  1. uhhh if we're talking just gameplay, a lot of stuff isn't "new" per se, but it's a combination of many previous mechanics and tried and true ideas to create something better. kinda like that design philosophy you see a lot of people doing these days and it works *really* damn well. it's combat is basically cocaine, super fun, contains a stealth element, and so forth. is it the best thing ever made? no. is it perfect? no. is it one of the best in the industry? yeah.
  2. just as an fyi ace i don't hate persona 5; exact opposite of it. it's my 3rd favorite game of all time currently (right below the chrono series and TTYD) but i'm just also the type of person who will discuss and analyze flaws for what not to do since i, unfortunately, out of brazen insanity, make games. (I actually really love making games and there's nothing else I'd rather be doing)
  3. everything else is perfectly fine. if it doesn't appeal to you, that's completely 100% fine, but the lazy execution behind the writing really just leaves a lot of holes and the voice acting thing... I'll let that slide and say "that's been more of an industry problem than an Atlus/Persona problem" it would have been a trainwreck
  4. also yuki my thing is more yelling at this industry for not actually putting more VA variety. it makes it obnoxious upon replaying; if they just gave more lines to each character, esp in a game that's like, 90+ friggin hours, that'd be fine. this happens in a lot of games with voice acting sadly and it's more apparent when it's longer but nobody's going to critique it because it's a GOTY contender so it did nothing wrong, clearly
  5. it sucks too because the one BIG fix persona 5 really needed, and the only fix I'd say, is in it's script I mean could you imagine if the chrono games, TTYD, or shining force (the camelot ones) got away with the same lazy shit for execution?
  6. thnx bby really though persona 5 is a hilarious showcase of even if there is a budget in music, VAing always gets shafted so hard. I think the only studio that doesn't shaft VA in games is probably supergiant which sucks because a ton of games, esp in triple A, try to make more VAing a thing
  7. LOOKIN GOOD CROW LOOKIN GOOD SKULL FOX U GOTTA AIM FOX U GOTTA AIM

  9. ok that's not even his plot thread and you should know that you can't judge a book by it's cover but i mean if we're talking about aesthetics then here have ur stupid cat
  10. ok you didn't even play the chrono series and you and I pretty much agree on game writing stuff (bar the fact that i'm less cynical sometimes but I also DEVELOP THESE STUPID THINGS) so you sit your mouth down kitty
  11. can't tell who you are but whether or not you're zora he's wrong. also cross is perfectly fine lol. most people just don't understand how deep it is as a sequel since the writer i mean granted, both cross and trigger have their own set of problems, but even with that into account, it's still better and more polished (given the system at the time) than like, 99% of games, at least. sidenote: cross was suppose to have on map battles instead of loading screens but the PS1 sucks. it would have done better if they just waited for the PS2 era late in that cycle, i feel.
