  1. It seems like Level-5 games may no longer be releasing outside of Japan , as they have quietly shut down their NA branch... I really hope this isn't because Yo-Kai Watch didn't really take off in the west like they wanted it to. Also, there was they new Layton game with Layton's daughter that didn't do as well as the other Layton games. This is really said to hear and I really hope this isn't the case, because Level-5 makes some great games. PLZ... 🙏 ...Hopefully they can still find publishers like NIntendo to release games in the west.
  2. http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/picross-3d-wii-u For North America tomorrow. I wonder if they'll do anything with the downloadable puzzles or just leave those behind in this release.
  3. Animal Crossing is a series of idyllic life-simulators published by Nintendo. Originating in 2001 with a primitive Nintendo 64 version of a game we later received as Animal Crossing for Gamecube, the series went on to become one of Nintendo's best-selling new franchises -- even obtaining keys positions within Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros., among other games. The most recent entry within this series is Animal Crossing: New Leaf for Nintendo 3DS, and as such it's the most likely to be discussed, but feel free to talk about every other game in the series here: from the original Gamecube classic, to the virtual console release of Wild World, or even Happy Home Designer! Because this series is heavily oriented around a strong sense of community, especially in more recent games, I believe a general discussion thread is fully warranted so that users can easily help each other obtain furniture, villagers, stock prices, or even just fun multi-player experiences. As the game is fairly old, threads about these subjects are not likely to survive on their own, but consolidated -- and especially with the impending update -- it should be more than practical to establish a nice little Ninfora Animal Crossing community. News: (will be cleared out every month or so, probably) The "Welcome amiibo" update for New Leaf is live! This adds a number of new features such as the campground, none of which are well-documented right now. A fifth set of amiibo cards, featuring fifty characters not present in New Leaf, is scheduled to release soon. The current release date is November 3rd in Japan, November 11th in Europe, and December 2nd in North America. Here is a list of the new fifty villagers. An Animal Crossing direct was held on November 2nd at 7am PDT. Please discuss it here. Animal Crossing: Wild World released on the Wii U virtual console on October 13th in North America, making it a nice time to rediscover the series's cozy DS entry. It was slightly edited so that Nookington's no longer requires multi-player, but all multi-player functionality has otherwise been stripped out. November is here, which means mushrooms will spawn on the ground every day (when possible) and the Nooklings will be selling the Harvest series all month in New Leaf. Other New Leaf events this month include: Harvest Festival: November 24th Fishing Tourney: November 19th The Ninfora Animal Crossing community: (users will be listed in the format [User] - Town: 3DS friend code, dream address (optional).) [Chickadee] - Gardenia: 0001-3835-6640 [Chrom] - Iris: 2234-7518-2554 [Iridium] - Prox: 4038-5999-4824 Resources: (feel free to make suggestions) Official series portal Official Animal Crossing amiibo card list Nookipedia, the Animal Crossing wiki New Leaf Café guide (Thonky) New Leaf Crazy Redd guide (Thonky) New Leaf Stalk Market guide (GameFAQs) Happy Home Designer DLC list (NSider2) That website that plays Animal Crossing music appropriate to your local time (Tane) Discuss.
  4. http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/fire-emblem-shadow-dragon-wii-u The North American release is finally happening!
  5. http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/advance-wars-dual-strike-wii-u According to Nintendo, Advance Wars: Dual Strike is coming to the Nintendo eShop on Wii U tomorrow in North America! Also already available are the GBA Advance Wars games, in case you didn't already know.
  6. http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/mario-hoops-3-on-3-wii-u In addition to Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, the Nintendo DS title Mario Hoops 3-on-3 will also be launching on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U in North America this Thursday. If you ever wanted an excuse to destroy your Wii U GamePad's screen, this would be the game to get! I wonder if the unlockables that were locked behind multiplayer could be obtained in this release. They were just balls, but I'm still curious.
  7. Yesterday, Nintendo updated their list of best-selling DS, Wii, 3DS, and Wii U games. And a lot of other stuff, but I don't care about that, this isn't about that. Naturally, what fanbase could look at this information and go "how can I get people fighting?" but the beloved Pokémon fanbase. And so it goes: as of the third quarter of 2016, Pokémon X & Y have officially outsold Pokémon Black & White. In other words, Generation VI is one of only two generations to result in a sales increase -- the other being Generation IV. Particularly notable is the fact that X & Y did this on the Nintendo 3DS (which means it didn't have any help from the DS's gargantuan install base, like the two generations prior to it). It also did most of the legwork prior to Pokémon Go, believe it or not, so this increase is not strictly attributable to that alone (although it likely expedited the process.) On a somewhat sadder note, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have also officially outsold HeartGold and SoulSilver, which continues the curious pattern of each remake selling more than the one before it. Your guess is as good as mine for that. The full list of sales for recent-generation Pokémon games, for those who are too lazy to click the above links, is as follows (in millions): Pokémon Diamond & Pearl (17.64m) Pokémon X & Y (15.64m) Pokémon Black & White (15.62m) Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire (13.18m) Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver (12.72m) Pokémon Black 2 & White 2 (unlisted, but I think it was around 8m) Pokémon Platinum (unlisted, but I think it was around 7m) How do you feel about this? Are you happy that Pokémon is doing well financially, in spite of the onslaught brought on by Yo-kai Watch in the East? Are you upset that Generation V -- which has a very devoted fanbase -- is now the worst-selling generation in the series? Are you surprised that Generation VI performed as well as it did, considering Pokémon's usual downward trend and the smaller install base? How do you think Sun & Moon will perform? Will they ever bother with another 'third version' given Platinum and Unova 2's omission from the top ten charts? Discuss.
  8. http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/kirby-canvas-curse-wii-u http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/animal-crossing-wild-world-wii-u In North America, Nintendo DS titles Kirby Canvas Curse and Animal Crossing: Wild World will be arriving on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U starting this Thursday.
  9. Seriously. I've been playing it recently and it's really refreshing to play a very traditional Fire Emblem game after Awakening and Fates.
