  1. http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/kirby-canvas-curse-wii-u http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/animal-crossing-wild-world-wii-u In North America, Nintendo DS titles Kirby Canvas Curse and Animal Crossing: Wild World will be arriving on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U starting this Thursday.
  2. It was revealed via 13AM Games' Tumblr that Runbow Deluxe Edition (the physical Wii U release) will be hitting store shelves on October 25th. The price will be $29.99 which will include the game, all the DLC, and volumes 1 and 2 of the Official Soundtrack. Shantae will be a free download on October 25th also. So you'll be able to play as your favorite half-genie! In other news, Runbow Pocket (& Pocket Deluxe) have been delayed to 2017. If you want to discuss that, @Stopdoor made a topic about that version having no local multiplayer that I will link below. I made this topic because the other one didn't mention the release date or the Shantae DLC. RUNBOW That is all.

  4. Out of curiosity, I was browsing the pages for the new Zelda series amiibo that recently went up for pre-order on Best Buy this morning. For two of the amiibo items, namely the Ocarina of Time Link and Toon Link/Zelda 2-pack amiibo, they come with a description that indicates something I had never heard of before. This is...oddly specific? They blatantly say you can use these amiibo with the appropriate game (granted, 3D/HD isn't stated, but I wouldn't think they mean the original games), which isn't something that was announced by Nintendo. As of right now they're only known to have unique functionality in Breath of the Wild. I compared these descriptions with the ones for other amiibo (including the 8-bit Link amiibo which doesn't specify a game) as well as these same amiibo at different retailer sites, but it's just these two amiibo at Best Buy that mention that they're allegedly compatible with Zelda games that currently do not support amiibo. Thoughts on this? Could this be a mistake or an actual leak? Keep in mind that Animal Crossing: New Leaf is in fact getting amiibo support later this year despite being released many years ago, so this isn't necessarily impossible.

  6. You may or may not be aware, but Bloodstained has been pushed back to a 2018 release date. That has left a lingering question of just how relevant the Wii U will be when it actually comes out. Iga suggests a possibility that it may be published on NX instead. - http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/10/05/why-bloodstained-was-delayed-to-2018 It sounds like the PS Vita version may also be dropped. How do you feel about this? Should creators force themselves to publish to dead and dying hardware, to appease backer goals that were more relevant when their kickstarter was in full swing? Should they instead assess the situation and try to go for the spirit of those backed goals, publishing on new hardware when available? Or do you feel that the death of a system means they could rightly move on without trying to appease a small section of the backer's desires?
  7. So i was planning on increasing my Wii U selection at some point - already have a decent sized list comboned from memory and my Eshop Wishlist I admit im not completely sure about some of these, so im not sure about some (due to being unsure if I'll actually like them, never hearing about them before, or a few of the games also being on Steam and not sure on which platform to get it on) And yes, im aware that it's late into the Wii Us lifecycle and the NX is coming out next year - but it wouldn't hurt to get some more various games, would it? Also to note i already have: Nintendoland,Super Mario 3D World,Hyrule Warriors,LEGO Dimensions, Kirby's Dream Land 3 (Wii U VC), Earthbound (Wii U VC), Lost Reavers for Wii U Are there any other Wii U games that are worth considering looking at that i already don't have listed? (Games from Wishlist/memory are in separate spoiler tags since putting them into one would be too long - hopefully it works properly) Don't know how much input I'll end up getting from this, but figured it wouldn't hurt posting it anyway

  9. https://www.facebook.com/LegendofZelda/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1173232742737854 Nintendo recently shared a small handful of new screenshots showcasing some of the things you can gather in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which releases for Wii U and NX in 2017.
  10. Hey all, When trying to troubleshoot why @Bowser81889 was having difficulty accessing Ninfora, we discovered a frustrating issue: Nintendo's browsers do not appear to support certificates beyond SHA-1. This means that the SHA-256 certificate used by Ninfora causes the browsers to display an error message when attempting to access the site. What we are wondering now is whether it is worth our time and effort to work around this. Given that many of us are fans of Nintendo and enjoy using their consoles, it's possible that there is an abnormally higher ratio of people here that would enjoy using the site on a Wii U and/or 3DS. Sadly, with the site-wide encryption that was enabled recently, this may not be a viable option, as Nintendo does not appear to support the level of encryption that Ninfora demands. Similarly, Nintendo's browser also lags behind in other respects, with only partial functionality for web standards that are becoming more common in modern browsers. The workarounds aren't pretty, and "proper" workarounds could require quite a bit of time and effort to implement properly. If the lack of support for these devices isn't a major detractor for the community, then we would honestly prefer to leave the implementation as-is and focus our efforts on more pressing issues. In that vein, I'd like to gauge feedback from the community to determine where we should go from here. Likewise, if there's a stupidly obvious or simple solution that's been overlooked, please do post it! I've only just today learned of this issue, and I would not be at all surprised if there is a more elegant way of handling things. this feels like the days of Internet Explorer 6 all over again

  13. It's safe to say there aren't going to be many, if any, new first-party Wii U games until the release of the NX, with the exception of Color Splash. Are there any first-party game soundtracks that have stuck with you, some that you enjoy listening to even while not gaming? For me, I absolutely love the soundtrack for Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, and listen to many of its tracks almost every day in my playlist.
  14. http://kotaku.com/nintendos-big-fall-wii-u-game-briefly-went-on-sale-two-1786995541 If you were planning to pre-load Paper Mario: Color Splash, you can't anymore. Kind of wish Nintendo had continued that thing they did once with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, where the game was officially released on the Nintendo eShop earlier than the retail launch.
