  1. Well it seems that the bans have begun for the people that pirated the game and I don't feel the least bit sorry for them. I will however feel sorry for the one that somehow got an early legit copy. I remember when I was super lucky in getting both Black and White from BJs one week early.
  2. So, I've been trying to trade with a friend online for over the past hour, and we just can't get it to work. I've followed all the steps according to this guide: http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/291719/how-to-i-trade-with-friends-over-the-internet-in-pokemon-sun-moon We disabled "Communication with Guests", and that didn't help. Anyone have a guess as to what's going on? Are there any additional requirements that need to be met?
  3. Not thinking to take this seriously but http://www.gamespot.com/articles/new-pokemon-sun-and-moon-version-coming-to-nintend/1100-6445552/?utm_source=gamefaqs&utm_medium=partner&utm_content=news_module&utm_campaign=homepage

    Sun and Moon tips

Tired of wasting time checking doors? Save the effort, most small doors you can enter have a welcome mat. Early game and want to stock up on cheap healing items? Head to the vending machine in the Game Freak office on Island 2, after you beat the first trial of the island. Fresh Waters there are 150 Pokedollars, which is a pretty significant discount. (This may discount may extend as more drinks become available through progress.) What are some tips you have found from playing so far?
  5. The general pre-battle theme is one of the best for the franchise. Honestly most of the music shines, and Gladion's battle theme amazing. X3 What have been your favorite themes so far?

  7. Well looks like we've got another reveal trailer before the game launches. Here's a link to the video (from GameXplain)
  8. General hype thread, I guess. We're one week away from release (unless you're in Europe, sorry friends). Just how excited are you to go to Alola? What are you most interested about in the new games? Please let us know so we can have new things to talk about and help make the wait a little more bearable. For me, playing the demo definitely helped sparked my interest in it more than ever. It plays really nice. I like how everything feels and looks compared to Pokémon X and Y.
  9. Volcanion is the 721st Pokémon -- and in sixth-generation games, it is the last one in the Pokédex. This mythical Fire/Water-type harnesses the power of steam or something. It's presumably going to appear in the upcoming? movie Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel but why are you watching anything pertaining to the anime at this point. The executives are literally laughing at you. Anyway, serial codes for it are scheduled to be distributed at Gamestop stores across the US beginning tomorrow, and will continue to be distributed until October 31st. Presumably it will be distributed at EBGames in Canada. These codes are unique and can only be redeemed once, so you will need to obtain one code for each sixth-generation game you plan on redeeming him in. This event is compatible with Alpha Sapphire, Omega Ruby, X, and Y versions. The distributed Volcanion will be received at level 70, holds an Assault Vest, and knows Flamethrower, Hydro Pump, Explosion, and the unique move Steam Eruption that's like Scald if it were even more ridiculous. If you live in Europe, you can obtain it right now at various retailers. You're on your own for that, though. While you're in Mystery Gift, also, don't forget to redeem Keldeo and Darkrai if you have not yet done so. Discuss Volcanion (and cry about Eternal Floette never ever being released.)
  10. Mobile site since I'm posting from my phone: http://m.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=11204051 The sale is for all video games but it runs to the 19th which means Pokemon Sun and Moon will fall under it. Those that plan on getting both games at retail should check any Toys R Us stores near you if you'd like to take advantage of getting the 2nd version for less..

