  1. Nope. I must be forbidden for being too sexy and also cool.
  2. No, nothing displays. Not even the server name.
  3. *sweats in Wii Fit/Villager main* It's a legitimate strategy! And Ultimate's reduced invulnerability makes it much riskier. Though maybe that's negated by the faster gameplay and especially lag making true reactions impossible.
  4. I joined one of these Smash Saturdays way back but couldn't stand the lag. I heard the servers got a slight improvement though, and I feel like socializing, so is there room for a Wii Fit Trainer tomorrow?
  5. Unbelievable! Those were my first games. I have every pixel of Holodrum and Labrynna memorized and every bit of them still holds up just as well 23 years later.
  6. I had to stop playing Pikmin because every night I was dreaming about optimized D A N D O R I for challenge stages. So now that I've finally gotten to sleep at a decent hour, all of my stress dreams merged together on top of only having until sunset to defeat all enemies and collect all treasures in the area.
  7. I tried to replay Pikmin 2 last week and gave up. After playing Pikmin 3 with the GamePad, I can't go back to controlling Olimar and Louie 100% manually. There's not much point in having two captains if they can't actually move independently. And the caves. The caves are awful in Pikmin 2. Apparently they're randomized, which is why they're full of dead ends and void of any personality. For all the work Nintendo spent making the randomization algorithms, they could've just designed decent cave levels.
  8. Pokken Tournament DX did get a literal Game Trial rerun, but dare I say that game has more appeal than a yearly update to a pro sports game on a Nintendo console.
  9. What a fascinating discussion you have raised, Destiny Hero of the Ninfora online forum. I actually employed Dandori skills in my personal life this weekend, as I endeavored to clean the house. I thought ahead to devise such time-saving measures as waiting to clean the bathroom until after showering, and storing objects with similar destinations together so they could be later moved together in fewer trips up and down the stairs for my beleaguered, aging body. Know what I DIDN'T find in the house? Pikmin. Because Pikmin will not exist for another 250,000,000 years. Know what I DID find? A frog. In a second-story hallway, at 3 AM. No I cannot fathom how it got in here. No I did not sleep well.
  10. knock knock who's there a new nintendo switch online game trial has arrived a new nintendo switch on-- JUST KIDDING IT'S MLB THE SHOW AGAIN NOOOO GET OUT OF MY HOUSE thank you for reading my horror story please rate 5 stars and i'll rate urs 2 NO FLAME COMMENTS baaaai :3
  11. Pikmin 4 releases July 21st, 2023. The demo is available now. Points of discussion (I'm playing through the demo and that's all I know about the game): 1. Pikmin is based on the Japanese art of dandori, which is about planning the order and execution of tasks to maximize efficiency except actually I spend so long thinking about it that I run out of time to actually get anything done. I don't recommend it! 2. The opening scene of Pikmin 4 appears to completely annihilate series canon while even retconning the plot of previous games. I had to pause the game immediately and go for a walk, and I still lost a lot of sleep last night. Y'all, I'm not okay. 3. Gameplay's pretty good. Feels like it combines the best of all previous games while adding new stuff. Hopefully the game's relentless, intrusive assist messages are just for the first area. My character is Shmep and he is the pikmin people's newest and dumbest cannon fodder while the rest of the crew lounges around and tell him he's totally doing such a great job out there. 4. However, you cannot pet the dog. Because I'm feeling charitable, I'll give this game a 1/5.
  12. Now that's a GIF that takes me back to when I had a bright future ahead of me...
  13. Yeah Elephant Mario is... definitely the most emotionally distressing power-up so far. I didn't need to see it. Aside from that, Wonder looks freaking amazing. I haven't actually wanted a 2D Mario game since NSMB. It does seem way too psychedelic for my tastes, though--looks like Mario's been eating the wrong kinds of mushrooms lately (a joke which we are all going to hear daily for the next five years).
  14. Okay, people who defended Scarlet looking like a Wii game in 2022: Defend Detective Pikachu 2 looking like a GameCube game in 2023.
  15. Deleted altogether? Not just off the phone but still linked to My Nintendo? Well, either way, it sounds like you prioritized responsibility.
  16. @Tyranogre UMMMMMMMM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.............. So, like, something is about to happen in Fire Emblem Heroes................ and if you are ready for your wallet to die in literally the most complete way imaginable, like, go ahead and click below. But otherwise, stay far, far away and block out all news about this game for the rest of forever and live in peace with all the Tikis you have collected thus far in your days on this planet. You have been personally warned.
