Nintendo Direct 9/13/22 - 7am PT / 10am ET

Recommended Posts

  • alienboyva changed the title to Nintendo Direct 9/13/22 - 7am PT / 10am ET

Two words to focus on; mostly and this winter.

The mostly might refer to new services coming to NSO but I am not putting a lot of faith in that.

This winter can cover for this year 2022 but also winter 2023. (that goes to March 20th) We might hear things from Final Fantasy Crisis Core Reunion to the very least BotW 2.

Just have to tune in tomorrow and see what shows up within that timeframe. Tho vague, I wonder like Nintendo do they will announce thing beyond the timeframe. Like winter is a good spread of time but I guess it depends what they got to share and the time they provide is a good clue. So will get mixture of 3rd party maybe but what kind of 1st party games and will those consist of rerelease or remaster of Nintendo classics.

Less than 24hrs to find out if some or all will come thru.

Not interesting but expected.

I don't know why there was rumors of a delay when in the first place when it wasn't announced.

I think there was some miscommunication of the status because of the queen death and national mourning in the UK, when VOD was a solution they could do. Well that's that.

40 minutes, eh?

That should pack quite a few announcements in the Direct in that length of time - part of me wouldn’t be surprised if they show off some stuff for early 2023

Though I’m not sure, but i don’t think it’s the first time they’ve done that

Though I’m keeping my expectations low, but I’m looking forward to it regardless - starts at 9 here, so should be free enough to watch it live

There should be backlash if what's announced goes from Metroid Prime Trilogy HD to Prime HD. I would expect news for Metroid to be quiet if not for Retro Studios' Prime 4 tease with their Twitter banner earlier this year, I believe this is the first general Direct since then, so they were either messing around or they have something to show.

I'm anticipating a title or release date for Breath of the Wild 2, but have doubts on both being revealed. I expect the game to show though.

Beyond that, I don't have too many specific expectations for the Direct tomorrow. Nintendo skipped June, so this should be a great Direct and I do think early-mid 2023 will take shape after tomorrow.

I would also be very happy if an ARMS sequel is announced, depending on how it's executed.

Tomorrow should be pretty exciting and I'm looking forward to it.

New Splatfest confirmed - still need to get around to buying that game before then

Octopath Traveler II? That’s an unexpected surprise, but a welcome one

Mario Party 1-3, Pokémon Stadium 1 & 2 are coming to NSO… I’m actually surprised the Stadium games are coming - i was a bit unsure on those

Various Daylight looks interesting

Huh - Ib is coming to Switch, that’s quite interesting  - I remember watching someone playing that a few years ago - not personally interested in it, but still interesting

Looks like Pauline and Diddy are coming to Mario Strikers

Atelier 3 is coming to Switch- wonder how many of those games are currently on Switch? Been interested in the series…

Merry Mountain and DS Peach Gardens are coming in Wave 3 - really like that Tour track

Switch sports is getting Golf soon - kind of forgot about that game - wonder if that’s worth picking up?

Not a bad Direct, though it was very RPG heavy. Nothing really big, but we did get a title and a release date for BoTW 2Pikmin 4 was announced., and Golden Eye (N64) for NSO:)

BTW, for any one with  Rare Replay digitally on Xbox / Xbox Game Pass...

Spoiler

Free update for Rare Replay (digital) owners...

Cool that MS and Nintendo were able to work out a deal, so they both get the game. :)  It's also cool to see the game being remastered for Xbox, but very interesting that the original N64 game on NSO will have online and not the remastered version on Xbox.

Also, I find it odd that we're getting Pokémon Stadium 1 & 2 for the N64 NSO app. Don't you need in import PKMN from the GB games? I know you can play with rental PKMN, but doesn't it make things a bit harder? I don't think I ever played with just only the rental PKMN.

Oh, and only 2 tracks announced for Wave 3 of the MK8D Booster Pass? NINTENDO, WHY?!!!! Why tease us like that? T_T

My thoughts-

Spoiler

Cool. A Tales of Symphonia Remake. Now what am I supposed to do with my highly expensive GC version?

