  1. This happens pretty frequently when there's not a whole lot of client work. My workload is pretty spiky; sometimes there's a lot to do, while other times there's virtually nothing. I tend to prefer to be slightly overloaded than underworked though. The days drag on if there's not much to keep me actively engaged. I switched to a 32-hour work week a couple of months ago as well. Taking Wednesdays off has been such a massive quality-of-life improvement for so many reasons. The extra day off gives me another day to recuperate since I'm a night owl; I more consistently have tasks available to do when I'm at work; and I can schedule things on Wednesdays without needing to interrupt my work day, so I can stay focused on programming when I'm on the clock.

  4. Huh.... i was slightly expecting something from Gen 3 considering we've gotten a Gen 2 Poke with Mareep... Not complaining though, more Larvitar candies would be good Especially since i don't have Pupitar or Tyranitar yet.. and even more so if it gets a shiny variant available Considering it's been a trend for past CDs, id be surprised if it didn't

  8. Representing FE Shadow Dragon, Marth makes a return to FE Cipher after a long absence. True to his character, he rallies his fellow allies as they begin their journey, and is not one who values himself over others. There's been a recent trend where you can see that they aren't putting the card numbers on the sample card images from Twitter anymore. It might be too early to say, but I'm guessing it may be because they want to keep daily reveals from possibly spoiling other potential cards. On one hand it means we have a little less to speculate about now, but it could also mean that moving forward card reveals can be that much more surprising. And on a different note: I overlooked this initially, but a recent post from the official Twitter does explicitly say that this weekend's livestream will cover future featured titles, so new Series 14 info ought to be there.

  9. Yeah, I think that would be fine. He should be the largest playable character in the game. I just think for me I'll need to adjust to the change for a little bit before I'm more attached to whatever design they go with. I'm fine with a playable Ridley, it's just that ideally I want Ridley as Ridley.

    General movie discussion

I don't have it but the friend I went with to see Deadpool 2 last night does and she seems to like it a lot. The cost and minor inconvenience of using it (I guess she has to upload a picture of her ticket stub to verify it?) seem to be well worth the value of seeing so many movies. Hell, the monthly price is actually less than the cost of one evening show ticket around here. Also when we went last night apparently since she has Moviepass it gave me a discount on my ticket; neither of us knew that was even a thing, in fact I don't even know if it was just a limited time bonus or something but if it always works like that it's another perk. I really don't see how Moviepass can be sustainable on its current business model though. And I don't know if that means you should just take advantage of it now while you can or if you're better off ignoring it before it radically changes or folds completely.

    Fire Emblem Heroes

Some editor took it down because they think the arguments made against it are somehow valid, even though they aren't.

  13. I don't think I trust my internet connection enough to play a game entirely via streaming, at the very least not unless I got a LAN adapter for my Switch. Now if it was just a digital rental I might be on board, but the uncertainty of streaming makes me hesitant. And it's especially ironic that they would do this on the Switch, where the whole point of the console is that you can carry it around with you and play anywhere.

  14. That's an interesting way to do things and I wonder if they'll release any info about why this is the route they chose to take. Phantasy Star Online 2 is headed to Switch as well and it too is cloud based.

  15. I think in game events is something that the series could really benefit from kind of like Splatoon does with Splatfest. I know Pokemon does it with exclusive legendaries and entering codes and some tourneys right? But how about on a certain day you can snag a ton of Squirtle with the chance the catch a shiny?

    Harvey Birdman returning

This was delightfully unexpected news. When it was airing, it was one of my favorite Adult Swim shows. Pure goofy ridiculousness, heavy on the running gags, generally good fun.

  18. Runner3 is a definite. I have a cousin who absolutely hates how the games play on the Gamecube because he played them on the NES. They reversed the Jump and Shoot buttons and offered no way to customize the control scheme. Muscle memory kicks in, and it creates a whole different challenge playing the game. He'd press A to jump and end up shooting instead.
