  1. About time if so. The monthly free games from the NES library were getting pretty lackluster at this point. https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/08/switch_snes_controller_confirmed_nintendo_switch_online_snes_games_next
  2. I knew there were devices like the SEGA Channel on the Genesis and the Satellaview for the Super Famicom in Japan , but I've never heard of this device. WOW! It's pretty impressive that they were able to do online gaming on the SNES/Genesis via dial-up back in the day. It's kind of funny that they had to deal with some of the same issues we had to with modern online gaming, like people disconnecting when they are about to lose, people harassing others, etc. This video is very well produced. I like how they have interviews with people who worked on the device/service and people who actually used the device back in the day. It's pretty cool that they revived the service via a modern day internet connection. *Note* Video is over 1 hr long
  3. In a recent interview with Jez San, founder of Argonaut Software (mostly known for Star Fox on the SNES and the Super FX chip), detailed their canceled VR headset for the SNES that they once were working on with Nintendo... Full color and head tracking?! Can you imagine if this would have came out back then and actually caught on? Who knows?...We could all be playing something like this today... *see spoiler* I can't believe Nintendo really decided to cancel this in favor of the Virtual Boy? Even Argonaut knew how bad that thing was. Though to be fair, maybe they canceled it because the VB would be cheaper? ...'Cause it sounds like the Super Visor would have been pretty expensive if released back then. Man, it really makes you wonder what other crazy shit never left Nintendo's doors? It's so cool to hear stories like this.
  4. Has anyone tried this controller, and if so, how does it compare to an original SNES controller, or even the SNES Classic Edition controller? specifically the feel of the D-pad above all else, been considering getting one and I'd hate to go off Amazon reviews and YT videos that most probably got for free for ''reviewing'' purposes.

  6. VOLUMES: Vol. 1: Star Fox & Star Fox 2 Vol. 2: F-ZERO! Vol. 3: Super Metroid Vol. 4: Super Mario Kart Vol. 5: Super Mario World and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Vol. 6. Kirby Super Star! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pretty interesting read. I remember they did is with the NES Classic Edition as well. It's really cool seeing all that those old Star Fox sketches and I'm so glad that Miyamoto didn't get to call the buttons Yellow, Red, Green, Blue, thanks to the NA design of the system. Calling them by their colors just seems to me like they think we're 2 yr. olds. Of course, they most likely would have called the buttons Y, R, G, B. If they did do this, they couldn't call the right shoulder button R, so they'd have use something like on the Switch joy-con and call them SR and SL. I really hope in later volumes, they go in-depth on why the NA system looks so different and why EUR didn't use the NA design like with the NES. I've heard various reasons to why they did this, but I'm not really sure which is actually true.
