Nintendo is way too slow with the online scene. Everyone else seems to have functional online with some sort of anti-cheat and Nintendo can't even seem to get chat or lobbies right. So far the only justifications they seem to have for their online being a paid service is renting out ancient NES games and possibly paywalling the only way to do data backups. They should have figured this all out before they started asking people to pay for the service- the hacking should come as no surprise to them as we've been doing this for decades.

As someone who created texture hacks for Brawl and enjoys the freedom included with homebrew: please don't lump us in with them.
 
I'd be very happy if Nintendo could stop all hacks from working online. Those of us who just want to back up saves and do more innocent things have no desire to use this stuff online. Those people are ruining it for everyone.

After seeing so many characters getting alt costumes I REALLY hope they finally took the effort to give Samus different suit models instead of recolors. I've got a feeling they couldn't be bothered, though.

Also yknow what would be nice? A Metroid Stage that ISN'T drowning everyone in stage hazards. I mean, I like the Final Destination thing they enabled for all stages but I'm beginning to suspect people who haven't played Metroid are getting the idea that everything everywhere is lava.

Smash 4 definitely had some improvements over Brawl- namely the physics. I feel like they found a pretty decent medium between Melee's speed and Brawl's... whatever happens when you're not tripping. There's definitely some stuff that could use polish and that "magic" as you mention.
 
It's nice that the Gamecube adapter currently works with the Switch. I hear good things about the pro controller but I just love my muscle memory.

Well, i finally got a 5* focus from the Fallen Heroes banner. In fact, I got two of them, one of them a multiple, in a summoning of four 5* pulls and a 4* pull.
 
 
It started with the Elincia on a no-green session, so I said screw this and pulled the rest of the circle since the 5* rate was at nearly 5% and getting broken anyway. So first was the Celica, and then back to back Hardin. Niles is there because lol. The Elincia is -HP/+Def, Celica is -HP/+Atk, and the two Hardin are +HP/-Atk and +Atk/-Res
 
Also I finally got my Summer Corrin! Checking her IVs now and... she is +HP/-Def. Not ideal, but hey, I'll fucking take it after missing out so long already. Now I just need Summer Elise...

Getting for free what is arguably the best current version of my favorite lord without having to spend orbs trying to snipe him on a banner that lasts shorter than most and that he is going to share with two other units each time (I got Sanai 2 Sanaki last time)  is more than worth it. Like, sorry if it wasn't the "meta community choice" but you can hardly be surprised people wanted him. 

Managed to roll Hardin at +atk -def! Awesome! Won't be the tankiest thing in the world but he'll be REALLY well rounded and benefit greatly from Ward Armor.

Pro tip for grinding out stage clears for the orb reward:
 
once you get the max hp bar from floor 100 just go back to floor 1-1 and don't even bother tapping. You can literally allow every enemy to plow through you and still win. Easy clears.

My motivation to play this is nearly rock bottom. They really need to find new ways to incentivize playing this that doesn't involve limited-time grindfests.

Ciao paisanos!  I don't intend to be as active here as I was on NSider2 but since I know a fair amount of people here, I thought I'd swing by.  My Mario collection has over doubled since the NS2 days and I've since been archiving for MarioWiki.  I have some Mario stuff that isn't even public online yet, like movie scripts, import oddities, and development prototypes. You can also often find me on my Twitter or Backloggery. One of these days I'll upload my collection but maybe not here as I don't want to crash the site.  I don't intend to be here much after all the drama of NS2 but I hope to add some Mario fun nonetheless.  Age and experience have mellowed me but I still hope and expect mutual goodwill and treatment here.  We're all here cuz we love video games, 'nuff said! @(;o}D
 
For those who don't know me, I like Mario. A LOT.  Like, think "obsessed."  Mario is my love, Mario is my life.  And Nintendo's recent masterpiece, Super Mario Odyssey, feels like a love letter to superfans like me!

At first I thought this was really stupid but after thinking about it it's actually brilliant. They have actually revived playing with boxes! It's recyclable, it's cheap to sell and mass-produce, it has wide appeal, and there's very little market risk for producing a ton of it. I don't actually want one but I'm quite surprised by this clever idea.
 
I believe it was confirmed that they'll sell the kits separately from the software at about $10- super easy to replace!
