  1. Beat: Pokémon Scarlet, Switch Filling out the dex now, I’m currently sitting at 350. Making good progress.
  2. Last game I grabbed was Stretchmo, which I somehow never got. I enjoyed the other games in the series, so it’ll be nice to wrap up with this one.
  3. Yeah, I remember them saying that after Azran Legacy. With that said, Azran Legacy was 2013/2014. It’s been nearly 10 years. Time passes, minds change… and it’s hard to believe it’s nearly been a decade since then.
  4. A new Professor Layton game? Nice.
  5. Games Beaten: 1. Hazelnut Hex, Switch 2. Lunistice, Switch 3. Jett Rocket II: The Wrath of Taikai, 3DS 4. Skies of Chaos, iOS 5. Mom Hid My Game, Switch 6. Kirby & The Forgotten Land, Switch 7. Pokémon Scarlet, Switch
  6. I’d add there must be at least one winner in this situation. A side effect of all this talk and attention on Bayonetta 3 was sales. During this whole controversy, the game was sold out on Amazon in the US, UK and other countries. It certainly brought eyes on the series.
  7. Yup, Kamiya really shot himself in the foot with that initial response. It’s a damn shame how this turned out because voice actors are often undervalued and underpaid.
  8. Hey, whoa, I’m pretty sure Bayonetta was in Anarchy Reigns!
  9. Games Beaten: 1. Kirby’s Dream Land III, SNES -A classic I had never played before. Thoroughly enjoyed. 2. Sonic Forces, PS4 -This is action the first 3D Sonic I’ve played/beaten. Haven’t done much with the Sonic series in general. I wasn’t wowed by it. 3. Burly Men at Sea, PS4 -Like the concept and visual style, but there really wasn’t much too this one. 4. One Piece Treasure Cruise, Mobile -Gacha game on mobile, story completed. Late to the party on this one- started a bit before it’s 8th anniversary. Friend and I are watching the anime together. It’s a long one. 5. Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening, Switch -Loved the original back in the day, and the core gameplay has aged nicely. Still not sure on the visual style, but I had fun revisiting it. 6. Amplitude, PS4 -Solid music game. 7. SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated, PS4 -Having never played the original, I don’t have the nostalgia for this one. It was a fine, if dated, platformer, that uses the license well. 8. Furmins, Vita -An OK puzzler. Not something I’m going to revisit. 9. The Rusty Sword: Vanguard Island, Switch -This is a 99 cent games on the Switch eShop. It’s about 15 or so minutes to beat, and it plays like a 2D Zelda. Feels like a demo/prologue for a bigger game, but what’s there is good. Not the best 99 cent game on the Switch (the Toree series says hi!) but a good way to spend a dollar. 10. Bound, PS4 -Looks pretty, but not much in terms of platforming gameplay. VR is implemented well. 11. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, PS4 -It’s a smash clone with Nick characters. Points for Billy West, but it’s not replacing Smash for me any time soon. Still had fun with it. 12. Make Love, Not War, Switch -I won this from a YouTuber and it’s a puzzle game that does exactly what it sets out to do: feature anime girls in various states of undress. It’s trash. 13. Knack 2, PS4 -Hey, remember Morbius? I haven’t seen it, but there were tons of memes about it. I have played Knack- and there were tons of memes about it, thanks to Dunkey. Though the first sold well as a PS4 launch title, I know more people who know the memes than played the game. Did it meme its way to a sequel? Either way, the sequel is better than the original in almost every way. The story is still hot garbage, but the platforming and combat is improved. It’s good, even. 14. Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax, Vita -It’s a fighting game featuring a bunch of light novel characters. It’s a simple fighter, though I think your enjoyment of it is directly related to how much you like the characters featured. There are certainly better anime fighters out there. 15. Harold's Walk, 3DS -This is a bizarre one, a 3D platformer for the 3DS made by one guy. Not exactly good looking, but visuals aside, I found myself enjoying my time with it. 16. Job Simulator, PS4 -A shallow but funny VR title, Job Simulator is an amusing waste of time. Nonsensical silliness. 17. Astro’s Playroom, PS5 -Got a PS5, this a preloaded platformer on all of them. It’s cute and charming. Not much on challenge, but very fun. 18. Fighter's History, Switch -We have Street Fighter II at home. Fighter's History is about as blatant as a rip-off gets, and that's about the reason to check it out. I think it's a forgettable fighter otherwise. 