  1. If Sunset Wilds doesn't have the evening/night transition and/or Daisy Cruiser lacks the moving tables, Nintendo should get more flak than they did when Coconut Mall lacked car movement. Beyond that, I don't have much else to say. Wave 5 looks fantastic and would have loved to play it into the weekend tomorrow. Moonview Highway is the biggest surprise of the wave selection for me as I felt Nintendo would view the track as redundant given all the city Tour tracks. I had the same concerns for a potential Mushroom Bridge and Mushroom City addition, Next Wednesday is going to be a great time.
  2. It was a fun time last night. I think I had a 3 match win streak all while under 10 total KOs. We definitely should have fake Smash balls every session. That Mario, Hi, got screwed on that match that ended off stage. Went with white armor Samus and Dark Samus to show some love to Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and went with Meta Knight and the Boxing Ring for LA Knight and MitB. For what I was doing with Metroid, the black holes and shooting stars worked out perfectly.
  3. I really hate this game sometimes. Congrats @Kezay on the crown, but you shouldn't have had to share it.
  4. I think it's time for Metroid Prime 4 to have its first trailer, and for it to be at the end of this Direct. If it's not that, it has got to be a brand new Mario game. Nintendo doesn't have a big hitter lined up beyond Pikmin 4 I think, so this should be a fantastic Direct. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 5 should get a reveal and date, but I've honestly not been thinking about that. I've been pretty heavy in Metroid this year between 100,000 H/G killed in Hunters, 100% solo Federation Force, 100% Prime Remastered (still have the extras to unlock), 100% Other M and now I'm playing and loving Prime 2 on the GameCube of all things. I want to see whatever is next for the series on the Switch.
  5. I've been wondering about this for a little while. What are the favorite courses and kart combinations here?
  6. Good battles earlier! I'm glad I got a Switch OLED for my birthday, because my launch Switch overheated and had to use the OLED to continue playing. Hopefully, my save data for the game is good. I'm not sure how back the cloud saving goes yet.
  7. I'm looking forward to playing some Super Mario Advance and also have been wanting to start a run through Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Tried to play the original Super Mario Bros. 2 on the service a couple weeks ago, and it just seemed too dated visually for me. My first exposure was from the Advance series.
  8. I did some cleaning around the vents, which gave me a 2 hour session later that evening, but my plan to replace the cooling fan failed when one of the screws was shredded. My birthday is coming up and my family is planning on getting me an OLED Switch, so I'll replace my launch model as my main with that. 1-2 hour sessions aren't that bad generally, but Tears of the Kingdom, like a Xenoblade game, is a game I would like to run longer sessions with.
  9. @TKrazyO You're psychic! Crazy that you made a Pink Gold Peach joke hours before the races.
  10. I've never had this happen. I played for maybe 45 minutes when my Nintendo Switch put itself into sleep mode as the unit got too hot. It has been feeling hot whenever I play Metroid Prime Remastered too, but has yet to take me out of that game. I'll probably buy compressed air and shoot into the vent on top of the Switch. If that doesn't help, I might have to figure out how to open the system up and clean it that way if there's build up inside. I'm not all that interested in buying a replacement Switch at the moment, so hopefully all is good after a little extra care.
  11. My store ended up getting CEs for Tears of the Kingdom and had some left to pre-order, so I secured a CE a day before the game's release. I'm going to buy some food before heading home tomorrow and pretty much try to be all in this weekend with the game.
  12. Sorry I didn't see your post sooner. I'm going to be heading out of town tomorrow, so I won't be participating in the Splatfest.
  13. I hope no one here minds, but I'm going to be away from the Discord voice calls for a while...Don't know how long, but I'm avoiding details on Tears of the Kingdom and Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
  14. I cannot believe there was such a difference between what you and I experienced on Singapore, @TKrazyO. That Green Shell that barely missed you, hit you on my end and I'm pretty sure you were in front of me from there to the line after you flipped over me carrying your momentum. When I saw you get the draft boost, neighbors could've heard me if they were outside. That session was getting under my skin before that, but that's when I think being annoyed became more anger with the game. Grumble Volcano finished the night for me. DK Summit would've cooled me off though, missed that one. One race too late.
  15. I'm going to watch the stream back to see what happened during that final stretch of Singapore Speedway...I ended up rage quitting on Grumble Volcano afterwards once I got hit off the track, because I had already reached my limit. I'm guessing during the Singapore race that I didn't hit the other racer with a green shell on their screen and wasn't behind them to get the drafting dash. I'm very confused by what happened there, but I'm glad in the moment I wasn't in the Discord tonight. I don't think I could have held in my reaction.
  16. I'm going to be out on races this week and will instead be behind the wheel myself on a road trip.
  17. I'll be on shortly after 10. It'll take me a few minutes to get the Hall of Fame up through Peacock and getting the game itself started up.
