  1. Someone has a method here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonBDSP/comments/sb4eji/changing_the_swarm/
  2. All of this actually happened yesterday to schedule change, and anyway, Davy and I are officially engaged~ Ring also getting resized because measuring ring size hard.
  3. blargh. Waking up at 5am the week after spring our clocks forward is hard. So sleepy.
  4. The ring arrived today. I think I more or less planned how our day off together (Sunday) will go. Take train into the city and get seafood at a nice place by the waterfront, and ask him there or the nearby park. I do not have any idea how exactly I'll hide the ring until I ask. I have cargo pants which can maybe mask a big bulging square, but idk. I do not feel comfortable taking it out of the box lest I lose the ring.
  5. We passed the bill in the senate, but failed the house. No DLS bill has passed the house.
  6. Another complication if we did a big wedding is that nearly every guest would be from my side of the family; David basically doesn't have an extended family. Keeping it small helps sidestep this issue. Speaking of wedding attire, it's dumb, but I'd like to find a suit that's looks like the rune factory wedding outfit, but not so much that it looks like cosplay. Which is to say, finding a white suit with gold trim and such. But that's a future me problem.
  7. I forget how, but last summer we actually had a long conversation for how we'd go about marrying. and mostly decided on a small civil ceremony at SF City Hall because of how expensive weddings can be. We didn't have a lot of money last summer (my old job went to complete shit), so even that wasn't possible at the time, but I feel we'd still move forward with our plan of doing a civil ceremony at SF City Hall (with just our parents as guests) and then having a nice meal in the city (with parents, siblings, and their SOs and kids). Our money situation is much much better, but far from perfect, and I can't imagine spending over 1k (let alone over 10k) for a wedding. We can always do a vow ceremony in the far future if we feel like we're missing out. Even for our wedding bands, I'd probably look at simple white gold/platinum/titanium rings on Etsy.
  8. Keep in mind I haven't proposed for him yet. It's a surprise. I mean, probably not a big surprise, I did need to measure his ring size yesterday and I can't exactly do that subtly.
  9. So, fellas. Uhhh. I might have ordered an engagement ring for Davy. It's silly, but I was trying to find something that looked not unlike Sigurd's emblem ring in Engage ( pic for reference). I found this, a bit expensive but not unreasonably so, with the biggest caveats being: aquamarine which as far as I can tell is the lower bound of "acceptable for an lifelong ring but expect to one day replace it" gem. Anyway, this is a very weird feeling and I'm honestly a bit anxious for the ring to arrive. Especially since this is the most money I've spent on something that wasn't, like, rent or some other necessity.
  10. I don't know if they're easier in S/V since it'd be DLC exclusive, but in SwSh, I used the cram-o-matic. Reading up, it seems like S/V dlc recommends a similar item printer. Milcery was really intended to be evolved through raid events that fknt exist anymore, so getting all forms suck.
  11. Armor Isle: Probably dipping in and out during the storyline. Don't feel rushed to get kubfoo, but IoA is really just a hub of quality of life mechanics. E.g. if you want to gigantamax, you'd want to use the mushrooms here. Tundra is 100% postgame area.
  12. I think my game goals for this year is the wrap up Like a Dragon/RGG games series and make good headway with Atelier. I gotta take advantage of the break year to not make sure I at least beat Atelier games faster than they release.
  13. Technically have today off because district holiday (Lunar New Years observed), but have so much work to do, including: Getting my work laptop setup now that I finally got it. Hopefully I remember how to use a Mac because it's been 3000 years. Getting grades online. District hauled ass to get my email and some kiddos legit thought this class wasn't graded because I wasn't their first semester teacher. (longterm sub=no grades according to their logoic) Grading some loose assignments so they have better overall idea of their grade going into Monday. Additionally, I'm in the process of learning how to drive (a carry-over of my job search that I might as well see through), so today is when I practice driving more with my parents. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But tomorrow and the day after I will releax! Currently doing odds and ends in Judgment (rare RGG game where I never got around to side content) to let Yakuza 7 simmer. Not sure what to start next, but thinking Another Code R or Dangranponpa 3
  14. I just finished Yakuza 7: LAD last night. Now what do I do with my life
  15. Just officially sent my letter of resignation into my current job because I start fulltime on Monday at my new job. On one hand, I feel bad I gave them basically one business day to respond (since saturday is a business day), on the other hand, they have no problem changing my schedule last minute so they'll manage.
