    that's so interesting because while i can totally give it outstanding merit as a piece of artwork, i genuinely didn't find it cathartic to have it laid bare to me so plainly at all lol. i felt so stressed during like, the whole thing almost!

    maybe because it so easily dredged up really depressing feelings for me and how disconnected i STILL feel from society and the people around me even tho the pandemic is 'ending'...idk

    there's a few scenes that made me actually uncomfortable, mainly the scenes where he's raising his voice angrily, and the scene near the end where he's pounding at the door to get back inside.

    idk im just rambling now lmao it was a great special either way!! the artistic work that went into creating it alone over the course of covid is INSANE and incredible, his work has really come a long way

    Yeah, I can understand why it would have that effect too.

    I think for me it's like, instead of me getting something off my chest someone else to doing that for me? lol. Someone else verbalizing and visualizing(?) it makes it easier to process and think about certain feelings for me I guess.

    I've been in a small room in my parents house with just my computer and xbox with very little contact with friends for the last year, so being in my face like this is just making me think about it and actually process it, I dunno. lol

    for real i had to fuckin lie down after watching it, idk if i can even consider this comedy bc of how fuckin bleak i feel afterwards lmfao

    it was incredible for sure tho

    Honestly, I don't think you can call it comedy lol.

    It feels a little cathartic to a degree though, I don't think any other piece of art or media made in 2020 has felt as genuine or captured how 2020 really felt. Even the lighter moments like healing the world with comedy and white woman instagram poked at small frustrations that became bigger frustrations when everyone was online almost 100% of the time in 2020. Like, I think most people are actively trying to avoid touching on how absolute shit 2020 was and it was nice to have someone express it in a better way than I could.

    bro i try to recommend manga to my one friend and she just cannot do it lmao it KILLS MEEEE

    she has like, a Real Life tho so i get it but it does mean i don't rly have anyone to chat w about the great shit i read lol

    Yeah, it's rough.

    All of my friends have stopped reading manga/watching anime cause they don't have a lot of free time. I'm really appreciating this coworker getting into anime even if I am talking about old shit lol.

    almost all the shit i'm watching rn i'm only watching bc they're sequels of things i already loved/liked but i'm usually in the same boat

    also currently rewatching shit i've already seen w friends who have seen way less anime than me lol

    manga is just so much easier to manage i feel and no matter how good an adaptation is, the manga is always better anyway x_x

    Pretty much agree about adaptions, I was talking to my coworker about it last week. He's new to anime so I've had him watching a bunch of stuff, I've recommended him to read manga but he's trying not to get overwhelmed lol.

    i kinda ebb and flow w it but now that i'm caught up w everything its easier to keep on top of it  plus the like 6 shows i'm watching this season

    i fall out of watching anime a lot faster since i can't really do it at my own pace tho

    I have given up with anime lol.

    I'll occasionally watch something if I read the manga or it's a continuation of something. And sometimes I'll rewatch something I'm having a coworker watch.

    extremely valid

    i'm reading like 15 ongoing manga rn and its truly suffering for some of it matty;

    made in abyss will be done by the time my grandchildren are dead

    I took a break from reading manga months ago when I got current with them, but now that I'm reading again they all have a million chapters and I'm drowning.

    Plus I've started reading a few web comics so that doesn't help y;

    the manga is really good, for what it's worth flower; it really seems like the story is about to wrap up though, which makes the indefinite hiatus sting a bit more, haha. would still recommend!

    and fwiw, when you hide posts only staff can see it after that

    I'll probably get around to it one day, but it's taken lower priority now, lol.

    I love RF4 to death but the RNG required for those kinds of events nearly kills it for me. I’ve been plugging through it again on switch and it has a fix for that issue so it has been a much better experience.

    Big reason I never got married when I originally played RF4 lmao

    I should buy the Switch version
