TKrazyO reacted to Eliwood8 in Moving Out 2 Review
The first Moving Out was a wacky party game that turned the mundane task of moving furniture into a wild multiplayer romp, so how do you build on that formula? Make things even wackier, of course! Moving Out 2 slightly refines the gameplay but is mostly more content for couch co-op hijinks, which is just fine if you've got a few friends over for some laughs.   You once again play as a Furniture Arrangement and Removal Technician, and that acronym is more or less the level of humor at play here. Business is booming, but after a portal mishap your client base will expand to alternate realms, including a high fantasy world, a futuristic city in the clouds, and a land of candy. Narrative design is absolutely not the focus of Moving Out 2, but the game's love of puns and dad jokes is still endearing. It's probably not the kind of humor or writing that will stick with you after playing, but starting and ending each level with a handful of wordplay jokes is still fun.     The core gameplay mechanics remain the same in Moving Out 2: this is a wacky physics-based action/puzzle game. You need to grab all of the required furniture and toss it (oftentimes literally) into the moving van, and you'll need to do it fast to earn stars (stars are required for unlocking new regions, so playing smart is a must). The physics in this game feel a bit less chaotic though, which is nice. You'll still end up crashing into just about everything around you, but squeezing through doorways is way less of a hassle and you have better—though still not perfect—control over how you and the furniture move.   Which is good, because Moving Out 2 ups the ante with even crazier hazards and mechanics. For one thing, there are now some levels that require you to move the furniture into a building, i.e. taking it out of the van and placing each item in its appropriate room. The less outrageous physics makes this much more manageable, though it can still be challenging to get an item into the right spot quickly. There are also just wackier hazards in your way in this game though, from portals and moving platforms to robots you can control to smash through obstacles in your way. Overall, Moving Out 2 feels like a smart, solid sequel: it builds upon the original concept and slightly refines it. The formula still feels a bit repetitive if you try to blast through multiple levels at once, but this is meant as a casual, couch co-op party game, so perhaps the best way to play is with some friends in a weekly gaming session.     In addition to couch co-op, Moving Out 2 adds a multiplayer mode. However, you're limited to playing with friends. That's probably for the best since there are so much opportunity for griefing in this game, and you'll need fellow movers you can trust to get the job done. The full game is also playable solo, but the goofy spirit of the Moving Out titles really lends itself to a chaotic multiplayer session.   Like the first game, each level also has a handful of secret bonus objectives that are only revealed after you've completed the level once. And like the first game this seems like a needlessly annoying way of padding out the game's length a bit to encourage you to replay levels (bonus objectives also award stars, so you'll want to tackle at least a few in order to unlock every region in the game). Some objectives are already mutually exclusive anyway—such as one for breaking every window and one for breaking no windows—so it's just pointless padding to keep them secret until the end of the level.     The visual design hasn't changed in Moving Out 2. It's still bright, colorful, and cartoony. The highlight of the graphics is once again the crazy cast of characters you can play as, from humans to animals to sentient sunny side up eggs. You can't see much of the characters' details while playing, but it's still fun to gradually unlock new character options. The soundtrack isn't half bad either, though it ends up being a little forgettable.   Moving Out 2 is another wacky, frantic, and engaging co-op experience. The cartoonish physics and chaotic hazards hit just the right note to turn a simple task into a Herculean one while still being goofy and charming. If you enjoyed the first you'll surely enjoy the new challenges that await in this sequel.   Rating: 7 out of 10 Boxes

Yes, I recall you mentioning this before.

So why don't Krazy host a room and you AB. At least that way even without 10 ppl, which there's enough for, I don't we'd get lucky for that on Friday. So the swapping of ppl in 2 rooms can only occur with 10 ppl and not less like 5 ppl? Since each room can hold 4 ppl. If we can swap ppl with 5 ppl between 2 rooms at least there would be 3 ppl in room and 2 in another.

Regardless, let's see who shows up and what will be played.

@TKrazyO: This thread creation anniversary is the same day of this week party game session. I wonder what else should we do to honor this thread creation, lol.

A game any of us haven't played together multi-player wise. If there isn't any viable to play we haven't played cause of how many players the game can play or how many show up. I'm up for any game we've played before but with new players we haven't played with.

to add to the above, different mics are always going to have different volume levels, but OBS has a really easy to way to balance audio built into the program. above (or below i can't remember right this second) each audio's volume setting is a bar that goes from green to yellow to red. you want your voice when you're speaking regularly to reach the yellow, and any game audio to stay in the green.
exactly where in the green depends on the specific audio, but you don't want it bordering the yellow section.
if it hits the red, that means your audio is clipping (it distorts and loses quality when the input is too loud for the equipment)
so you don't ever want to go into the red side of the bar.
there's a thing you can use called audio compression that adjusts your volume so it never clips or get too quiet, but dw about that for now.
just keep an eye on the bars and don't yell right next to the mic or anything like that

    OK!

What is Twitch Studio even for if you're using OBS? Read on one comment somewhere that it's supposed to be easy to use but it's barebones compared to what you can do in OBS. Just asking for this one. Other than that I have no clue about Twitch Studio.

I was going to comment earlier during my lunch but I wanted to get home and compare my settings and see the details in Sound Capture.