    Shiny Stories

I'm knee deep in breeding hell right now in a avarice-fueled frenzy to get a shiny Cottonee, so that I may have a shiny Whimsicott, a pokemon that I love and is also said to resemble me. So while I spend the next few days giving May thighs of diamond on this god-forsaken island, you all should keep me company by telling me about any shiny pokemon you have, how you got them, or which ones you just wish you had. Currently, I have a good handful of shinies, with most of them being gifted to me from a friend who got them from another friend and those include: Leavanny Frillish (f) Cottonee Deerling Gourgeist Masquerain And then a couple that I got from my own doing!: Sandslash (Sangria) - Safari Zone (SoulSilver) Gogoat (Aurelie) - Egg (Alpha Sapphire) and yes, i do already have a shiny cottonee but its not MINE so it doesn't COUNT So please, while I wear out my Rydel tires, keep me sane and at least give me something to read on my long journey.
  12. It's possible that Sun & Moon flat-out do not have a National Pokédex, or at least will not until the Bank update. And you know how good Game Freak is about patching their games for compatibility. Out of all of the baffling features Game Freak has ever removed, this is by far the most baffling. I can't even believe it. Discuss.
  13. Looking to pick up Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon digitally on the Nintendo eShop? You can now pre-load the games in North America, letting you download them ahead of the November 18 release date so that you can be ready to play when the games launch then. Not sure about block size, but you're going to need around 3.2GB to download either game.
  14. First, a story. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II under T-Mobile. The last official update my phone received was Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Pokémon GO has a minimum Android OS requirement of 4.4 KitKat. Once the game dropped and I noticed the OS requirement, my heart sunk. At this point, I had three options: 1) Live life without Pokémon GO, which I wouldn't like as someone who's played every generation of Pokémon since Gen I while all my friends simply hopped onto a fad; 2) buy a new phone, which isn't something I'd want to do for a free fucking Pokémon spinoff; or 3) flash a custom ROM with a more recent version of Android compatible with Pokémon GO. Any warranties I may have had on my phone were long since expired, so I decided to install a custom ROM. I went with the most recent stable build of the most popular custom ROM for my phone: CyanogenMod 12.1, based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Play store still said my phone was incompatible, so I installed the game from a mirror. The game ran fine—by which I mean the only bugs I experienced were the same bugs everyone else was experiencing at the time. Update 0.37.0 released, blocking root users. Apparently, there are enough people cheating in a free fucking Pokémon spinoff for Niantic to put a blanket ban on root users such as myself. Flashing a custom ROM, especially one like CyanogenMod with all its features, generally comes with root access built in, so simply unrooting my phone isn't exactly an option for me. I managed to find a work-around that worked for about a month or so before Google updated SafetyNet API (the same root checker used with Android Pay) a few weeks ago, and now I'm shit out of luck. Keep in mind I spent hours modding my phone just so I can play the game in the first place, and now Niantic is blocking access for me because someone else decided to hack fake Pokémon into the game or mess with their GPS. Anyway, Google has been failing me recently and I don't have time to scour the internet for any answers. Has anyone gotten Pokémon GO to work on a rooted Android device recently?
  15. https://thesilphroad.com/news/pokemon-go-gen-2-and-ditto-code-found Among other things, but this is the big takeaway. Who's looking forward to catching the Johto Pokémon in Pokémon GO?
  16. The Official Pokémon TCG site has flashed back to 1997 for the release of XY Evolutions... Link: http://xy12.pokemontcgxy.com/en-us/ OMG, this is awesome!!! Window's 95 and the early days of the interwebz... I remember when sites used to look like that. HA! They even have MIDI BG music!!! XD Pic:
  17. Croagunk joins the roster of the arcade version of Pokkén Tournament in Japan on November 10.
  18. These Train On ads for Sun and Moon are amazing! If you haven't seen the other 2, check out on the spoiler below.
  19. In honor of Pokémon's 20th anniversary, TPCi is running monthly events to provide players with access to sixth-generation-friendly Mythical Pokémon. Several months ago, Darkrai was distributed via codes provided at retailers such as Gamestop. It was later revealed a while ago that they would be providing a second chance to get Darkrai in the next newsletter, but these plans have apparently been forsaken. Instead, Darkrai is now available in North America via a single universal code. To receive Darkrai in North America, start up Mystery Gift on a copy of any sixth-generation Pokémon game -- that is, Alpha Sapphire, Omega Ruby, X, or Y. Input the code DARKRAI20. This code only works on copies of the aforementioned games that did not previously receive Darkrai when it was being distributed via retailers earlier in the year, and it expires on October 31st. You should receive a Lv100 Darkrai holding an Enigma Berry that knows Dark Void, Ominous Wind, Nightmare, and Feint Attack. (Players in Europe or Australia have been able to do this with the code DARKRAI2016 for about a month now, and for them, this event ends on September 30th so move quickly if you haven't already done this.)
  20. I can't help but feel Pokémon GO helped a quite bit in all this.
  21. Yesterday, Nintendo updated their list of best-selling DS, Wii, 3DS, and Wii U games. And a lot of other stuff, but I don't care about that, this isn't about that. Naturally, what fanbase could look at this information and go "how can I get people fighting?" but the beloved Pokémon fanbase. And so it goes: as of the third quarter of 2016, Pokémon X & Y have officially outsold Pokémon Black & White. In other words, Generation VI is one of only two generations to result in a sales increase -- the other being Generation IV. Particularly notable is the fact that X & Y did this on the Nintendo 3DS (which means it didn't have any help from the DS's gargantuan install base, like the two generations prior to it). It also did most of the legwork prior to Pokémon Go, believe it or not, so this increase is not strictly attributable to that alone (although it likely expedited the process.) On a somewhat sadder note, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have also officially outsold HeartGold and SoulSilver, which continues the curious pattern of each remake selling more than the one before it. Your guess is as good as mine for that. The full list of sales for recent-generation Pokémon games, for those who are too lazy to click the above links, is as follows (in millions): Pokémon Diamond & Pearl (17.64m) Pokémon X & Y (15.64m) Pokémon Black & White (15.62m) Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire (13.18m) Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver (12.72m) Pokémon Black 2 & White 2 (unlisted, but I think it was around 8m) Pokémon Platinum (unlisted, but I think it was around 7m) How do you feel about this? Are you happy that Pokémon is doing well financially, in spite of the onslaught brought on by Yo-kai Watch in the East? Are you upset that Generation V -- which has a very devoted fanbase -- is now the worst-selling generation in the series? Are you surprised that Generation VI performed as well as it did, considering Pokémon's usual downward trend and the smaller install base? How do you think Sun & Moon will perform? Will they ever bother with another 'third version' given Platinum and Unova 2's omission from the top ten charts? Discuss.
