  1. it's wild to me that anybody can be upset at delaying a game in 2019 when the industry standard is to release half-finished early-access games that need months of patches to reach a point where they're functional i welcome delays at this point, give me a game that's polished and working pls

  6. Watched two movies with Nyan this month. Pokémon: Detective Pikachu I liked it more than I thought it would; I went in with very tempered expectations. I am among those that wanted Danny Devito to voice Pikachu, but I got used to Ryan Reynolds in the role and thought he did pretty well. I never played the 3DS game so I didn't recognize any of the characters, in fact I wasn't even sure if the movie had taken any characters out of the game until I came here and saw XLW and Ridley Prime's comments. Plot reaction & spoilers: A Dog's Journey A really cheesy, heartwarming story about a dog that reincarnates itself to look after a troubled girl as she grows older. Never saw the prequel to this (A Dog's Purpose). It had a lot of conveniences in the plot to keep it moving quickly, and was just alright. Not too much to say about it actually. In summary, Detective Pikachu was fun.

  8. The best-case scenario I can think of is that Dildo Diamond and Penis Pearl will come with some sort of fuckery that adds the National Dex to SwSh upon linking up with them. That's how FRLG added Kanto Pokemon to RS.

  12. I think Square and Nintendo won this year. Most of Nintendo’s games seem full of quality. And surprises. Square has FF, DQ, RS, and Mana. And the Avengers. Everyone else was meh for me.

  13. Heard it here first. The new title is “Gasp of the Tamed” and not just because it’s like the opposite of “Breath of the Wild” but also: Throughout BotW we knew nothing on how the DBs and Guardians worked, what powered them, etc. My guess is the Sheikah imprisoned TP Ganondorf after his battle with Link. They then began using his lingering power of the Triforce, or at least his life force’s ability to use it, and started siphoning it off as a power source. Twilight Princess already had some familiar stone-tech with similar design to the DBs and Guardians, so knowing Ganon keeps coming back, they use his own power against him to create this new tech. Like usual, barriers weaken, often by a guiding hand or Ganon’s own influence (LttP, WW) and he takes over control of the tech he’s being drained to power, and BotW happens. Calamity is stopped, but Zelda ‘s curiosity on the technology isn’t. They check out the source and find that using all the energy of the DBs has lifted the amount needed to restrain Ganon and we now see him waking up. A Gasp of life returning to the one who was tamed.

  14. Seeing it on the Treehouse stream, the dungeon creation in Link's Awakening really seems to be Zelda's version of Super Mario Maker. I can dig it.

  15. Alright going to try to collect my thoughts on all the games shown now that I finished putting together a summary post. Luigi's Mansion 3 looks dope, pretty much exactly what I'd hope to see from a sequel. Can't wait to check into the Hotel Luigi, such a lovely place. Link's Awakening continues to look adorable and creating your own dungeon(?) is definitely interesting. I guess all of the rumors/expectations for Smash DLC were true, both the Dragon Quest Hero and Banjo-Kazooie are in! The DLC is really a third-party fest but I don't mind, these seem like fun additions. Fire Emblem: Three Houses: honestly it doesn't matter what they show of the game I'm all in on it regardless. Astral Chain continues to look intriguing but not 100% sold on it. Same for Daemon X Machina actually. I can't believe they got The Witcher 3 running on the Switch! Though of course it's just months after I played through the entire 100-hour game on my PS4, so I probably won't buy it again, but it's still cool to see The Switcher 3. Trials of Mana (aka Seiken Densetsu 3) hell yes! Not sure if I want to play the original in the collection or wait for the remaster but I'm definitely excited to play it. No More Heroes 3 yeeeeessss! Grasshopper also confirmed on Twitter that it's a Switch exclusive, but regardless I'm just excited to see Travis Touchdown again in a full NMH game. Definitely did not expect to see a new Contra game! Nor a game based on The Dark Crystal for that matter. Empire of Sin looks pretty cool, I'll have to look into that one more. Never played Panzer Dragoon but I know it's well regarded so that's pretty cool to see. I'll have to give it a try. The new Zelda teaser is so exciting! Cannot wait to see what comes of that, and I love the idea of Link and Zelda potentially working together (maybe even co-op?! :-o) Oh yeah like avalonknight mentions below, pretty cute intro with Doug Bowser. Though now I kind of want to see a whole Direct hosted by Koopa King Bowser.

  17. This game looks so good. Also. does this mean we can finally just create our own roads and not need to worry about putting patterns on the ground so our guests don't accidentally ruin our grass? Is that finally not a thing? Because if so, best animal crossing/10

  21. That FFVII reveal of Tifa was worth it. Dragon Quest XI DE still says it's coming out Fall, we need a release date The Last Remanent Remake is out now on Nintendo Switch. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles still does not have definitive release date. Just 2019 winter. Oninaki comes out August 22nd on PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch And The Avengers game comes out May 15th 2020, with no loot boxes, and free DLC characters releases. I think that's all that caught my attention.

  25. Late to comment, but I did see Godzilla King of Monsters a little while back which I really enjoyed too. Shame the critics kinda ruined the fun though since based on the criticism and ergo the lower box office sales than that of Godzilla 2014, reshoots for Godzilla vs King Kong will be done to make sure there's more human scenes I guess, because that's what we see these monster flicks for! Human drama and struggles, while Godzilla and them just fight in the background! (Really, as much as I liked Godzilla 2014, that was a real problem I had with it after awhile like many others) But King of Monsters was a fun ride, between seeing how they did Rodan, Ghidorah, and everything... Hard to see them topping that regardless of the kind of direction they take next. And then there's X-Men Dark Phoenix which I just got back from. Was unsure on whether to see it after awhile at first due to the (unsurprisingly) bad reviews, but the mixed reception from the general audience made me curious enough to still give a watch, and it was just that, a mixed bag. It definitely had the spirit of the X-Men, especially with the fight scenes, but the problem was how the plot didn't really feel like it was going anywhere for me, with the vague introduction of the aliens known as the D'Bari. All the main mutants got their just due at least, from Magneto kinda getting another redemption arc, to even Cyclops and Nightcrawler getting their unique moments, the latter of whom I liked seeing all killy stabby, but overall I liked Apocalypse as a movie better, which at least felt like it was going somewhere, even if it wasn't as good as its predecessors. Apparently the director originally hoped Dark Phoenix would be the first in a new line of films focusing on the younger X-Men, which probably would've led to more underwhelming films like DP, so makes part of me more thankful the Disney acquisition of Fox/X-Men happened when it did. This was just one last sucker before the inevitable reboot, but I have to say, even the Fox universe deserved a better film to go out on than this, but when they hadn't changed their formula too much since 2000 (despite how better MCU was doing with its Marvel properties), guess it was to be expected... At least Wolverine had the Logan film as a high sendoff, but man, end of an era.

  26. It's kind of crazy that they're still supporting Just Dance on Wii. Are they still selling enough of it on the platform to keep it going like that? Still, that's mighty impressive!