  18. Pretty much from 8pm or 10pm Friday through Sunday night I'm going to be paying attention to WWE, but I'm willing to multitask during the Hall of Fame and play Friday evening. I'm going to be Team Aliens.
  19. I'm looking forward to this one. Hopefully, the atmosphere of Waluigi Stadium is intact, and I want to see if racing on Mario Circuit makes me forget about Airship Fortress's exclusion a bit more.
  20. Bought a game I said I didn't want immediately after skimming through the contents of this Direct, but I am looking forward to diving in again again. I said as I saw it in the Direct that it better be $40 and no more. There's going to be movement in my Top 5 now. I'm also very happy that I've fully bought the Booster Course Pass and upgraded to the NSO+Expansion Pass before the end of 2022. Super Mario Land 2 is my favorite GB game, and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is my favorite GBA game. Both out today. Pretty soon too, Metroid 1-5 will be all playable on the Switch. I'm completely locked in on Pikmin 4 and Tears of the Kingdom. I need no more information.
  21. 1. Metroid Prime 4 will have its first gameplay trailer at the next general Nintendo Direct following the release of ToTK, which should be around E3 if Nintendo shows up this summer. 2. If Metroid Prime 4 doesn't release in 2023, a new 2D Mario game will release this calendar year. It will not be Super Mario Maker 3. 3. Pikmin 4 is coming out in August. 4. If Pikmin 4 is planned to be the big holiday game for 2023, the Switch's successor will be revealed this year and will release early in 2024. 5. Wave 4 for the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe BCP will include cosmetics that are in Tour, and at this time both games will have a new cosmetic for Mario and co. as movie stars to hype up the Super Mario movie. Los Angeles Laps is a Wave 4 track. 6. Tears of the Kingdom will have a Metacritic score at least 5 points lower than Breath of the Wild, so 92 or under. It will have an issue that will need to be patched out in its first week. 7. ARMS finally gets its sequel released in July after being revealed in the first general Nintendo Direct of this year. 8. Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp gets released in April, and basically no one plays it. Its reappearance is met with backlash towards Nintendo. 9. There is no Metroid Prime remake, remaster or whatever the rumors want to call it. 10. Super Mario Odyssey will receive DLC this year featuring new kingdoms inspired from locations in the Super Mario movie. Everyone and their extended family says it's about damn time the game gets DLC.
  22. I took advantage of the Critically Acclaimed Sale on the eShop the other day and picked up Stardew Valley, Hollow Knight and Ori and the Will of the Wisps. I'm hoping to have a lot of fun with those games once I get around to them. I'll also be downloading Sports Story once it hits the eShop.
  23. Yesterday, I made it halfway to 100,000 Hunters and Guardians Defeated on a single file. Since my last post, I now know that the file time does roll over and is limited to 7 characters. When it showed the time without the "m" for minutes, I was mind blown as I wasn't expecting the character to drop. The roll over made me more willing to go for 100,000, because for something like that I want to know the time I put in. Once I hit 100,000, which is still several months away at the minimum, that's it. I'm not going for 1,000,000. If it rolls to 100,000, I'm assuming all stats on the completion screen will keep going up and adjust according to the limits of 7 characters, i.e. 1,000,000 hours total game time would just show the number.
  24. I wasn't sure if Dread was going to be up here or not, since I thought I had possibly played more Smash. The other two definitely are my most played on the Switch this year...There's a game on another system that absolutely blows these play times out of the water though. I also got Splatoon 3, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Pokemon Violet and Bayonetta 3 at launch, but have yet to play them aside from a little bit of Splatoon 3. I was really hopeful for Nintendo Switch Sports, and it's not quite there. I bought Go Vacation this year too which is a much better game. May have ordered it after the mild disappointment with Switch Sports. I haven't played Switch Sports since...the first couple of weeks I think. ARMS is still my favorite Nintendo game on the Nintendo Switch in spite of not playing the game much this year. I'm glad to see it centered in the graphic. I might've been playing some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe this year.... The Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe feels like a new game on its own, especially after the recent Wave 3 and the Custom Items updates. I've enjoyed all of the waves quite a bit, and definitely would say overall I like BCP more than the base game's selection. No other Switch game this year quite hit the highs provided by racing for 1st on Shroom Ridge and being an ass as Bowser Jr. My runner up would be Pokemon Scarlet. In spite of its technical issues, which are very obvious, Pokemon's fantastic gaming loop may be the best it has ever been in the new games. It's the best Pokemon experience in my opinion since Generation V (or early Pokemon Go mania).
  25. I feel like I might have dipped out of the call too soon tonight. We got through half of the new tracks I think, and what luck that we didn't get 3DS Rainbow Road at all. Is anyone against a room for the Thursday before Christmas to guarantee a race on Merry Mountain as well as potentially do some custom item shenanigans?
