  1. The official usage in 25 years, since someone decided to just throw it into the English Instruction manual for Link to the Past, it seems that Ganondorf's official name is "Ganondorf Dragmire" Unless of course you don't want to consider the official Zelda website canon, but here it is: http://zelda.com/online-guide/ I've always kind of liked it, so I don't have qualms with this. But I can see some that might.
  2. I am NOT making this thread from scratch again. First off, my photobucket account: http://s1227.beta.photobucket.com/user/ehsteve12/library/Legend%20of%20Zelda%20Collection And YouTube for videos of some replicas: http://www.youtube.com/user/sp4life69 All replicas (except for the Ocarina) I made myself. All boxes have games in them (previously I had pics of games outside of boxes) GAMES: SPECIAL GAMES/DEMOS: SYSTEMS AND GAME ACCESSORIES/CASES: GUIDES/BOOKS/MANGA/SOUNDTRACKS: FIGURINES/AMIIBOS/PLUSHIES: MISCELLANEOUS: Zelda Monopoly (Collector's Edition): FIRST4FIGURES STATUES: REPLICAS: Unrelated, Piranha Plant I made:
  3. Thanks to some creative camera angles and the right equipment, you can create your own Guardian Battle Royale!
  4. Using what appears to be a bit of oversight and some ingenuity, user mety333 has created his own "flying machine" and reached the invisible ceiling in Breath of Wild. So, stock up on Stamina Elixirs and meals and get ready to glide to wherever your heart may take you:
  5. Available to download for both the Nintendo Switch and Wii U versions right now! I don't think there's any new content behind it, but people are reporting the game runs more smoothly with this new update. Check it out and see for yourself!
  6. Not what I was expecting when I saw the headline with a new Zelda subtitle. It's pretty interesting how much Nintendo is embracing other forms of advertising and merchandising though, and this sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Has anyone here played an escape room scenario before?
  7. Two weeks after release and Nintendo has just released two wallpapers (both formatted for PCs and cell phones) to celebrate the success of Breath of the Wild: "Passing the Torch" "We Are The Champions": ...those aren't the real names, I just made that up.
  8. Seems cool that Nintendo wants to do a behind-the-scenes video series on how the game was developed.
  9. If only the Switch launched a with a web browser so people could have both.
  10. Wanted to both save this since it took so many threads and polls to compile (about 6 months worth), but also with only 3 days left, I thought it would be neat to revisit the results of each categories as Breath of the Wild approaches to help flood yourself with Zelda hype and memories! ------------ Legend of Zelda celebrates its' 30th Anniversary this year, so I thought I'd put together a "Best of Zelda" - well, perhaps a few of them... to determine the Bests of Zelda as determined by NSider2 First off, let's determine the categories: Well, since this is for the people, it's also going to be BY the people. Nominate WHAT "Best" categories we should be looking at. It can be anything from Items, to Moments, to songs, etc... We're actually going to leave out games since I did that a few months back ( http://nsider2.com/forums/index.php/topic/606659-nsider2s-favourite-zelda-games-results/ )and we've only had Tri Force Heroes since then... To get as much feedback as possible, please only nominate no more than 10 categories we should be looking at. Once we've got a decent number of nominations we'll see WHICH "Bests" will then get specific nominations. The Winners Are: The A-Listers *Link - Wind Waker *Zelda - Wind Waker *Ganon/dorf - Wind Waker SURPRISE BONUS CATEGORIES *LinkxZelda - Skyward Sword *LinkvGanondorf - Wind Waker The Populace *Antagonist (Non-Ganon) - Dark Link *Boss - Dungeon Final - Stallord; Mini - Dark Link (OoT) *Non-Boss Enemy - Stalfos *Companion/Sidekick - Midna *Impa - Skyward Sword *Supporting Characters - Full game - Majora's Mask; Single NPC - Happy Mask Salesman *Race/Tribe (Gorons, Zora, etc) - Zora Let's Tell a Story... *Title Name - Link to the Past *Story/Narrative - Majora's Mask *Opening Sequence - Ocarina of Time *Moments - Happy - Anju/Kafei Reunion - Sad - Deku Butler finds his son - Bittersweet - Wind Waker Ending - Surprising - Ravio is Link's counterpart - Speech - Ganondorf's Final Speech (WW) *Final Boss Fight - Twilight Princess *Ending - Wind Waker Sights and Sounds *Music - Full Game - Ocarina of Time - Recurring Single - Zelda's Lullaby - One-time Single - Ballad of the Windfish - Title theme - Wind Waker *Ocarina Song - Ballad of the Windfish *Overworld/Setting - Visually - Zelda U; Exploration factor - Wind Waker *Style/Visuals/Design - Character/Creature - Volvagia (OoT); Weapon - Hylian Shield Game On *Combat - Wind Waker *Dungeon - Stone Tower Temple *Gameplay Mechanic (Past/Future, Seasons, Minish etc.) - Wall-painting Link (ALBW) *Generation/Console (NES - LoZ, AoL; N64 - OoT, MM; etc) - N64 *Item/Weapon - One-off (or 2-3); Recurring - One-off - Medallions (LttP); Recurring - Hookshot/Clawshot *Mask - Transformation - Fierce Deity's Mask; Non-transformation - Bunny Hood *Master Sword - Initial location - Sacred Grove - LttP; Final location - Ganondorf's forehead - WW; Design - Twilight Princess *Minigame - Horseback Archery - OoT *Puzzle(s) - Game with best - A Link Between Worlds; Specific - Stone Tower Temple - Majora's Mask *Sidequest - Trading, Collecting, Other - Trading - Anju/Kafei (MM) - Collecting - Maiamais (ALBW) - Other - Completing the Bomber's Notebook (MM And there you have it; NSider2's BESTS of Zelda ------------------ So there it was. Did it psyche you up? Are there winners you don't think deserved them? Any other comments?
