not to be distracted by SSBU myself...but it’s hard not to be, lol.

Nintendo World Series Game 6

Sarasaland 2-6 Twilight Realm - Interloper Park, Twilight Hyrule

1st inning - no hits on either side In a very quick first inning

2nd inning - no hits in the 2nd either.  With Maxwell up against Zelda tonight, you have to figure runs will be hard to come by

3rd inning - It’s been a tough go offensively for both teams as neither recorded a hit in the first time through the order.  We’ll see who can break this deadlock.

4th inning - Reggie and Hammer Bro reach base for Sarasaland while Colin and TP Link do for the Interlopers, but neither can get a run across.  Getting closer though

5th inning - Twilight Hyrule break through as Telma, Ganondorf, and Ralis all single in runs to make it a 3-0 Interlopers lead

6th inning - Tatanga may well be Series mvp if Sarasaland wins it...he steps up big again crushing a 2 run home run to left to put Sarasaland within 1

7th inning - Nothing doing here, still a 1 run lead for the Interlopers as the bullpens now have it in their hands

8th inning - Man...bad inning for Doctor Mario.  He walks two, hits a batter, then records two outs before throwing a wild pitch that scores Ralis, before Telma smacks a probable game clinching double into the corner.  It’s now 6-2 Interlopers heading to the 9th

9th inning - The Coins score one on a Wiggler single to right, but King Bulblin finishes it out for the save and the 6-3 victory.  This NWS is now tied at 3 games apiece, meaning we are now set for the 2 best words in sports...Game 7

Tight game with no score. Keep it close and strike when ready.

They have the lead but we have plenty of time to get things even.

All right Tatanga. Only a 1 run deficit now.

As great as a possible home win would be, seeing the Interlopers fans with their hearts broken would be so sweet as well. Heck if that heppens, people can look at future video footage of this and pinpoint the exact moment the Interlopers' fans have their heart break in two.

Do we need a Game 7 then. BRING IT!

No Game 7 tonight, as Sarasaland’s Chai Kingdom was buried under nearly 9 inches of snow within the last 24 hours, one of the biggest blizzards the area has seen in a long time.  Travel emergencies are in place across most of the Kingdom tonight and into the early morning tomorrow and Sarasaland International Airport is closed, which didn’t allow the teams to arrive on schedule today.

There are as we speak about 300 volunteers lining up to help dig out Sarasaland National Stadium from the crazy snowpack.  The weather should allow for game 7 to be played tomorrow.

Princess Daisy had an emergency televised address from Twilight Hyule urging her subjects some key advice:

"Under no circumstances should you attenpt to drive in these horrible conditions. Our highway system has seen a huge increase in wrecks today, some even fatal given the icy conditions on the streets. It is important to let those who drive the snow plows and salt trucks take care of the roads for safe teavels for all motorists. I ask all of you right now, STAY INDOORS! Let the roads and highways get cleared overnight and by tomorrow morning, things should start to get nornal."

With the recent snow system that caused the highest amount of snow in Sarasaland history now out of Chai Kingdom and with roadways being reopened to traffic following the extensive work to clear the roads of snow and ice, Sarasaland International Airport opened up to air traffic earlier today which allowed the Coins and Interlopers' to arrive earlier today.

Speaking to the over 300 volunteers who worked tirelessly to get Chai National Stadium free from the snow, Princess Daisy praised them saying:

"Your hard work has led to this stadium spotless and free from the snow and ice that covered the playing field and seating areas for Game 7 tonight. All of the NBL and Sarasaland thank you."

Nintendo World Series - Game 7

Twilight Realm 0-0 Sarasaland - Chai National Stadium, Sarasaland

1st inning - It's Midna versus Daisy on the mound tonight, with the championship of the NBL on the line.  Predictably, no hits in the first inning on either side.

2nd inning - Darbus gets Twilight's first hit while Hammer Bro reaches for Sarasaland, but no runs in the 2nd.

3rd inning - Back to nothing doing for either offense.  Its cold, the bat stings on anything but a perfect hit, and these are two really good pitchers.  One or two runs honestly might be enough to win tonight.

4th inning - Midna strikes out the side in the 4th inning...Daisy walked a pair in the top of the inning but induced a double play to end the threat.  Still 0-0

5th inning - The beat goes on here.  Wiggler does get Sarasaland's 2nd hit but he doesn't get past first base as Midna has already struck out 9.  Daisy has fanned 7 so far.  This is about as good as it gets.

6th inning - The question is...whos going to blink first.  And which offensive player will rise up and be the hero/heroine?  We'll find out soon enough.

7th inning - The Interlopers have a big opportunity, putting Colin and Ralis on to start the inning but Dangoro and Ganondorf fly out, then Telma strikes out to end the inning.  Fire Bro reaches to start the bottom, but is caught stealing, then Midna makes quick work of the other batters.

