  1. http://serebii.net/news/2016/12-October-2016.shtml http://serebii.net/news/2016/13-October-2016.shtml Follow those links to get the candy. Alolan Grimer is Poison/Dark Jangmo-o evolves into a Dragon/Fighting-type, and evolves twice. Silvally evolves from Type: Null. Its ability is basically Multitype except different. It has Not Judgment as a signature move. Some guy/girl/snowflake named Ilima is the first trial captain.
  2. Scizor joins the roster of the arcade version of Pokkén Tournament in Japan on October 20.
  3. via Nintendo Life Download size of the game is out. Anyone looking to download this should be in the know. It's one of the largest games for the system, up there with the likes of Bravely Default. Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon release for Nintendo 3DS on November 18.
  4. According to Serebii, the estimated file size for Sun and Moon was announced at around 3.2GB, which is about double the size of any Gen 6 game. I'm hoping this means a larger and overall better game. Hopefully better texture quality, larger maps, better 3D models, etc. With a game file double the size of ORAS, I'm hoping for some great things in the next gen. What do you guys think this huge increase in file size might mean for the game? Are we looking at massive lag like X and Y, or a far better built game? Considering what's been revealed so far, it doesn't justify how large the file is, so I wonder what else they're holding back? Renewal of the hype for Sun and Moon? For me, yes. I'm looking forward to it.
  5. For some reason, the mythical Pokémon Hoopa is currently being distributed via serial code in North America. Specifically, the universal serial code 2016HOOPA. To receive Hoopa, enter Mystery Gift from any sixth-generation game (i.e. X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire) and select "get with code." Then, input the above code (2016HOOPA). This Hoopa is level 50 and knows Hyperspace Hole, Psychic, Astonish, and Nasty Plot. If brought to a PokéMart in Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire, it will also allow you to obtain the Prison Bottle item that allows Hoopa to change form. Unlike recent serial codes, it doesn't matter whether or not you have previously received Hoopa -- this is a new event that everyone can claim, even if they have received Hoopa before. Consequently you should make sure to grab it before the code expires. The event ends on October 9th, right before the Volcanion event begins, so act fast! Don't forget to grab Keldeo and Darkrai as well -- they have ongoing events too! Volcanion will also have a serial code distributed via Gamestop beginning October 10th, so also keep an eye out for that. Discuss.
  6. As those who play the mainline Pokemon game know, there are remake of classic gen games on newer hardware on the Nintendo handheld line. Starting all the way back on the GBA with Gen 1 remakes of FireRed and LeafGreen, followed by the Gen 2 remakes of HeartGold and SoulSilver on the DS and last but not least is the Gen 3 remakes on the 3DS, OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire. Probably in another year or two will be getting the Gen 4 remakes on 3DS, the NX or another handheld so what would be their remake names? Discuss.
  7. It was announce shortly after that, that Megas are banned from Pokemon Tourny and supposedly banned from the online modes in S&M if NeoGaf is believed. Can't wait for the demo!
  8. I had this discussion with some friends a few months back, and was wondering how others felt on the subject. I know 2D sprites have a lot of nostalgia value, but I feel I get that more from the over-world than from battles. I love seeing my Pokemon in 3D, and am really glad we're finally getting that. What do you think?
  9. So I found some old Pokemon art cards by Ken Sugimori on Twitter so I decided to look for the rest on Google and these are the ones I've found so far: Translation of what is on each card: For more information on what Carddass is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carddass This all originally started when I found a card like these that had Cubone on it, I originally thought that it really did look like a baby Kanghaskhan, at first, a picture from the anime proved that theory wrong, but now there's been another image from the anime that shows it's still a plausible theory.
  10. In honor of 20 years, blah blah blah, free ponies. To receive Keldeo, start up Mystery Gift on any sixth-generation Pokémon game including X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire, and select "receive via Internet." No serial code or trip to Gamestop is needed, just a basic Internet connection. This Keldeo is Level 100 and knows attacks. Be sure to claim Keldeo before the event expires on October 24th -- once this date passes, it will no longer be possible to obtain Keldeo in Generation VI without trading or cheating. Seeing as it's a free online event you can even reset for, you really have no excuse. There will also be additional merchandise centering around Keldeo for the next month, which will make an excellent gift if you have any younger siblings who watch MLP but aren't quite able to recognize the full cast and as such are vulnerable to being misled. I think next month is the Genesect event at Gamestop but you're probably more excited for the upcoming Volcanion distribution from there instead huh. Discuss.
  11. Pokemon Generation Episode 4 is out! Gamexplain Pokemon Generation Ep. 4 Discussion.
  12. Pretty cool video, the one I'm impressed with and never saw myself actually draw to this Pokemon is Alolan Wigglytuff. That Fire/Fairy, that's hype! I decides this before they said this may be a top tier Pokemon in competitions. Also, the Alolan Machamp, has there every been Fighting/Electric typing before? That Varjar (sp?) is a nice touch, tho. Anybody have a fave form the video or have another suggestion?