  11. Topic. I know there's a bunch of games and picking a single song from each is not easy, so feel free to skip a few games. Also, you don't have to give reason if you don't want to. LoZ - Overworld. It's a defining song for the series, hard to choose otherwise AoL - Palace Theme. I like to think Melee gave this song the exposure it needed. It's catchy, and has a nice flow. LttP - Tough one. I'm going with Lost Woods though because this particular version doesn't re-appear. LA - Ballad of the Windfish. Hands down. OoT - Kakariko Village. I absolutely LOVE this song, and would've chosen it for LttP but see above. MM - Song of Healing. So many feels. Clock Town day 2 is second. WW - Ending Credits theme. No it's not cheating. TP - Midna's Lament. The game has a stellar soundtrack, but this is one shot full of feels. It gets it. Midna's Theme though... SS - Ballad of the Goddess; in particular when Zelda is singing it. Fi's Farewell is a very close second. ALBW - Lorule Field theme. Cheating a bit here because the Dark World theme from LttP is so killer. This mix of it is also awesome. ST - Hyrule Field theme. It's a really nice mix on the classic, riding that train... so good.
  12. It is being reported that Target stores that will receive the special edition of Breath of the Wild will have 1 to 4 copies, depending on store volume. I expect it'll be a venture you'll have to stand in line for, but worth it if you want it enough and haven't yet secured one. Might want to call ahead first and make sure they'll have a copy before you do. Switch units will be more generously available, Target stores that will carry the grey console will have 9 on the lower end, and may carry 30 or more, again depending on store volume. These numbers were reported by Nintendeal from a source which has proven to be accurate in the past. Given that stores are starting to receive their actual stock, I believe it's genuine. I also assume this is an indicator for other major outlets as well, but YMMV. Sounds like Nintendo may have done a decent job of providing adequate stock for the console? Special editions for Zelda on the other hand...
  13. Just a heads up, Amazon has cancelled a number of BotW Master Edition preorders; I believe this is a result of overselling allocation, so check your emails!
  14. Let's try this again. Nintendo has been regularly sharing new screenshots and artwork for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild through Facebook and aims to do so until the launch of the game. Feel free to share and talk about them here. Today's image gives us a look at concept art of a worker in Hyrule.
  15. As for me: I pre-ordered a Switch, a pro controller, and the special edition of Breath of the Wild. I'm avoiding playing other Zelda games, or games of a similar genre. I'm going to try to get ahead on my College classes so that I don't have to worry about any of them on launch week. I'll probably get some snacks and/or Pizza before launch day. Staying the heck away from social media when the game launches until I sit down with my copy. How are you preparing?
  16. Mod edit: There's no evidence that proves that the game has actually been leaked at this point in time. Take the source with a grain of salt until further notice. Wanted to let people know that Zelda BotW for Nintendo Wii U has been leaked and spoilers are going around.
  17. With two weeks away, what are your final 'hopes' for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? This is to be a 100% spoiler-free thread, so please don't mention anything that's been shown in any screenshots, videos, or articles. If someone posts something that they want in the game and it IS in the game, please do NOT confirm it. Ex: "I hope (weapon) is in the game" - "It is, don't worry" Alright: -Somehow work in the 'Dark World' theme -A Pegasus Boots item or upgrade for extra fast dashing, or perma-run that doesn't affect stamina -Trading quests!!!
  18. The Expansion Pass will be available on March 3 for $19.99/£17.99/€19.99, the same day as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild launches for Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
  19. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/02/the_legend_of_zelda_breath_of_the_wild_screenshot_confirms_returning_character Beedle in BotW confirmed.
  20. Very simple poll/question. We've seen 3 (I believe) official trailers now, and there's been quite a bit of gameplay footage (which I have seen bare any of) that's been shown. As far as I know they've yet to show the standard, iconic green garb of Nintendo's legendary hero. So I ask you TWO things: Will it appear in the game at all? Will it have significance?
  21. If you pre order Breath of the Wild for Switch or Wii U at GameStop you'll receive this breathtaking poster... Link: http://www.gamestop.com/games/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-nintendo-switch/141904#bonusFeatures *in spoiler do to size* OMG! That shit needs to go on my wall! Though I can't help but feel it looks like an in-store promo poster for the game, with the Switch, ESRB rating, and "Also available on Wii U" being on there.
  22. This comes from a recent Le Monde interview with Eiji Aonuma... That's kind of disappointing that there's no themed dungeons, but it's not really a deal-breaker. I guess with the open nature of the game and this new info, they really are going back to a more original style like the first game on NES, especially since it was Zelda's 30th in 2016.
  23. Once again coming Aonuma-san himself... Man, this is disappointing. I feel like they should have done something to take advantage of the Switch's features to really make people want to get the Switch version over the Wii U version besides, running/looking better and being portable. This is almost like putting Twilight Princess on the Wii at launch and not including motion controls. Now that I think of it nether the Wii U or Switch version will have anything that really uses the system's features, since they took out the gamepad's touchscreen controls for the Wii U version. Oh well...
