  1. http://nintendoeverything.com/fire-emblem-echoes-amiibo-apparently-unlock-a-special-dungeon/ There's been a fair share of news about Fire Emblem Echoes this past week, but I'd like to share one that really caught my attention. According to Amazon Japan, a special dungeon exists in Fire Emblem Echoes that can be challenged if you use the Alm and Celica amiibo. Presumably, this is a new dungeon added to the game, and not one that was originally found in Fire Emblem Gaiden. There's unfortunately not too much information about it at this time, but we know that it seems to exist. What are your thoughts on this new addition? Does this influence your interest in buying the Alm and Celica amiibo?

  3. https://www.reddit.com/r/FireEmblemHeroes/comments/5snz3w/1k_spent_barracks_maxed_ama/ So this was shared a few times in the Fire Emblem Heroes thread already, but I'd like to focus on this story by making a new topic for it. I won't criticize the guy for spending so much money on something he wanted, but it is fascinating for me to see someone invest so much in the game. For laughs, check out this guy who spent almost $500 for one Hector but never got them. What are your thoughts on generous spending on mobile games like Fire Emblem Heroes, which is essentially a virtual lottery?
  4. https://fecipher.jp/ Rise to honor from Elibe and Hoshido in the upcoming expansion of Fire Emblem Cipher, the Fire Emblem trading card game! Basic Rules In Fire Emblem Cipher, players create their own army of characters from the Fire Emblem universe, with one of their characters being assigned the role of the leader of the army during battle. Any card with a Field Cost of 1 can act as the army's leader, so many of your favorite characters can step up to the front line and guide your way to victory! A player's army is contained in a single deck, which must contain at least 50 cards in order to do battle. There are a variety of themed starter decks that you may purchase to get ready to play, or you can buy booster packs for even more ways to strategize. Or you can just collect them, that's fine too. The objective of any battle in Fire Emblem Cipher is to best your opponent's army with the strength of your own. Draw a card from your deck to your hand and choose which one to set as a bond card in your bond row each turn, having them serve as the resource for deploying the cards from your hand to the battlefield by paying their respective Field Cost or Class Change Cost with your bond cards. Then, after your preparations have been made, direct your units to utilize their skills and combat prowess to overcome their enemies! To win the battle, you must defeat the leader of your opponent's army before they do to your own. Each army leader carries a shield, the Fire Emblem, equipped with five orbs that protect them from falling in combat each time they normally would otherwise. However, each defeat of a Leader instead shatters one orb, and if no orbs remain when a leader is defeated in combat once more, they will fall and the opposing army claims victory! Of course, your leader isn't battling alone. Other members of your army can join up in the battlefield and fight alongside your leader, each with their own unique skills and traits. To do this, you must deploy your units from your hand to the battlefield by paying a cost. This cost is paid by counting the number of cards set in your bond row, which are called bond cards, and at least one of them must have a symbol (color) that matches the card you wish to deploy. You may only add a bond card to your bond row once per turn, and cards set in the bond row cannot join the battlefield, so choose wisely! Put simply, you may deploy any number of cards from your hand to the battlefield that can total up to the number of bond cards that are set in your bond row each turn. Command your units to attack your opponent's and defeat them in combat to remove them from the battlefield and send them to their retreat. In this game, defenders do not counterattack, so attacks that fail to defeat an opponent will not cause anyone to lose their lead units. When a round of combat begins, both players draw a card from the top of their decks and assign them to their support space. Cards set in the support space become a partner and team up with their friendly lead unit to assist them by lending their aid and utilizing support skills. To determine the winning side of a round of combat, compare the sums of the lead unit's power (left number) and the partners's aid (right number). If the offense side's combined strength is greater than or equal to the defense side's, then the offense wins and the defender is sent to their retreat. If the offense side's combined strength is not, then nothing happens to either lead unit. When combat resolves, the partners of both sides will always go to their retreat, regardless of the outcome of combat (unless otherwise stated). Check out the official introduction video to see another explanation of the basics on how to play. For more rules, check out the official how to play guide (Japanese), EmblemWiki's comprehensive rules, and ShadowDrifter's in-depth video tutorial. Refer to all of that before asking any questions. 5. http://nintendoeverything.com/fire-emblem-heroes-earns-over-2-9-million-in-first-day-downloaded-more-than-two-million-times/ nice
  6. Edit: There seem to be some confusion about how this event actually works. You aren't voting for "what characters to put in the game", you're voting on what characters will have secondary versions with special outfits in the future, and a larger selection will be featured on some free wallpaper. That said, they could still use the votes to help gauge character popularity, so by all means vote how you want! I know I made the right choice for my day 1 pick. Who did you choose so far?
  7. Nintendo is recommending that you have at least 1 GB of free space if you plan to download Fire Emblem Heroes.... Link: http://gonintendo.com/stories/272825-nintendo-customer-service-recommends-1-gb-of-free-space-for-fire I plan on downloading this on my Nexus 7 tablet, cuz I feel this game would work better on a bigger screen. It's only 16 GB and has a few GBs of free space, so I should be good (hopefully it runs good). If I really need the space, I could always download it on my iPhone SE which is 64 GB. Yeah, this really isn't a problem for me, but I could see it being for some.
