When I knew the Deirdre/Julia banner was coming up (i.e. the banner that just released), I actually made a spreadsheet of 100 trials to give me an idea if I should aim for one or both. I actually use the other summon simulator (this one: https://feh-stuff.github.io/summon-simulator/) since gamepress doesn't allow to create custom banners. Using the snipe function, you can actually generate data pretty quickly. This summon simulator has some issues. Part of is is programming; Ethlyn is the normal pool for some reason, for example. But that's probably not a huge deal. Gamepress also releases a 'should you summon' article that contains useful data. The most useful data point is probably the 90th percentile; roughly speaking, if you toss that many orbs that banner, there's a 90% chance you'll receive that unit. In either case, 355 orbs were spent today to get Deirdre and Julia. I am literally only one Judgral unit shy--Ayra--of having them all. Surtr pitybroke me and the last time I had him I killed him for Steady Stance 4 so his summon quote was extra hilarious. I turned him into a book because I honestly just hate Surtr. Once I get steady stance 1 fodder, I'll think who wants Steady Stance 4. Thinking either Arden or Quan. Arden might prefer Steady Breath for that special acceleration but also the EP-guard really suits his playstyle; Quan has sturdy stance (+4 atk/def EP skill), so steady stance 4 might be nice for him too.

who could it be? I feel like I should recognize the person on the right. They're probably a girl looking at their bosom but they're also seem to have short hair and I feel like not a lot of FEH women meet that description. On the left? No clue.

Someone suggested the next banner might be hot springs themed based on today's tap battle accessory and I can't help but feel this is right. Can't wait to see what manservice is our TT reward.

The Trials of Cold Steel thicken: I'm not sure what role these people will play, but I'm glad NISA did the smart thing and recruited the Trails of translators XSEED let go. This is an interesting, good, but ultimately expected development.

ASAP I guess. Flynn wasn't a playable character in the original game because the plot usually demanded he be elsewhere; that doesn't change a whole lot here. There are very few times he joins before staying permanently in the final arc iirc. If he does join, expect him to not stick around for long.

Given Ys VIII's success there may very well be a Switch version in the future. They learned from Ys 8 not to overpromise; the PC version of Ys 8 was awful. If I were to guess, Falcom might take point on that since porting their own library to Switch is a very lucrative move without much effort. I would not count on PC at all. That might be wishful thinking on my part. Because NISA isn't the best at localizing. They literally needed to redo Ys 8's localization post launch because it was that bad. Additionally, I don't think most people understand Hatsuu has been laid off from xseed and with that any chance if xseed to port Trails. Given that NISA indicated they recruited outside help and Hatsuu is freelancing I'm hoping NISA recruited Hatsuu. I'll say this much. When Hatsuu left xseed I gave up hope on cold steel 3 coming stateside. Even if NISA has issues, I'd still take their port over nothing. But, people are gonna people so...

They had to redo the tweet since the first hashtag was trials of cold steel. Yes, trials, not trails.

The Aselia games (phantasia, Symphonia, Symphonia 2) aren't very good basis tbh. Symphonia seems fine when you're a kid, but as an adult it comes across as so cliche it leaves a lot to be desired. I felt Vesperia and Xillia avoid this for the most part; I cannot understate how good Vesperia's cast is (except maybe Karol, but even he's likable by the end). Abyss is harder to pin down since Jade is awesome but Luke is polarizing at best. Vesperia still has it's weak points; the minor villains, except Zagi, aren't interesting but as a whole it feels so much better written than Symphonia. Phantasia is the first game and tends to play the story straight until turning around and making Dhaos sympathetic. It's a plot that's hard to get worked up about since I felt it mostly did its job. Symphonia 2 isn't a main game and the story reflects that. It exists to have Symphonia's branding to sell a tales of Pokemon game.

Vesperia's villains are a hard question to answer. Arc 1 as a whole is pretty disconnected from the rest of the game. There's some villain here, but once arc 1 is done he's irrelevant. Arc 1 exists to introduce you to the world of Vesperia. Arc 2 has the biggest ensemble of villains and you see a bigger scope of the plot; the most the obnoxious nobles exit the stage during this arc. Yeagar exists, and is honestly a pretty cool bad guy. Arc 3 is the hardest to explain without going to deep into spoilers other than to say this is where a lot of Tales-esque deconstruction happens and the early game isn't a good indicator who's the bad guy in this arc.

Rumor is that boss was made difficult for the demo and the developers forgot to tone him down for the final game. Whoopsie. Most other bosses are tame iirc and the remaining bullshit bosses feel plot important at least. And one of them is made so much better in the new version because they give you a freaking healer. Two, actually, but iirc Patty's healing is a little unreliable.

Fall is best season. Not too hot. Not too cold. And no pollen.

I feel WoM or maybe chill skill is better. Exception might be LAzura, but only because her weapon distribtes the highest buff over all dance, even when her dance provides said buff. Even then, she'd probably prefer using her seal slot. The main issue with dance skills is there are usually better ways to get the buff without using a B slot. E.g. tactics for mixed teams, double drives, etc. This goes double for dancers like PAzura or Flylivia who give +3 to all stats anyway.

After winter comes spring. And with spring comes pollen. And fuck pollen.

I wouldn't snipe for Julia on this banner unless you really want a delete dragon character. Being a 4 person banner with a shared color focus isn't great.