8th inning - Daisy goes 1-2-3 in the 8th, while Midna gets into a bit of a jam, with Tatanga and Wiggler reaching with 1 out, but she induced a double play to end the threat.  Still 0-0 going into the 9th

9th inning - 9th inning comes and goes with an NWS first - dueling complete game shutouts as Daisy and Midna both go 1-2-3 in the 9th inning.  You’d figure the bullpens have to come in now but who knows

10th inning - Doctor Mario gets the Coins through the 10th, Ashei does likewise for the Interlopers.  It’s onto the 11th

11th inning - Baby Daisy allows both TP Link and Telma to reach in the top, but still managed to strike out Bokoblin and Colin to end the inning.  Then in the bottom, King Bulblin got the first two outs before Reggie Fils-Aime came to the plate.  On the first pitch, he mashed Bulblin’s fastball down the left field line.  He waved it...the fans and players waved it, and it hit off the left field foul pole for a championship winning walk off home run.  Reggie was mobbed by the players at home plate as many Coins fans awaited the Interlopers exit before mobbing the field themselves.  A massive celebration is underway as the Coins have won their first NBL Championship

As fans celebrate the Coins first ever NWS victory, Fuzzer and Daisy embrace on the diamond and share a kiss as fans both in the stands and on the field cheered them on while waiting for the trophy presentation.

Fuzzer: So which NWS victory was better? The 2016 Apertura with Smashville or this one?

Daisy: This one because it's a party with my people. We've done it sweetie. All of us.

It hasn't been a full 24 hours yet but the feeling that the Coins have won the NWSand lifted the Shigeru Miyamoto Trophy for the first time has casied all of Sarasaland to go into a frenzy several months removed from their NWS victory in Russia. This time however, the celebration was on home soil in front of fans cheering them on and celebrating like crazy.

"Hey Mushroom Kingdom," one Dan said on TV earlier today. "We're the top country in the Mario realm now and you guys have NOTHING! This is a great time to be a citizen of Sarasaland! YES! YES! YES!"

"The magic continues for us," Princess Daisy told a crowd outside her castle. "Not even Wednesday's huge snowstorm could deny this victory we have witnessed. Once more we are on top of the world and it feels great for all four kingdoms."

Local stores in the country have reported huge sales of NWS Champion hats and shirt's and other assorted gear purchased by fans to celebrate this historic victory.

Even Chevrolet has gotten involved by giving Series MVP Tatanga a brand new Camaro ZL1 saying that "The baddest man on the team deserves to drive such a badass car as a reward," which had the space alien immediately doing burnouts and driving through Chai Kingdom's streets with the sound of a loud muscle car engine to accompany it.

As the country awaits Fuzzer and Daisy getting married in the near future, they are taking time to celebrate and it shows no sign of letting up anytime soon

Sorry for no news on my part, Persona 5 got into my life, and I’m currently working a part time job and doing theater stuff again. Done with P5, but I’ll be really busy in the next two months as well, since I’ll be doing a good amount of duties. As for new teams... I’m going to revamp Sylvarant into a new team since Tales of Vesperia hit the Switch. I’ll also try to update any Disney teams with KH3 out tomorrow. That’s all on my end for now.

It is my hope that all in the Nintendo Sports Universe have enjoyed the post NWS winter break.  We're still basking in the glow of that epic game 7 between the Coins and Interlopers, but as with all things, time passes, and new opportunities arise.  Which is why I return with several announcements.

First off, the Nintendo Baseball League's league year will start on February 1st...with the start of player re-signing.  The salary cap numbers and individual player maximums will be announced later this week, but most expect the cap to be $150 million, with individual player max to be at $20 million.  For sake of this offseason, we will assume that all players left unsigned or those who have turned down offers will enter free agency (ie: no continuing contracts).  Player re-signing will go through the 7th after which free agency will start on the 8th and run through the 16th.

Secondly, the 2019 Nintendo Association Football season will kick off on March 2nd.  As with seasons past, the NAFA season will involve teams playing within their own franchise/league, but as this is a Confederations Cup cycle, only league champions will be assured of advancing to the Cup Finals in June (2nd place teams will contest the playoff round to make the field of 16 teams).  The season begins March 2nd and goes for 14 regular season matchdays concluding on June 1st, with the playoff rounds to be contested on June 5th and June 8th.  Nintendo Confederations Cup Finals will be held jointly by France (hosting FIFA women's world cup 2019), and Egypt (hosting CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2019).  The opening match will take place in Paris on June 14th, with the final to be held in Cairo on June 30th.

Thirdly, we already know that the MKRA will be returning on March 11th, with the opening race to be held at Sarasaland's Birabuto Kingdom.  But that's not the big news out of Mushroom World today...no...the big news is that after a one year hiatus, the Toadstool Sports Spectacular is returning!  5 rounds of sports await our contestants, with the big field eventually getting whittled down to a 4-person Mario Party finale.  Each NBL club earns 5 spots in the tournament, and so each team will decide their contestants prior to tomorrow's opening round.  Here's the tentative schedule:

Jan 29-31 - golf round - all players enter, top 40 in each of 4 regionals advance to the tennis round

Feb 5-7 - tennis round - 160 players enter, top 20 in each of 4 regionals advance to the kart racing round

Feb 12-13 - kart racing round - 80 players enter, top 8 in each of 4 grands prix advance to the fighting round

Feb 19-20 - fighting round - 32 players enter, top 16 overall advance to the party semifinals

Feb 26 - party semifinals - 4 board maps, winner of each map advances to party final

Feb 28 - party final - final 4 contestants battle for the TSS Championship on one final board map

NBL Season 31 / 2019 Apertura begins on March 3rd, 3 nights after the TSS Final, and the day after NAFA Opening Day.

Welcome to 2019!!  May this year of Nintendo RP sports be as epic as those that preceded.

So Egypt is taking part in hosting the NAFA Confederations Cup too? Neat.

And now to find my contracts to see what needs to be taken care of.

Edit: And I found them with the three three-year deals for Maxwell, Tatanga and Daisy with a year left. I'll make sure to mention that in parentheses or something like that.
