mikecamper
CURRENT TOTAL ---- 0 How is everyone? Nothing new beaten this year thus far, other than just replaying some older Zelda games. Most recently just finished A Link Between Worlds on Hero Mode. This was only my third time actually playing ALBW all the way through to the end and only second time on Hero Mode. I've lost my mind enough to actually try going for a true completion run for the first time ever! That's right, even the goddamn chickens! All 50 Streetpass challenges have been completed, and this was my first time ever even doing that. What some people may not even realize is that you don't actually NEED other players to get those. Having other players makes it a whole lot easier (well.. at least QUICKER, yes!) But the game does give you it's own Shadow LInks if you don't mind leaving your system and game turned on and unpaused for hours and hours between play sessions. Anyhow, this run/file has everything completed besides the Endless Rush and getting all the apples grown on the Streetpass Tree (max apples is 20 and I'm at 13. Gotta keep fighting more Shadow Links. ) My record on Cucoo Rush is currently somewhere in the 300-350 second range. This is, of course, WITH pause buffering. I mean, is there ANYBODY who attempts that challenge without it? And just curious, is there anyone on this forum who has actually accomplihsed this? What about you, EH Steve? If ANYBODY has, YOU probably have, lol! Edited March 17 by mikecamper Quote Link to comment
EH_STEVE
Holy shit there's a name I haven't seen in AGES! Fuck the Cucoo Rush! After my first 100%, I never bothered with it again. I got super close to completing it without pause buffering, but did in fact need to use it to finally finish it off. Quote Link to comment

The Streetpass challenges were actually fun, though. Frustrating at times, yes! But I liked the process of trying to find the best ways to combine multiple achievments into one battle. Though there were a few of them I wondered for awhile if I had missed my chance altogether to acquire, But anytime I lost a battle, -- or even if I won the fight but failed the achievement I was aiming for -- I reset the sytem, rather than waitiing another five hours for a replacement Shadow Link. (In short, I cheated.) Some of them I tried to do too early in the game, when I SHOULD have waited until I had the red tunic. Just didn't want to feel stuck with all 50 of them at the very end. Tell ya one thing, though! ALBW's Hero Mode is a challenge and a half! Definitely the greatest challenge in the series next to AOL. It might even be a greater challenge than AOL (but maybe just because I grew up with AOL and have experiene with it.) But considering those 8-heart, one or two-hit deaths that Lorule enemies dish out, you really have to do Swamp Palace dungeon first (since it has the blue tunic) if you want to have any chance of surviving for long. Wish that wasn't exactly the case, because Swamp Palace never felt to me like the natural, "right" first dungeon to do. I think in Normal Mode, I either went more for ALTTP order, or maybe "order in which the sages were met in the game" order, lol. The game has grown on me, however and I now consider it one of the strongest entries in the franchise (sans chickens.) Edited March 19 by mikecamper Quote Link to comment
Link, the Hero of Dreams
3/29- King of Fighters XV for PC I bought the Season 1 Pass DLC which included the Orochi Awakened and Samurai Shodown teams. That's nice. ... I almost forgot about that boss challenge with Omega Rugal. Let's check this out. *curses and swears for about five hours* Why did I subject myself to that torture?! This is old school hardcore difficult! If I hear Genocide Cutter ONE MORE TIME, I'm going to lose it! Sure, I defeated that B.S. by doing a lot of my own B.S. (Geese Howard, Omegal Rugal, and Haohmaru), but that was hardly fun. If they somehow get Orochi from KOF '98 as a free bonus character again... That'll be the end of days. Quote Link to comment