Pikmin 4. Alright.

Kirby's Return To Dream Land Deluxe. Didn't see that coming.

Octopath Traveller II. I'm highly curious, since the first one was alright. Stares daggers at Galdera. I hope the final boss is better.

Goldeneye has been a long time coming.

Man, more cryptic stuff for the new Zelda game. Too bad about the HD remaster rumors though. But, we've hardly any news of Tears of a Kingdom or whatever. But, what does it mean? Are there finally a new princess and new evil? And what was that mechanical serpent? It looks like it might be a better Skyward Sword too.

I heard fantastic things about A Wonderful Like, so I expect the game to be good.

We're getting Crisis Core... without the Remake game? At least...

I'm curious of how the RE games will play. But, at least most of the full RE experience with be on the Switch now. I was kind of taken aback by this news, but anticipating Cloud versions. (Too bad no news on anything Code Veronica related.)

The Sparks are Lumas.

Not sure how I feel on the new SpongeBob game. I'll just wait for reviews.

Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2. Neato.

1080 Snowboarding and Excitebike 64. Alright.

Looks like the MGS Collection was false too.

Fire Emblem... *looks at notes* Engage. Neat. I wonder what this new pair-up mechanic thing is. Summoning past allies? I hope we get more heroes, like Roy, Leif, Eirika, and so much more. It's weird, though. Is it a new mainline game or a spin-off? It borrows the strategy mechanics. But, it's so weird seeing a Fire Emblem game for the Switch this soon?

I'm not a fan of the Rabbids, and it's weird they didn't talk about HIM.

A new Theatrythm. Maybe we'll get FFXVI songs, whenever that comes out. I've never played the games, but maybe I'll try it out.

The robot games. Meh.

The SaGa game. Meh. Have yet to play the third game.

The new not-Danganronpa game- YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES!

It Takes Two- I heard it's one of the best games of... this year... last year... I just know it's fun.

The Mario Party N64 Trilogy- I hope they do a warning about a certain mini game from the first. But, cool.

Spoiler

More Mario Party goodness.

My thoughts on Wave 3 later.

I know I'm forgetting more.

The leaks for BCP are so far accurate, and if that continues, Wave 3 will be phenomenal. I think after Wave 3 I would be willing to say the BCP is better than base Deluxe. I already kind of feel that way after the first two waves. That news for me was right behind Pikmin and Zelda

Spoiler

Guess we're doing spoiler boxes, okay.

  • New Fire Emblem, Octopath Traveler, and Theatrhythm in the next few months, I'm eating good in this Direct!
  • Zelda: I had just assumed that BotW 2 would release in March, around the same time as the first game/the Switch itself, but May doesn't sound bad either. I really like Tears of the Kingdom as a subtitle, kinda ominous and melancholy. The relief design at the beginning of the trailer kind of gives me classic Zelda vibes (seven objects, as in seven dungeons?). Can't wait to play this game!
  • Fire Emblem: At first I thought this was a continuation of the mobile game, hah. It does seem quite soon for a new FE title but I won't complain. But since this does kind of have Awakening or Heroes vibes, I wonder what will really set this one apart.
  • Pikmin: Even if it's just a teaser I'm really happy to see some news about Pikmin 4. Man next year is going to be stacked at this rate.
  • Octopath Traveler: Super excited to see another OT game, I think I enjoyed the first one a lot more than most people did, hah. Kind of feels like a missed opportunity though, to just be using the same character classes as the original, but that is Square Enix's habit after all.
  • Theatrhythm: Honestly didn't think we'd ever see another one of these games, so I'm excited, especially with Octopath Traveler and Live a Live songs included (as DLC, but still). Curious how this plays on the Switch though, because you can't really beat a stylus for speed and accuracy, not with a controller or with a finger in undocked mode.
  • Tales of Symphonia: Gosh I don't think I've ever replayed Symphonia, so it's been almost twenty years since I last played this. Hope it's just as good as I remember.

Those are my main thoughts, and I did like some of the other stuff shown, but man I'm excited to see these sequels coming out so soon.