  13. Lets say Professor Oak has upped his game, and he's letting you choose the earliest form of any Pokemon that wasn't one per game or event exclusive. You know nothing about the region of the Pokemon world that you're in, so gym leaders and obtainable Pokemon don't effect your choice Who do you choose for what's likely to be your journey's main Pokemon partner, and why?
  14. Pokémon Go has been an interesting experience for me. At first, it was just hearing the buzz about the new mobile game from my little sister after she returned from college. By the end of that day, my family had the game downloaded and my sister and I had already went on our first Pokémon Go adventure. It was an adventure that took us behind a local school at night just to hopefully catch an elusive Golduck. Since then, I've had a few more walks around my neighborhood and several family trips to local parks and the board walk. The way Pokémon Go has impacted my family has been somewhat annoying and exciting...For the first time, I did not have to go to a forum site like this to talk about something video game related. Beyond that, Pokémon Go has definitely reinvigorated the appeal of Pokémon for me. After being burned out with Pokémon X, the simplicity of Pokémon Go brought me in quickly and continues to give me some level of enjoyment daily. Pokémon Go also got me seeking out Pokémon merchandise. What I use to love to do when I was younger was collecting Pokémon cards and loving the "Christmas Day" feel of opening up a series of packs just to see what new Pokémon I would get and admire their art. Riding the energy of Pokémon Go, I recently did purchase quite a bit of Pokémon cards. The Pokémon card packs and sets I purchased about a month ago really took me back. Again, I was experiencing that joy of opening each new pack and celebrating when I got a cool looking card and/or a great artistic take on a Pokémon. It was an awesome time and I'm considering doing it again the next time my store has a sales event going on. Pokémon Go not only brought me back to the enjoyment I have had with Pokémon games at their core, but also brought me back to a child-like excitement for the series and merchandise. Looking ahead to Sun and Moon, I'm considering getting both versions now because I'm in the mood to catch 'em all thanks to Pokémon Go. So how has your experience with Pokémon Go impacted your love for Pokémon? Has the popular game and all of its buzz gotten you more into Pokémon than in recent years? Discuss.
  15. Not huge update, but Niantic is adding a feature back and more functionality for the Pokémon GO Plus... It's nice to see more functionality beeing added to the Pokémon GO Plus... Though, I just wish they'd give us some settings for the device like, turn off vibration, set which to notify you first on if both a PKMN and PokéStop are near by, set which balls to use, let the device notify you of only certain PKMN, let the device notify you of rare/high CP PKMN so you can take out your phone and have more success in catching that PKMN.
  16. I know this may be considered a bit of a generic question in the field of Pokemon. However a recent debate in certain social circles has me interested, so I wanted to ask current opinions. You have to pick one... which is your favorite? Eevee is also fair game, of course!
  17. What's your favorite Pokémon game to do Nuzlocke runs on? I've tried it with most of the games, in every generation, and my two favorites so far are HeartGold/SoulSilver and Black 2/White 2. I like B2/W2 because it's one of my favorite Pokémon games (I prefer it over B/W), has a wide variety of Pokémon from multiple generations from the start, and has the useful Habitat function on the Pokédex to keep track of your Pokémon encounters and catches on every route. I like HG/SS because I grew up with Gen II, you get an extra-long game with two regions, and have Pokémon followers, which really captures the spirit of Nuzlocke in my opinion (feeling an extra bond with your Pokémon). I think Sun/Moon will be great for Nuzlockes as well. Can't wait to try it out.
  18. Just wondering. The next big Pokémon adventure launches on Nintendo 3DS on November 18, but have you already decided which version of the game you think you'll be playing? Feel free to tell us any reasons for your choice! Discuss.
  19. Here we are, about to close the curtain on the Wii U era, and one of the games I most wanted to see made into reality this generation was never made. I mean, there's still time, but if Nintendo hasn't said anything about it by now I doubt it's coming. Anyway, I always thought the Gamepad would have made an ideal camera. And with all of the new Pokemon introduced since 1999, there would have been no shortage of material to work with. I know we got Fatal Frame, but that's just not the same experience, you know? Anyway, I think it's a huge missed opportunity, and I'm wondering how many of you out there share that opinion. Would you have wanted to see the N64 classic continued on the Wii U?
  20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8lfI66T5II An overall decent set of news, in my opinion. The famed 'rugby monkey' from numerous leaks finally shows itself, and although customization has been confirmed for a while it's still nice to have it in writing. The Lycanroc typing is a bit disappointing, though. The next set of Sun & Moon news will be released on October 4th, two weeks from now. Discuss.
  21. The Wall Street Journal got to talk to the CEO of the Pokemon Company recently and a couple of very interesting quotes came out of it: From the CEO himself: And later down in the article: Source: http://www.wsj.com/articles/pokemon-to-create-games-for-nintendos-next-system-1474371834 So does this confirm that it's a hybrid? And if so does it also confirm we're never going to get a console Pokemon game since the NX is still part handheld?