19. WarioWare: Snapped!, DSiWare -I like WarioWare. One of the only games I hadn't played in the series was WarioWare: Snapped, and with the 3DS eShop in its dying days, I decided to remedy that. Do I recommend it? No. When it works, it's amusing, but the camera recognition is a struggle and with just 20 microgames, there simply isn't enough content here. The photo slideshow showing pictures of your playthrough is admittedly funny, but this is more of a tech demo than a fully fleshed out game. Oh well, at least the nose picking game is here in all its glory! 20. Horseshoe Crab Rescue, 3DS A cute, short game that finds you flipping over horseshoe crabs stuck on their shells. Very simple- wander the beach and tap to flip them- but oddly soothing and relaxing. Well worth the $1 price tag for this 3DS eShop oddity. 21. Beeny, Switch A 2D retro platformer from the Toree developer. It’s good, simple stuff. You control a round bee who must hop and bounce to the top of vertical levels to collect honey for Kiwi. It ties into the upcoming Super Kiwi 64, which looks right up my alley. Very short, low stakes stuff with an nice little teaser at the end. 22. Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Switch Never played this one back in the day. Finally got around to it, holds up as a fun platformer with some good bosses. 23. Jazzpunk, PS4 This is a goofy one. A solid comedy/adventure. Not all of the jokes land, but enough of them do. It's silly and stupid. 24. Pokemon: Shining Pearl, Switch Revisiting Gen 4. Not a major fan of the art style, but hey, it’s Pokemon. You know what you’re getting here. 25. Super Kiwi 64, Switch A bite-sized retro platformer from the maker of the Toree games. Siactro is very good at this retro-style of platformer. It all plays well and has that N64-era feel. It's good stuff if you're into that sort of thing, just don't expect it to last that long.
  10. Nice to see the witch landing so close to Halloween. Looking forward to it. Bayonetta is just good stuff, action packed fun.
  11. I think part of that is because Nsider went across console generations: it hit the GBA, GCN, DS and Wii. It's going to feel like it lasted longer than it did, especially given the long tails of the DS and Wii.
  12. When it comes to what counts and what doesn't, we've accepted demos before, we've counted epilogues before (Future Connected in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definite Edition), we've counted different routes within the same game (Fire Emblem: Three Houses), and I have no issue counting a game within a game (within reason) or something like Bowser's Fury as its own thing. This is, in my opinion, about your backlog. If it's a game you're playing that you're looking to finish, I'd willing to count it. I tend to be lenient when it comes to counting out. As an aside regarding Bowser's Fury, I'm fine with it being recorded as its own individual beat or as a bundle with 3D World. Whatever makes your list easier to manage for you.
  13. I have older right-wing relatives who I’m Facebook friends with, and some of the nonsense they post is just unbelievable. For example, I see them share memes comparing facemasks to armbands worn at concentration camps, and call those who advocate for a mask mandate Nazis. I’ve seen Dr. Fauci, in particular, repeatedly called a Nazi. I’m already seeing Hitler Joe Biden memes, complete with the mustache, similar to what we saw with Clinton in 2016 and Obama before that. And, given the latest controversy, I’m seeing posts comparing the Dr. Seuss situation to Nazi book burnings. While it’s very easy to point to January 6 and say Nazis, we shouldn’t ignore the fact that Nazi remains a common insult by those on the right against the left. Maybe I’m completely in the wrong here, but I don’t consider wearing a mask, supporting the Biden/Harris administration or not wanting to read On Beyond Zebra as weirdchamp opinions.
  14. With the note that those older definitions remain valid definitions. While Nazi is overused as an insult, Nazis still exist, including those who actually participated in the Holocaust. Just last month, the US Department of Justice deported Friedrich Karl Berger, 95, to Germany, for his role as an armed guard at a concentration camp during World War II.