  16. One week and no response. Sent HR contact an email asking for an update, and while it hasn't been a business day, getting the distinct feeling I am being ghosted. Back to the grinder I guess. *Le sigh*
  17. Had the third interview last Friday. I think it went well? The presentation (which was on my lab research+half the two hour commitment) did well. The Q&A I feel could have gone better; mostly wish I had a better answer for fourier optics questions (which I did pick up on in the second interview what they're particularly interested in). We did do a thirty minute tour of the facility afterwards and my would-be-boss did say someone would follow-up this week, but still, a lot of anxiety waiting to see if I got the job or not. Trying to take my mind off things for the time being. Feels like the best use of my time.
  18. X-ray manufacturer got back to me! I'm onto the third interview. Now to prepare an hour long presentation on optics stuff I haven't seen in a few years, but I'll take that over jobscrolling anyday~
  19. My second interview with an xray manufacturing company went well today. Sounds like my would-be boss has similar background to mine, so that's reassuring. That said, it could take a few weeks to followup for third interview. So, that bit is going to make me nervous I think I'll hold off on job searching and focus on getting my driver's license for now, which at least opens up opportunities like substitute teaching.
  20. Job searching has mostly been hell. le sigh. Like, jfc, what is this burning dumpster fire of a job market? Strangely, a company that didn't post an applicable job but simply said "we're always interested in x-ray physicists," has been the most promising company so far. My field was adjacent enough (photonics/visible optics), so I said, why not, I'll send a resume, and somehow getting my first non-screening interview for their optical engineer I position. The place is nearby and the work looks fun, so I'm really really hoping this works out. Weekend is going to be a mixture of brushing up on optics+learning about some x-ray specific features+learning about the company.
  21. I'm job hunting as well, but can't leave my current job yet. Both locations I'm working at lost their center directors (both ultimately tied up to visa situations afaik), which means corporate took over management for the time being, and yeesh are their policies terrible. One location is closing down soon, we're cancelling folks' appointments day of on an almost daily basis because corporate doesn't think there's enough appointments to justify staff (we'd still turn a profit lmfao)--which, relatedly, means my hours went to shit--and just all sorts of "yeah, fuck this shit, I'm out." I really hope I can score a job at Lawrence Livermore that I applied to. Entry level, segues nicely in my photonics/optics specialization, and actually lets me continue to develop a career in photonics after a lot of that went to shit when my thesis advisor disappeared for 2+ years. But LLNL hiring is notoriously slow af, so even if I can score it longterm, I'll probably need at temp job anyway. And, honestly, I'll be down for anything fulltime as long as I'm not a salesperson; I need the consistency more than anything else.
  22. The nature of dubbing foreign media is that the availability of voice actors abroad just can't be taken into consideration when creating entertainment. It's fine to feel frustrated that Ferdie's recasting is a remainder that Billy Kametz is no longer with us, but I don't think there's an ethical quandry here. VA dub actors are all aware that the show (or the game in this case) must go on. And ferdie is here because he basically starts the quest that gives you the tea set. Ferdie is the liaison for this banner, like Rinkah is to flame tribe or Nailah is to Hatari banner.
  23. --> logs into twitter yesterday for the first time in months to keep up with big news day --> website falls apart the next morning it all comes tumbling down tumbling down tumbling down I really should just start using tumblr actively again. (says this every three weeks; never does)
  24. Definitely been one of those weeks. In-laws done visiting and I finally get to rest but just too fatigued to continue Judgment which I want to beat this weekend. So just netting around, will probably make some tea soon too.
