  1. The cat of Toriyama’s that he based Beerus off of, is he or she still around? Wonder how they’re processing him suddenly being gone.
  2. Despite my criticisms of some of his Dragon Ball stuff in more recent times, damn if this news doesn't hit like a truck. RIP to a legend. I knew he wasn't that old yet, so this was shocking. Leaning more toward watching Dragon Ball Daima now I guess. The premise wasn't for me, but it was his way of wanting to do a return to form passion project, and it's the last thing we got from him as it turns out, so may as well see it out of respect. The cause of death apparently was blood pressing against his brain. Subdermal hematoma that's called.
  3. Isaac in the previous Castlevania show was racewashed but still easily considered one of the best characters despite that. Where were those Nocturne critics when it came to him? I liked Annette’s OG game design, but her Netflix appearance and story I didn’t dislike either. Since it was brought up, while I’m no review bomber, felt the Captain Marvel actress commenting on representation was kinda tone deaf considering the Wonder Woman movie (great film, shame about the sequel though) just came out a year or two before hers, and she was acting like she played one of the first ever live action female superheroes. Had a similar issue with how they were trying to make a big deal about the half cyborg woman as a protagonist in the last Terminator film, when the series prior was renowned for fucking Sarah Connor, one of the biggest badasses of her time. Not that I let the noise take away from my enjoyment of other characters, films, or anything, but a lot of that commentary is often just pretentious when I recall the representation which came before them. Back to Castlevania though, while I didn’t find Nocturne quite as memorable as most seasons of the previous show, still glad I saw it and looking forward to more of it whenever. This has been the most in-fighting with a fandom over an adaptation that I’ve seen in awhile; mostly for the wrong reasons, but I get used to it.
  4. Surprisingly enjoyed Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. Shows you can still have some Mighty Morphin elements (Lord Zedd in this case and Billy back as the OG blue ranger again here and there) without it being all about that. In a way I saw it as a followup to Once & Always.
  5. While it expectedly won’t make Aquaman 1 numbers, ought to sell more than the other recent DC films just on releasing in the holidays like A1 did. The visuals and direction seem on par with the first film too. Glad with the DCEU ending on this if nothing else.
  6. Strangely, found out that the DLC comes with no new achievements or trophies for the non-Switch versions of the game. I’ll still get it at some point soon when I’m not nearly as busy, and I’m sure leveling up the new characters and playing the new mode will remain fulfilling enough on its own, but it’s kinda odd.
  7. … So did you end up playing Pokemon Stadium 2? Since I was pretty much the only one here who talked about their experiences with both Stadium games again after they came out (among some other titles which I feel are hidden gems on N64 NSO such as WinBack), figured I’d may as well ask. The Stadium games + Goldeneye alone made it worth upgrading my NSO plan, though now I expect mostly diminishing returns from the 64 library far as additional releases (Diddy Kong Racing or at least Donkey Kong 64 would be nice though), and now just waiting for more things to eventually be added to GB/GBA online.
  8. Looks fun. Expendables peaked for me with the 2nd one, but still curious enough to check this one out sometime.
  9. This kind of explains it I guess. I enjoyed the first game, but everything after I just didn’t care for for the most part. Not a fan of the writing & Injustice’s particular brand of edginess, and other things DC have taken inspiration from it more than I would like. Not sure if that’s good or bad in Blue Beetle’s case though. If I get around to seeing it, won’t be high priority; so if not at cinema, then whenever I get a month of Max again after it has been out awhile. It’s been getting decent reviews though apparently, so good to hear. Also glad this is not DCEU and that they’ve finally moved on from that dead universe after last year’s announcement. I’m still pretty content from Guardians 3, but the TMNT I’ll see at some point eventually.
  10. Finished the Pokemon Stadium 2 grind, R2 mode included. Turns out all you mostly need are the rentals that know counter or mirror coat. Hitmonchan (counter), Corsola (mirror coat), Voltorb (mirror coat), and the obligatory Wobbuffet, to name a few. Ones that know self destruct and explosion can be good too, to get some of the more annoying opponents out of the way quick. Rental Weezing, Graveler, Voltorb, and such; not to mention Haunter with destiny bond. Also having a backup save before a match starts. The RNG that determines whether certain moves like Thunder will hit or miss as well as which 3 out of 6 Pokemon the opponent chooses is decided as soon as the match starts, and reloading to an earlier point in the match changes nothing. There might be some other things I'm not recalling at the moment, but that's mostly the gist of it. The randomizing of Challenge Cup was still a breath of fresh air since you only have rentals to work with otherwise in battling, and playing the mini-games again was certainly a trip down memory lane. Much as I still like the ones in the first Stadium, I think they improved upon them in Stadium 2. That and I have more childhood memories of playing them with a friend or two.
