  1. This is supposed to start today I think. The sixth, in Europe. It's done via a special QR code. You need to beat the game first, so no resetting for multiples! Can't make a fancy OP on mobile, but such is life. The QR code will be posted on the official Sun and Moon website; also, probably, on any major fansite like Serebii. Last I heard, the event does not expire in North America. Further details will probably come out today. Discuss.
  2. If you missed Arceus earlier this year there's a universal code for him now. Will update when not on mobile. ARCEUS20 in North America. ARCEUS2016 in Europe. Code expires December 31st. Works in X, Y, Omelet Gravy, Apple Cider.
  3. It what is likely to be the final event distribution for the sixth generation of Pokémon games, Meloetta makes her Generation VI debut! ...fashionably late. I get that you're probably busy with Sun and Moon, but don't forget to claim Music Waifu! Meloetta is available in X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire; it is not available in Sun and Moon, however. This event is scheduled to end on December 24th. Note also that you do not need to go to Gamestop -- a simple Internet download will suffice. Meloetta is level 100 and knows Quick Attack, Confusion, and Round. It can change into its Pirouette Form by learning Relic Song from tutors located in Snowbelle City, Mauville City, or -- upon transfer in January -- Hano Grand Resort. This is the final event of 2016's year of Mythical distributions. Did you enjoy being able to collect them all for a change? Hopefully they'll get events again ten years from now! ...say, speaking of not forgetting about her, you all remembered to redeem Genesect before Sun and Moon came out, riiiight? Discuss.
  4. I suppose this is technically an event too. For the next month-and-a-half, you'll be able to redeem a special Pokémon in Pokémon Sun & Moon: a Munchlax holding the rare Snorlium Z! This item cannot be obtained in any other way, and allows Snorlax to use the special Z-Move "Pulverizing Pancake" -- an upgraded Giga Impact with a base power of 210 and no recharge, thus making it marginally stronger than Breakneck Blitz. While this move is unlikely to ever see serious use, it's a fun little thing only available now, for free, so you might as well get it! Possibly more importantly, this Munchlax gets the special event moves 'Hold Back' and 'Happy Hour'. The latter doubles the amount of money you gain upon clearing a battle, while the former -- a clone of False Swipe -- gives it rather unique utility in being able to use Hold Back, Fling, Recycle, and Yawn for the purposes of chaining Ditto in SOS battles. You really shouldn't ever need either of these qualities, but Munchlax is willing to offer them. Otherwise, it arrives at level 5 and you're the OT so it provides a slightly early chance to get the reasonably strong Snorlax if you're not tired of using it in almost every previous generation. Uh... and this has actually been going on since the game came out, but I was too busy breeding with Zora to remember to make the thread. Please understand. It ends on January 11th, either way, so claim it by then. This is the first event for Generation VII. The second, Magearna, begins next week. Look forward to it! Discuss.
  5. You know what this is by now. Genesect. Requires a serial code that can be obtained at Gamestop (in US), EBGames (in Canada), or various other retailers (elsewhere.) Can be redeemed in X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire through Mystery Gift. Don't try being a smart-ass and redeeming it in Sun or Moon. Said retailers stop handing out these codes on November 24th, so get one before then. You can probably use the code for a while after that. They might distribute it via email later if you miss it. Hell if I know. Next month, Meloetta, is the last. That one doesn't have a code. Anticipate it. Discuss.
  6. Volcanion is the 721st Pokémon -- and in sixth-generation games, it is the last one in the Pokédex. This mythical Fire/Water-type harnesses the power of steam or something. It's presumably going to appear in the upcoming? movie Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel but why are you watching anything pertaining to the anime at this point. The executives are literally laughing at you. Anyway, serial codes for it are scheduled to be distributed at Gamestop stores across the US beginning tomorrow, and will continue to be distributed until October 31st. Presumably it will be distributed at EBGames in Canada. These codes are unique and can only be redeemed once, so you will need to obtain one code for each sixth-generation game you plan on redeeming him in. This event is compatible with Alpha Sapphire, Omega Ruby, X, and Y versions. The distributed Volcanion will be received at level 70, holds an Assault Vest, and knows Flamethrower, Hydro Pump, Explosion, and the unique move Steam Eruption that's like Scald if it were even more ridiculous. If you live in Europe, you can obtain it right now at various retailers. You're on your own for that, though. While you're in Mystery Gift, also, don't forget to redeem Keldeo and Darkrai if you have not yet done so. Discuss Volcanion (and cry about Eternal Floette never ever being released.)
