  1. Oh really, you can catch at all even though you can’t keep? Weird choice of programming... You’re probably on to something with the bug. Maybe worth looking into online to see if anyone else is facing a similar situation.
  2. I agree a bit about the end, but actually I felt emotionally invested enough in one of the characters that what happened to them touched me a bit. So I’m not complaining that much. IMO TOK is a great game. Not without flaws but few games are. It was a great tine overall. Would be nice if they focused more on plot next time, but I know how they feel about that so I’m not holding my breath or anything... just would be nice.
  3. The only other question I would have then is are you doing endless raids? Apparently you can’t catch legends or keep anything during that.
  4. I completed all the Legendary and secret quests outside of Dynamax Adventures and completed my Dex! This expansion was smaller than I hoped, but overall I think they packed a lot in and I’m happy with the two expansions.
  5. I wasn’t able to complete the Drifloon tasks but I did get some shinies. Also manage to evolve a Galarian ponyta and got Sirfetched.
  6. I don’t think they “lied” so much as just told the story in a specific way. The findings are not as dramatic as some people want it to be IMO, but then this is such a hot topic for some people...
  7. Agreed, much smaller than I hoped. But I am having fun so far.
  8. My understanding is that the quality of these animations is super poor. It matches the story that direction changed and they adjusted the games accordingly. So it looks clear that in order to meet the strict release window, they cut a lot of Pokémon. But we knew all this already didn’t we? This doesn’t seem like breaking news to me.
  9. Not sure what you need the additional photo ID for so this is just a shot in the dark... But you said you were living in Manitoba, right? Do you already have a Manitoba Identification Card? From what I understand you just need to be a resident (so unlike enhanced driver’s license you don’t need to be a Canadian Citizen), and it acts as photo ID, at least.
  10. Isn’t that classic drift? I sent my joycons in and they fixed it for free because of those issues. Mind you I don’t know if they’re still fixing drift for free... but it’s definitely an annoying defect.
  11. I think it’s a very logical addition and an interesting challenge for Sakurai’s team to pull off.
  12. What a champ Sakurai is. Adding Minecraft elements in is certainly a difficult thing for them to have to do. But this is the kind of interesting fighters I can get behind, even if I wanted something else, personally.
  13. I just hope we at least get the Geno costume back this time.
  14. I remember this game! Such an interesting game mechanic...
  15. I know there was that mosque attack a few years ago, but other than that does New Zealand have even remotely the same level of civil baggage that the US does, @Kodiack? I’m just saying it probably would not be a surprise that most politicians in other developed countries can behave better, as they look at the state of the US political climate and gape with incredulity. I know everywhere has problems to some degree (in Canada for instance our indigenous track record is awful), but that the US is facing such a crisis of this magnitude is really quite insane. It worries me how many people who I see are usually well-meaning could support Trump and the modern GOP at all. Agree or disagree on certain policies but nobody should be courting terrorists, caging people, performing forced hysterectomies, supporting a militarized police state, etc. I should hope New Zealand could do a debate better, I mean. I am hoping that even the right there is for the most part amazed at what is happening in the States.
  16. Assuming you’re talking about Xenoblade here, that really salvaged the concept for me for those games, actually. That they were no longer going full on Gnostic made the overall plot more compelling to me, and made Alvis and his random preachiness at the end more bearable. Knowing what was behind all that just made it better, IMO. On the other hand, you have FFX which was just like “let’s just crap all over the concept of religion and the idea of God just because we’re clever or something”. It’s just not interesting to me. Again, goes back to the preachiness element. YsXIII though was to me SO much more interesting than either. In that game you’re literally killing God (or a facet of creation, anyway), but it’s not because God is “actually evil and stuff”, it’s just a conflict of will. And there are actual consequences to it, too, a very novel idea with these games that dabble with this trope. So yeah, my problem isn’t so much the trope itself (some of my favourite games, like Bravely Second, have it and don’t even handle it that well, IMO). It’s that I feel if they’re going to use it, they should at least try to not be lazy with it. It’s actually a really heavy concept (defying a theoretical being that would be responsible for holding the universe as the characters know it together in one way or another has a lot of implications), so really should not be treated so shallow. That’s just my two cents.
  17. Yeah that would be really awful, worse than anything else that’s been happening, IMO.
  18. They said all in the mainline games. That may exclude mythical.
  19. The presentation was much shorter than I thought it would be but some nice confirmations. Happy we can play Crown Tundra in late October rather than November. Also glad to see GO connectivity is still happening even if they didn’t even give a release date for it. Lol
  20. DQVIII is very good but in my opinion, the plot of XI is just more interesting, mostly because the characters all get a bit fleshed out more than in VIII. For the Ys series, so far I have only played Ys VIII, but I really enjoyed that one. Particularly they did one of my least favourite tropes very well, and the plot overall was quite unique and engaging. It does suffer from a bit of a lack of focus in the first arc, but it all pans out in the end! If Ys IX is anything similar, I probably would like it, too.
  21. I actually really liked XII in particular, when I got around to playing it on Switch. It felt much shorter than other mainline FF games, though. Usually I wouldn’t complain about that but I felt particularly engaged in that story/world and wished they had fleshed it out a bit more. Honestly I think as a general series feel though I prefer Dragon Quest. Just overall more interesting to me. I guess I’m a sucker for the chosen pure hearted hero trope.
  22. Well I recently took the plunge and got into this game. It’s quite fun in and of itself, but the micro transactions are annoying. Also strangely expensive? Like, would I really spend $50 to get access to one character and kart, and a handful of gems? Nope... Here’s my friend code if anyone besides @The Albraskanstill plays. Thanks for being my first friend by the way. 4537 5436 4647
  23. I recently splurged and bought Simon from Castlevania and preordered Hero. I would like to represent 1 amiibo from each of my favourite series, at least.
  24. I wonder if this means more console exclusivity or not. I feel like in today’s market buying Bethesda really translates to mostly getting a chunk of their sales (and the potential to apply pressure on them to produce more consumable games, but I’m not certain they would). I don’t think they would turn around on their recent cross-platform initiative because of this, I mean by keeping options open they stand to make more money than forcing console exclusivity, right?
