  1. Do you think Pokemon Go should have some sort of PokeCenter? A place where all your Pokemon are healed and revived in full. Obviously to keep this from being abused, it would have to be limited use. My thoughts are, if they do this you could choose to have an Allied Gym be used as a PokeCenter . It heals all your Pokemon to full health as well as reviving them. This can only be done once a day, similar to cashing in your coins, and the ability to do it again resets after 24 hours. By doing this, it encourages trainers to try and keep gyms up and running, as they can boost it over and over, then heal their team strengthening the gym. Or conversely, a high level opposing gym, one can expend all their Pokemon taking it down, then once it's become an Allied Gym, you can use it as a PokeCenter to heal everyone back up, instead of using a bunch of items, What are your thoughts on this? Is it needed? Do we get enough items as is?
  2. So it's been long since found in the code that more Pokemon are in there, and we all know it's coming at some point. What I want to know is how do you think they'll do this, or SHOULD they do this? Do you think there will be a charge? Or will it be free? Should they just be added all in? Should we have Kanto and Johto days/weeks/months? Switchable by user? Should we get additional Pokemon storage? A Pokedex filter? Johto/Kanto split or just National? Babies be egg only or catchable? What about Pokemon with two evolution branches? Ex: Slowpoke to Slowbro OR Slowking? Should buddy walking and friendliness be included? Day/Night play a role in appearances? Other: Add Great/Ultra balls for purchase? Be able to "release" eggs?
  3. First, a story. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II under T-Mobile. The last official update my phone received was Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Pokémon GO has a minimum Android OS requirement of 4.4 KitKat. Once the game dropped and I noticed the OS requirement, my heart sunk. At this point, I had three options: 1) Live life without Pokémon GO, which I wouldn't like as someone who's played every generation of Pokémon since Gen I while all my friends simply hopped onto a fad; 2) buy a new phone, which isn't something I'd want to do for a free fucking Pokémon spinoff; or 3) flash a custom ROM with a more recent version of Android compatible with Pokémon GO. Any warranties I may have had on my phone were long since expired, so I decided to install a custom ROM. I went with the most recent stable build of the most popular custom ROM for my phone: CyanogenMod 12.1, based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Play store still said my phone was incompatible, so I installed the game from a mirror. The game ran fine—by which I mean the only bugs I experienced were the same bugs everyone else was experiencing at the time. Update 0.37.0 released, blocking root users. Apparently, there are enough people cheating in a free fucking Pokémon spinoff for Niantic to put a blanket ban on root users such as myself. Flashing a custom ROM, especially one like CyanogenMod with all its features, generally comes with root access built in, so simply unrooting my phone isn't exactly an option for me. I managed to find a work-around that worked for about a month or so before Google updated SafetyNet API (the same root checker used with Android Pay) a few weeks ago, and now I'm shit out of luck. Keep in mind I spent hours modding my phone just so I can play the game in the first place, and now Niantic is blocking access for me because someone else decided to hack fake Pokémon into the game or mess with their GPS. Anyway, Google has been failing me recently and I don't have time to scour the internet for any answers. Has anyone gotten Pokémon GO to work on a rooted Android device recently?
  4. Pokémon Go has been an interesting experience for me. At first, it was just hearing the buzz about the new mobile game from my little sister after she returned from college. By the end of that day, my family had the game downloaded and my sister and I had already went on our first Pokémon Go adventure. It was an adventure that took us behind a local school at night just to hopefully catch an elusive Golduck. Since then, I've had a few more walks around my neighborhood and several family trips to local parks and the board walk. The way Pokémon Go has impacted my family has been somewhat annoying and exciting...For the first time, I did not have to go to a forum site like this to talk about something video game related. Beyond that, Pokémon Go has definitely reinvigorated the appeal of Pokémon for me. After being burned out with Pokémon X, the simplicity of Pokémon Go brought me in quickly and continues to give me some level of enjoyment daily. Pokémon Go also got me seeking out Pokémon merchandise. What I use to love to do when I was younger was collecting Pokémon cards and loving the "Christmas Day" feel of opening up a series of packs just to see what new Pokémon I would get and admire their art. Riding the energy of Pokémon Go, I recently did purchase quite a bit of Pokémon cards. The Pokémon card packs and sets I purchased about a month ago really took me back. Again, I was experiencing that joy of opening each new pack and celebrating when I got a cool looking card and/or a great artistic take on a Pokémon. It was an awesome time and I'm considering doing it again the next time my store has a sales event going on. Pokémon Go not only brought me back to the enjoyment I have had with Pokémon games at their core, but also brought me back to a child-like excitement for the series and merchandise. Looking ahead to Sun and Moon, I'm considering getting both versions now because I'm in the mood to catch 'em all thanks to Pokémon Go. So how has your experience with Pokémon Go impacted your love for Pokémon? Has the popular game and all of its buzz gotten you more into Pokémon than in recent years? Discuss.
  5. Not huge update, but Niantic is adding a feature back and more functionality for the Pokémon GO Plus... It's nice to see more functionality beeing added to the Pokémon GO Plus... Though, I just wish they'd give us some settings for the device like, turn off vibration, set which to notify you first on if both a PKMN and PokéStop are near by, set which balls to use, let the device notify you of only certain PKMN, let the device notify you of rare/high CP PKMN so you can take out your phone and have more success in catching that PKMN.