  7. In honor of Pokémon's 20th anniversary, TPCi is running monthly events to provide players with access to sixth-generation-friendly Mythical Pokémon. Several months ago, Darkrai was distributed via codes provided at retailers such as Gamestop. It was later revealed a while ago that they would be providing a second chance to get Darkrai in the next newsletter, but these plans have apparently been forsaken. Instead, Darkrai is now available in North America via a single universal code. To receive Darkrai in North America, start up Mystery Gift on a copy of any sixth-generation Pokémon game -- that is, Alpha Sapphire, Omega Ruby, X, or Y. Input the code DARKRAI20. This code only works on copies of the aforementioned games that did not previously receive Darkrai when it was being distributed via retailers earlier in the year, and it expires on October 31st. You should receive a Lv100 Darkrai holding an Enigma Berry that knows Dark Void, Ominous Wind, Nightmare, and Feint Attack. (Players in Europe or Australia have been able to do this with the code DARKRAI2016 for about a month now, and for them, this event ends on September 30th so move quickly if you haven't already done this.)
  8. For some reason, the mythical Pokémon Hoopa is currently being distributed via serial code in North America. Specifically, the universal serial code 2016HOOPA. To receive Hoopa, enter Mystery Gift from any sixth-generation game (i.e. X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire) and select "get with code." Then, input the above code (2016HOOPA). This Hoopa is level 50 and knows Hyperspace Hole, Psychic, Astonish, and Nasty Plot. If brought to a PokéMart in Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire, it will also allow you to obtain the Prison Bottle item that allows Hoopa to change form. Unlike recent serial codes, it doesn't matter whether or not you have previously received Hoopa -- this is a new event that everyone can claim, even if they have received Hoopa before. Consequently you should make sure to grab it before the code expires. The event ends on October 9th, right before the Volcanion event begins, so act fast! Don't forget to grab Keldeo and Darkrai as well -- they have ongoing events too! Volcanion will also have a serial code distributed via Gamestop beginning October 10th, so also keep an eye out for that. Discuss.
  9. In honor of 20 years, blah blah blah, free ponies. To receive Keldeo, start up Mystery Gift on any sixth-generation Pokémon game including X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire, and select "receive via Internet." No serial code or trip to Gamestop is needed, just a basic Internet connection. This Keldeo is Level 100 and knows attacks. Be sure to claim Keldeo before the event expires on October 24th -- once this date passes, it will no longer be possible to obtain Keldeo in Generation VI without trading or cheating. Seeing as it's a free online event you can even reset for, you really have no excuse. There will also be additional merchandise centering around Keldeo for the next month, which will make an excellent gift if you have any younger siblings who watch MLP but aren't quite able to recognize the full cast and as such are vulnerable to being misled. I think next month is the Genesect event at Gamestop but you're probably more excited for the upcoming Volcanion distribution from there instead huh. Discuss.
  10. In honor of the series' 20th anniversary, TPCi is running monthly distributions of mythical event Pokémon. For the month of September, they are distributing Victini! Victini can be received in any sixth-generation Pokémon game, or in other words X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire. No trip to Gamestop is required; all that one needs to do is go to Mystery Gift from the main menu and receive the gift via wi-fi connection. The Victini from this event will arrive at level 100, knowing Incinerate, Quick Attack, Confusion, and Endure. It doesn't know V-Create, which makes it somewhat useless competitively, but that's life. Still, it's better than nothing! The Victini event terminates on September 24th, a few days from now. Next month's distribution is Keldeo, so look forward to that. Discuss.
