It's apparently $8 now. This defeats the purpose of verification since if they don't have certain rules in place, impersonators will be running wild.

Yep all thanks to Stephen King. :v The irony? No one wants it still lol. Exactly. It's not meant to be a status symbol.

Heads up... Musk wants to paywall Twitter.

So if y'all want to keep in touch with ppl best to do that sooner rather than later, just in case.

I've "enjoyed" Twitter since starting my handle in July, but paying for it to use....  I can't see it.  If it's just corporate accounts that's one thing...

Exactly. But a lot of celebrities are leaving. Muskrat isn't going to have a lot left. He's trying to tank it. He's been trying to get out of the deal.

A lot of the “big name” advertisers have already abandoned ship.

What’s most likely to happen is that Elon will gradually get bored/frustrated from people leaving the site over whatever shitty changes he makes until he eventually gives up and sells it back to the original owners for a fraction of what he originally paid for it.

Twitter ditches "official" check marks hours after launching them (msn.com)

Truth stranger than fiction?