  11. The new show is about Richter, which is way past Trevor's time. Hyped for that at least. Shame they skipped past Simon’s time too, but aside from being an OG game protagonist and thusly iconic, he seems to have had the least story involvement, so understandable glossing over him far as adaptations go. On the downside, it also means Captain N will remain the only media adaptation Simon will have ever gotten.
  12. Tbh, I forgot this was coming soon. This’ll be my DC film rebound from The Flash.
  13. https://screenrant.com/superman-lois-season-4-updates-cast-story/ The only one of the supporting characters confirmed not to return so far is general Lane, so I guess he just gets kidnapped only to never be seen again. Everyone else seems to be up in the air, though they’ll have less screen time even if they return. Appears to be budgeting problems between this and season 4 having a few or couple less episodes than the previous ones. Unfortunate with how well the show had seemingly been doing, and most if not all the extended cast of characters had grown on me over time, particularly with S3. They all gave an actual community feel to Smallville, along with John Henry Irons being one of the main action staples aside from Superman, but hopefully whatever else S4 has in store makes up for a certain lack of them.
  14. The problem with Superman Returns was that it was basically a love letter tribute to the Reeves era which was mostly campy and didn't have too much action. It worked for its time, but by the 2000's and after Batman had just rebooted with Batman Begins, them still being stuck in the past with Superman instead of rebooting him for cinema then and there was ass backwards. We at least got a more modern actiony Superman some years later of course with Man of Steel, but it came a little late, along with of course them and Snyder rushing a cinematic universe after in some poor despite attempt to catch up to Marvel. It's great to be a Superman fan now at least (even an upcoming Adult Swim cartoon on July 7th), but had he gotten some successful films during the 2000's like Batman did under Nolan, the DCEU come the 2010's might've been kinder to Superman as a result... Or it might've still been the mess it mostly was. Hard to say. On the TV side of things, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman was his time in the 90's (apart from the animated series), despite not getting films like Batman was then. I vaguely remember seeing some episodes of Lois and Clark as a kid, but then was introduced to it a couple decades or so later when it was re-airing on TV. It's on HBO Max now though, or just Max as the app is now known as. Had a cheap budget, but for a 90's time capsule piece, would say it's worth checking out still. Dean Cain Superman had great chemistry with Teri Hatcher's Lois Lane too. Then there's Smallville and then Tyler Hoechlin's Superman in the CWverse. While the latter started out as a supporting character in the Supergirl show, his own show (Superman and Lois) that he later had after the Arrowverse mostly became phased out ended up being a great success. Also worth checking out, although season 2 was kinda mid, but season 3 which it just ended on today was great and looking forward to more whenever it returns. And yeah, you pretty much summed up Cavill. It felt like he wanted to play a more optimistic and heroic Superman, but was hamstrung by Snyder. I liked him and wanted him back as much as anyone, and then when it kinda happened with Black Adam followed by the reboot announcement, I just went "Oh..." and moved on. Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, and the rest being reportedly done hurt more with that said, since their characters were given more chances than Cavill's.
  15. James Gunn doesn’t miss. He’s got this. Also, the new Superman apparently said this in 2019-
  16. I’d unironically rather rewatch Batman and Robin than a lot of the DCEU’s garbage like Birds of Prey, the first Suicide Squad, etc. B&R turned out the way it did because WB told the director to make it mostly in a way in which it could sell toys like with all the vehicles, but the film with its neon style of Gotham at least entertained me. Arnold Freeze I would take over Jared Leto Joker or Jesse Eisenberg Luthor. Uma Therman at least looked the part for Poison Ivy but unfortunately wasn’t well acted. That said, Bane was the worst part (oh, and Batgirl), but The Dark Knight Rises didn’t do all too well by him either. Both times he was a henchman for a woman, but Ivy I could at least make sense of having some influence over him since his venom comes from plants. Far as Batman Forever, Jim Carrey Riddler only got more cringe as time went on, but the goofy Two-Face killed it in the long run. I honestly put Forever and B&R in the same tier, with neither being that much better than the other. Frankly, seeing The Flash crash and burn after all the bad marketing is really cathartic. The entire movie just screamed "corporate", from all the unnecessary and terribly executed cameos to the use of dead people’s faces through AI, just to prop up a movie that they clearly had no confidence in otherwise to the absurd astroturfing campaign they tried to salvage Ezra Miller’s reputation.
