  1. So, I've been trying to trade with a friend online for over the past hour, and we just can't get it to work. I've followed all the steps according to this guide: http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/291719/how-to-i-trade-with-friends-over-the-internet-in-pokemon-sun-moon We disabled "Communication with Guests", and that didn't help. Anyone have a guess as to what's going on? Are there any additional requirements that need to be met?
  2. http://imgur.com/a/EFOqs Beware spoilers if you're refraining from seeing Pokemon from this region.
  3. Which is it and why is it Alolan Vulpix?
  4. Tired of wasting time checking doors? Save the effort, most small doors you can enter have a welcome mat. Early game and want to stock up on cheap healing items? Head to the vending machine in the Game Freak office on Island 2, after you beat the first trial of the island. Fresh Waters there are 150 Pokedollars, which is a pretty significant discount. (This may discount may extend as more drinks become available through progress.) What are some tips you have found from playing so far?
  5. The general pre-battle theme is one of the best for the franchise. Honestly most of the music shines, and Gladion's battle theme amazing. X3 What have been your favorite themes so far?
  6. Not thinking to take this seriously but http://www.gamespot.com/articles/new-pokemon-sun-and-moon-version-coming-to-nintend/1100-6445552/?utm_source=gamefaqs&utm_medium=partner&utm_content=news_module&utm_campaign=homepage
  7. Well it seems that the bans have begun for the people that pirated the game and I don't feel the least bit sorry for them. I will however feel sorry for the one that somehow got an early legit copy. I remember when I was super lucky in getting both Black and White from BJs one week early.
  8. Mobile site since I'm posting from my phone: http://m.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=11204051 The sale is for all video games but it runs to the 19th which means Pokemon Sun and Moon will fall under it. Those that plan on getting both games at retail should check any Toys R Us stores near you if you'd like to take advantage of getting the 2nd version for less..
  9. Nintendo Life - 10/10 Nintendo Insider - 10/10 Digital Spy - 5/5 IGN - 9/10 Destructoid - 9/10 Metro - 9/10 Gamereactor - 9/10 Game Informer - 8.5/10 Nintendo World Report - 8/10 Pocket Gamer - 8/10 Eurogamer - Essential GameXplain - Loved
  10. Well looks like we've got another reveal trailer before the game launches. Here's a link to the video (from GameXplain)
  11. General hype thread, I guess. We're one week away from release (unless you're in Europe, sorry friends). Just how excited are you to go to Alola? What are you most interested about in the new games? Please let us know so we can have new things to talk about and help make the wait a little more bearable. For me, playing the demo definitely helped sparked my interest in it more than ever. It plays really nice. I like how everything feels and looks compared to Pokémon X and Y.
  12. It's possible that Sun & Moon flat-out do not have a National Pokédex, or at least will not until the Bank update. And you know how good Game Freak is about patching their games for compatibility. Out of all of the baffling features Game Freak has ever removed, this is by far the most baffling. I can't even believe it. Discuss.
  13. First, a story. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II under T-Mobile. The last official update my phone received was Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Pokémon GO has a minimum Android OS requirement of 4.4 KitKat. Once the game dropped and I noticed the OS requirement, my heart sunk. At this point, I had three options: 1) Live life without Pokémon GO, which I wouldn't like as someone who's played every generation of Pokémon since Gen I while all my friends simply hopped onto a fad; 2) buy a new phone, which isn't something I'd want to do for a free fucking Pokémon spinoff; or 3) flash a custom ROM with a more recent version of Android compatible with Pokémon GO. Any warranties I may have had on my phone were long since expired, so I decided to install a custom ROM. I went with the most recent stable build of the most popular custom ROM for my phone: CyanogenMod 12.1, based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Play store still said my phone was incompatible, so I installed the game from a mirror. The game ran fine—by which I mean the only bugs I experienced were the same bugs everyone else was experiencing at the time. Update 0.37.0 released, blocking root users. Apparently, there are enough people cheating in a free fucking Pokémon spinoff for Niantic to put a blanket ban on root users such as myself. Flashing a custom ROM, especially one like CyanogenMod with all its features, generally comes with root access built in, so simply unrooting my phone isn't exactly an option for me. I managed to find a work-around that worked for about a month or so before Google updated SafetyNet API (the same root checker used with Android Pay) a few weeks ago, and now I'm shit out of luck. Keep in mind I spent hours modding my phone just so I can play the game in the first place, and now Niantic is blocking access for me because someone else decided to hack fake Pokémon into the game or mess with their GPS. Anyway, Google has been failing me recently and I don't have time to scour the internet for any answers. Has anyone gotten Pokémon GO to work on a rooted Android device recently?
  14. https://thesilphroad.com/news/pokemon-go-gen-2-and-ditto-code-found Among other things, but this is the big takeaway. Who's looking forward to catching the Johto Pokémon in Pokémon GO?
  15. You know what this is by now. Genesect. Requires a serial code that can be obtained at Gamestop (in US), EBGames (in Canada), or various other retailers (elsewhere.) Can be redeemed in X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire through Mystery Gift. Don't try being a smart-ass and redeeming it in Sun or Moon. Said retailers stop handing out these codes on November 24th, so get one before then. You can probably use the code for a while after that. They might distribute it via email later if you miss it. Hell if I know. Next month, Meloetta, is the last. That one doesn't have a code. Anticipate it. Discuss.
  16. Croagunk joins the roster of the arcade version of Pokkén Tournament in Japan on November 10.
  17. Looking to pick up Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon digitally on the Nintendo eShop? You can now pre-load the games in North America, letting you download them ahead of the November 18 release date so that you can be ready to play when the games launch then. Not sure about block size, but you're going to need around 3.2GB to download either game.
  18. The Official Pokémon TCG site has flashed back to 1997 for the release of XY Evolutions... Link: http://xy12.pokemontcgxy.com/en-us/ OMG, this is awesome!!! Window's 95 and the early days of the interwebz... I remember when sites used to look like that. HA! They even have MIDI BG music!!! XD Pic:
  19. These Train On ads for Sun and Moon are amazing! If you haven't seen the other 2, check out on the spoiler below.
  20. I can't help but feel Pokémon GO helped a quite bit in all this.
  21. As if there was ever any doubt after Mallow, the mid evos, and the datamine. Japanese names are apparently Junaipa, Gaogaen, and Ashirene respectively. No, we still don't know their types. The tweet's been deleted but Serebii reported on it anyway so whatever. Discuss.