  8. Corrin skin found in Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World.
  9. This technically isn't new information, but it's apparently easy to overlook. In the European Fire Emblem Direct, there is an onscreen note that appears during the segment of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia that says the game only be available with English voiceover for the localized release. Keep in mind that the game has only been shown in the Direct with the original Japanese, presumably since plans for the English voicework are still underway. Now, this isn't terribly surprising, as the previous Fire Emblem game on Nintendo 3DS, Fire Emblem Fates, lacked it as well. But given that Fire Emblem Awakening actually did offer it, it's still a bit interesting that the series will continue to move away from dual audio. On that note, I don't think many are expecting the original Japanese voiceover to be available in Fire Emblem Heroes or Fire Emblem Warriors either, but it'd be nice otherwise. What are your thoughts on this tidbit? While I don't imagine it's a dealbreaker for anyone, does anyone else find it to be a peeve that dual audio isn't regularly practiced by Nintendo anymore?
  10. Honest question. Was thinking about it recently in light of recent Fire Emblem stuff and I'm wondering if maybe Tharja got eclipsed by Camilla or not in terms of popularity.
  11. Just announced on Nintendo Treehouse.
  12. So they announced that Fire Emblem Warriors is not only coming out on Nintendo Switch, but will also release for New Nintendo 3DS systems at the same time this fall. Is anyone who was already looking forward to playing Fire Emblem Warriors on Nintendo Switch making any reconsiderations to play it on New Nintendo 3DS instead? Or both? How do you feel about the game also being developed for New Nintendo 3DS?
  13. So for the next mainline entry on Nintendo Switch, what would you like to see them do with the game?
  14. Chrom is the first character confirmed to appear in the game. I'm happy.
  15. Welcome to an experience I can't really describe in words and pictures alone but I'll try my best. A very special Taiwanese company decided to publish a Fire Emblem bootleg game for the Game Boy Color. The technical name for this bootleg would be something like... Fire Emblem: The Reincarnation of Light and Dark in English. But for all intents and purposes, I'm just gonna refer to it as Bootleg Fire Emblem. (Yeah, I know there's other bootleg stuff of Fire Emblem 7 and all that, but this one is more infamous.) Note: I have played through about half of this game on the predecessor to this forum. It'll take me a while to get all of the chapters that I've done up to this point uploaded on here, but they should be pretty frequent updates until we reach where this playthrough left off. Table of Contents: Chapter 1 (Part 1) - "What is This, a Playthrough for Ants?" Chapter 1 (Part 2) - "......"
  16. Let's go! Not a let's play, I'll just be posting interesting screen shots/my thoughts as I play through the game/asking for advice and opinions on certain things. Exactly the same case as when I played through TMS. I'll be talking about spoilers openly here, but keep in mind this is my first play-through, so don't spoil me. And with that, it's time to take a nap on the ground!
  17. I honestly thought this was gonna be pretty bad when I went into it, but it was actually a pretty informative and well made video. The guy was very matter of fact about everything and didn't focus on the things you'd think he would. The Tear Ring Saga thing was very interesting to learn about. Can't say I really fault either side in that. I jumped on Fire Emblem at the post GBA days, so I'm fairly happy with the way the series is from 6-12, more or less. Though, having played 11 and some of 12, which I hear is fairly faithful to the original, mainly 11, I can see where the difference are and why that would peeve people off. Also, playing through Awakening now, I can totally understand why people have such... strong opinions about it. I don't share those opinions, for the most part, but I do see where they are coming from. Going from Shadow Dragon to Awakening is some serious whip-lash, let me tell you.
  18. https://imgur.com/a/8y2bi The Cutting Room Floor and Source Gaming have recently been looking over new datamined content from a new update for Miitomo and found some mysterious images. It was initially speculated that these were related to Zelda, but other designs clearly point towards Fire Emblem once the emblem from the logo was recognized. From this, we can see that the game appears to take place on an entirely new continent!
  19. http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/fire-emblem-shadow-dragon-wii-u The North American release is finally happening!
  20. Looks like they're prepping to talk about the series again soon, most likely about the mobile title.
  21. I know there's already a topic to talk about this, but I'd like to help bring more attention to something that recently came to light. So yesterday, Intelligent Systems hosted another one of their regular broadcasts for Fire Emblem Cipher (a trading card game released in Japan) on Niconico to talk about the upcoming release of the seventh expansion coming out later this month, as well as what's to come with the brand in terms of merchandise and what you can expect to see in future expansions. Prior to this, we had previously learned that the eighth expansion would be based on Fire Emblem Awakening (as well as Genealogy of the Holy War), and over the past few months we got glimpses of new character artwork for the cards to be released in that set. This continued in yesterday's broadcast, which included two new illustrations for Chrom, the main character of Awakening. One is pretty typical and not really worth discussing for the purpose of this topic, but then we have this other one that is beyond expectations: Dubbed Risen King Chrom, this is Chrom as he appears as he was turned into a Risen (an undead soldier born from evil magic) in the alternate timeline of Awakening in which the fell dragon Grima succeeded in his plot to conquer the world, which included killing Chrom as seen in the game's opening cutscene. Ryota Kawade (the guy on the left, an Intelligent Systems employee) discussed that Series 8 would delve into this theme and include a new gimmick involving the Risen (we also saw card art for a generic Risen Soldier). It's pretty wild and I'm personally excited to learn more of it next year. What are your thoughts on this Chrom? Can this guy ever get a break?
  22. Now that we have an understanding as to how the system works, how would you like to see the Fire Emblem series make its appearance on the Nintendo Switch?