  17. Huh… According to Catherine Sutherland (Kat), her character and Tommy were going to be divorced/estranged in Once & Always’ original script. Given the circumstances of JDF in real life prior to his tragic passing, glad that didn’t happen now. They must’ve changed it for that reason, so they’re still together in-universe. Part of me’s still annoyed at the whole Dear John letter Tommy got from Kimberly, but that’s on the writers. Oh, the writers later wanted to put Tommy and Kimberly back together since the comics were always pushing the two. Also Jason and Trini which opens up more questions on a thought.
  18. Not gonna lie, I had forgotten which monster Snizzard was when it came to Power Rangers Once & Always. Apparently it was the monster of the week in season 1 episode 14, which Kimberly had killed with a headshot from the power bow. The minotaur monster I did remember though, because it was the first monster the rangers learned to use their weapons against. Why those two monsters in particular though? Seemed kinda random when they could’ve had Goldar or anyone else back out of Rita’s minions. Still cool with what we got. It just seemed… Random.
  19. Nice. With the mostly positive reception, I think this getting some kind of sequel or continuation is definitely possible. At least more so than Power Rangers 2017 with how poorly it unfortunately did at the box office, but with Once And Always being on a streaming service, was bound to get more views and everything, and any of the original cast would be happy to return again if given the chance. Special thanks to David Yost for putting the fans ahead of himself. He would’ve never returned otherwise after how he was treated during the Saban era.
  20. There could’ve been maybe a little more character returns too, that said. Ah well… I guess I give it 7 or 8/10 or so as is.
  21. Outside of the weird end fight CG, I was perfectly fine with it. Gave much needed closure to OG fans. Is refreshing too to have one important part of my childhood not defiled by some bad reboot or continuation. The 2017 Mighty Morphin film was mid at worst, but Once And Always I enjoyed a lot more.
  22. Interesting… Finished Stadium on R2 earlier btw. That feel when Lance on R2 doesn’t have a single Dragonite but a typical Charizard instead. Would think Mewtwo as the final boss would be one of the hardest parts of the game, but even with him being the ultimate Pokemon at the time, he’s still just one Pokemon, so if you paralyze him with Thunder Wave before he becomes OP with Amnesia and eventually switch to something else that can KO him, it’s a wrap. Can’t wait till other psychics like Alakazam and Hypno have actual type weaknesses again on Stadium 2.
  23. I forgot how repetitive the Pokemon Stadium grind was. Don't have a problem with using rentals or anything, but just beating the base game difficulty was such a boring chore now. I guess I gave the first Stadium a pass back then because Pokemon was still new at the time and we didn't have that much back then compared to now, but all the padding with the gym leader castle and especially the Poke Cup and Prime Cup having four difficulties for you to beat was grueling. That said, R2 difficulty once you unlock it still keeps you more engaged. I cleared most of the gym leader castle of it (stopped at the Elite 4 for the time being) and did the first three difficulties on Poke Cup and Prime Cup. Even on R2 it's quite a bit of a grind, although more of a challenging one than a boring one like with R1, but taking a good break before I try the actual hard stuff that remains. Multi-tasking helped with the grind before long, but whenever Stadium 2 drops on NSO, gonna be more mindful of my time when it comes to the gym leader castle, with it being twice as long as Stadium 1's. Stadium 2's cups are at least more reasonable though, and the one cup type in particular that gives you a random set of Pokemon keeps things more fresh and interesting.
  24. Why is the NoA video about Stadium’s reveal now private? Edit: Nevermind, it’s public again. Guess it initially got uploaded prematurely.
  25. Huh, next week. Glad Stadium 1 and 2’s release windows were separate at least, so you can focus on one at a time.