  17. I will say, this game is much better on Normal mode--without Hard's endless damage sponges and near total removal of healing item drops on non-story stages. Which, by the way, is one of the dumbest design choices ever. It's like Skyward Sword's hard mode, which is just the same game again except the player is forced to backtrack to the Skyloft marketplace to heal every few minutes. There are a lot of choices to NOT repeat from Skyward Sword, and that one makes half of them look like BOTW. The game is too easy on this difficulty because I've figured out how to stun lock enemies. It's either too easy or way too unfair. Maybe I'm just in a good mood because I FINALLY got a midair attack multiplier for Revali, and a big stack of them on a strong bow.
  18. A game which expects the player to die so frequently shouldn't be punishing the player so severely. I have so many other games to play which will actually let me play them. I'm not finding its gameplay to be so much better than other rhythm games that it's worth the frontloaded frustration. I can't believe I used to spend entire weeks of my free time training up just one competitive Pokemon on the DS. I'm going to stay as far away from that kind of cost of admission as possible for the rest of my dumb life.
  19. The trial for Cadence of Hyrule is live through the next week. I was excited to play it, but the difficulty and punishments are beyond brutal, especially together. I'm thrown right into the action with no opportunity to learn, and when my character is quickly killed, I lose everything I gathered and am sent back to the start. Even for $0, Cadence of Hyrule is asking a very high price for me to get into this game, and I am not desperate enough for new games to pay it. I am just going from one lousy Zelda spinoff to the next over here.
  20. exCUSE ME?????? Niantic won't let men wear shorts that hit above the ankle, BUT WE CAN HAVE PINK THIGH-HIGH BOOTS? This is the fruitiest abomination I've ever seen and the whole gay-ass Puck cosplay is not worth half its asking price and I am redownloading Pokemon Go and buying this NOW. (We also have, like, how many hundreds of clothing options yet still have zero options for face, body type, or even hairstyle? Okay.)
  21. I just unlocked Riju the chief and I'm baffled by how this character, too, passed Nintendo's quality control. As if the game wasn't chaotic enough already, they zip all around the screen while moving physically too--and so does the camera. I can't tell where my character is or what they're doing, let alone what the enemies are doing. That's another major flaw with the Warriors series--you need to carefully watch what the big enemy is doing, but your character's giant, flashy attacks obscure the screen with overdone effects and flashes. Similar pitfall to Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, which I got on sale around the same time. The graphics and animations are probably beautiful, but they're so fast and overdone that I can't actually see them. The old Wii graphics look like Pong by comparison, but I've appreciated them much more because I CAN SEE THEM. Anyway, I'm playing on Normal now because apparently there's no change in rewards in Age of Calamity and damage sponges are not a fun challenge anyway. It's usually too easy now, but I can enjoy that if only out of a sense of vengeance.
  22. I played the demo for Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes extensively. It has much better maps (plus associated mechanics and controls), but the combat feels very dull. I don't see why a Warriors game couldn't use the best of both. I'm also playing on Hard, because these days Normal is actually Easy and Easy is just autoplay. I get that some of my gripes are with the Warriors series in general, but some parts of it are especially poorly adapted to Age of Calamity. And after churning out dozens of these games, I expected the developer to have a MUCH better handle on their gameplay's vision. OH AND I DIDN'T EVEN MENTION THE DIVINE BEAST STAGES. Holy shit those have nearly had me chucking my controllers through the TV. I love motion controls. Like, I couldn't play Halo for my life but since the moment Nintendo gave me a gyroscope I've been 360 no-scoping keese halfway across Hyrule. I can't even believe the shots I make so effortlessly. But these stages? I didn't know it was even possible for something under the Nintendo brand to be so horrifically dysfunctional. Even beyond how it bizarrely uses the left joy-con instead of the right, I cannot for my life find any consistency to the way it detects movement--and I'm pretty sure that its center is constantly moving, like when using the touch screen for Super Mario 64 DS. This developer managed to take the most awesome possible scenario and make it possibly the single most disappointing gaming experience of my life. The only good one was Vah Naboris, and only because it doesn't lose any playability with motion controls off. Still a grind, though. Not at all how the developers probably wanted it to play out, because if you charge in then you go from full health to dead in five seconds.