    Elgato Sound Capture:
If you're streaming with a mic already set up, you do not have to set your mic in Sound Capture. Leave that set to "None" and have friend's voices set to what your output is for hearing audio. (This is for the Team Chat tab) Discord
The settings you have are correct. Audio
Are you listening to EVERYTHING through your desktop speakers? If so, you need to swap to headphones pronto and turn off the speakers so your mic doesn't pick up interference from them. OBS Audio
Your Elgato audio is too low. In comparison since I use percentage instead of decibels yours is around 3%(`-30dB range) while I usually hover around 7% (-23.1dB). Same with the Discord aka the Elgato Sound Capture audio being too low. Mine is at 33% (-9.6 dB) while yours is around 15%. Your mic setting is definitely lower than mine. (12% vs 50%) I don't know if you have any audio filters on in OBS for your mic. A few could help on stream to eliminate background noise and prevent your voice or any noises from peaking your mic (would make loud noises quieter as to not hurt your viewers ears).

    That's all I've got.

  20. Confused
TKrazyO reacted to Link, the Hero of Dreams in Link, The HeroOfDream's Gaming Twitch/and YouTube stuff/ DryDryOasis
Okay... so here's my audio situation a little more in-depth:

I have about four things of tracking audio, and about four devices or so.

I'm using OBS, Discord (from time to time), Twitch Studios, and Elgato Sound Capture.

On my OBS, I have Video Capture Device (Elgato I'm guessing/-31.4 dB), Line (Elgato Sound Capture/-16.3 dB), My Webcam Thing (Logitec, I'm guessing/currently off), And my 2-USB Audio Codec (My regular mic/ -18.1 dB).
On my Discord, I'm using my Audio Codec for input, an my Elgato Sound Capture for output.
On my Twitch Studios, I have my Audio Codec as my primary microphone, with Discord and Elgato Sound Capture as my individual audio sources.
On my Elgato Sound Capture, my chat settings (Microphone is Audio Codec, High Definition Audio Device for speakers), for PC gameplay (HD Audio Device for audio and audio output), and for advanced settings (I checked yes for both playbacks, my audio input is my Audio Codec, and currently my speakers are off of where I want to hear the audio.)

So, my Audio Codec is working well when it comes to OBS, Discord, and Twitch Studios. Perhaps Elgato Sound Capture as well.

But here's the thing: because my microphone (Audio Codec) is a little close to my desktop speakers, I think it picks up that noise on the background, even though I don't want it to. Also, I think because of that, because my Audio Codec is connected to my Elgato Sound Capture, that's why the background Discord chat can probably be heard twice on my OBS and perhaps Twitch Studios. Maybe that's why the game audio can barely be heard?

So maybe I'll have my gaming headset connected to my speakers, even if that looks strange online. Although I'm confused how streamers that do have microphones don't have the same issue as me. And, they don't use gaming headsets.

I'm not a technical wizard, so maybe someone can please help me what my audio problem is.

Alright, I am okay with most of this... but computer games are a little bit tricky for me. I use the "Main Screen Share stuff" on Twitch Studios. Which means, there might be a audio delay there regardless.

I've found another way to check audio besides using my phone. The stream was lagging on my phone when I tried that. I'll have to use my laptop during my recording segments, and go from there.

Thanks so much for the advice.

This is to continue the discussion from the Smash Saturday thread, not to overfill it with something not related.

With the tracks since you aren't making separate recordings which it would benefit from, you can uncheck the other tracks. Just double check that those sources are still playing audio. For the audio you don't want to hear twice on your end (Discord), you should keep that set to Monitor Off.

A tip since I noticed your game audio is slightly out of sync in the highlights. When you click your Elgato source in OBS there should be a button that appears below the screen that says "Deactivate" of some sort. Whenever you are about to stream, deactivate the Elgato for about 10 seconds then activate it again. I have had that audio sync problem in the past and it helps. You'll have to do that every time.

Yeah, whenever you go live pull up your stream and do audio checks. You won't always have a viewer that notifies you of any issues so it'll fall on you. It's harder for multiplayer sessions if it's a nonstop session.
  23. Thanks

The first Smashdown challenge of the year has concluded.

    Here are the results:

In first place with 14 wins is @TKrazyO
In 2nd place with 4 wins is DLurkster
    In 3rd place with 3 is @purple_beard
And last but not least with 1 point is @Link, the Hero of Dreams

Congrats to Krazy for this month Smashdown challenger winner. Also thank you for the stream, Krazy.

The next Smashdown is February 3rd. Eli already mentioned he cannot make it for that night, I will ask a week before that date if anyone is available to participate in the Smashdown for that night.

Also, Krazy mentioned in this Smashdown, a novel idea for the next Smashdown. He can probably explain it better but I will attempt; after the first round random character is complete, instead of calling out any character that's left in the roster. That selection is gonna be narrowed down to the adjacent or diagonal of you last character pick. So it can be diagonal left up, right up or diagonal left down, right down. I believe. The obvious exception is if the last character you use is at the top or bottom, that adjacent character is either just top left, right or bottom left, right.

Again, Krazy let me know if what I said is what we suppose to do for the next Smashdown.

Congrats again to Krazy for this month Smashdown challenger winner.

    Till next time guys, GG.
